I am surprised by this singing chirping bird cage. When I took it out of the package and looked at it i kind of thought to myself well this won't last long. I put it together pretty quickly, put batteries in and though to myself "well this is really cute" . At that point I still didn't think it looked very sturdy. Then my 2 and 4 year old Grand Kids came in, they immediately grabbed it up and started playing with it. The bird cage stayed together. Now my little ones are not docile creatures they are kind of like animals as are most 2 and 4 year olds. They played with it about an hour with no problems at all. The chirping and singing was starting to work on my nerves so we took it out to the porch and hung it up. It looks so cute on my porch. It is a motion activated device so when someone comes up on the porch they are greeted with the little bird singing and flapping its wings to them.
This does need to be assembled. There are no tools needed though and goes together quickly. This takes 3 AAA batteries which are not included to make it work. The battery case is on the bottom. There is a spot for a screw to hold the battery case but there was no screw in it. The door to the battery case does stay on very well without the screw though. The kids never got it to fall off. It is made of plastic.
