I use pencils a lot and I sharpen them a lot as well. I do not like writing with a dull pencil. This pencil sharpener has a place of honor on my desk. I tossed the one I had after just one use of this one. It actually sharpens the whole lead of my pencil. My other left one side hardly touched I would have to take the pencil out and rotate it around to sharpen the other side. This one done the whole thing at once. This put a nice sharp point on my pencil in just a couple of seconds.
This sharpener runs on 4 AA batteries which are not included, or it can run on USB power, the cord is included. I am using mine with the power cord. It does not have a wall plug but I have plenty of those laying around. The sharpener catches and hold all of the pencil shaving in a nice cup. The cup is a little hard to remove but that is really not a bad thing as I don't have to worry about getting shavings all over my desk because I bumped it. It is about 4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches high, this is an estimate. It is light weight so could be tossed in a back pack or briefcase and taken on the go. It is not real loud but it does make some noise. If using it at school you may want to ask a teacher if it is ok first. I have sharpened both regular pencils and colored pencils with this sharpener with no problems at all.
