"Control the water, control the world"
From inside the lush expanse of the Inner Realm, the Ghosbane family and their fellow waterlords rule the Joined Realm through their mastery of the ancient aqueducts that feed the vast Drylands beyond their domain. After being accused of a terrible crime, Arlon Ghosbane, the inheritor of a secret legacy of the vanquished overlords of the Joined Realm, is forced to flee from his family and the only life he has ever known. Guided by a renegade howler intent on freeing his race, Arlon discovers that a world far different than one he had been taught about lies beyond his water-rich homeland. The fate of humanity will be determined by the decisions of a young fugitive and a former slave as they fight for the future of the Joined Realm.

Excerpt Three:
“Well done, Artemis-Silver,” Arlon gushed when the howler appeared satisfied that the fracas would not immediately draw more ruffians into the chamber. “T-They intended to k-kill me. In cold blood, throw me from that window.”
Artemis-Silver walked to stand near Arlon, his lupine features impassive. Blood matted the howler’s fur. The hilt of a massive sword stuck up from the scabbard strapped to his back. The creature gazed down upon Arlon, who felt a chill of unease at the look from that imposing form. Artemis-Silver regarded Arlon with a gaze that no howler had shown him before.
“You must get word to the other howlers of what my stepmother planned,” Arlon told him. “These men tried to murder me, and they are holding Kostas prisoner…”
“I did not come here to save you,” the howler told Arlon.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:
Robert Vane has been writing stories since he was eight. It’s been his full time job for two decades – but not the stories he wanted to write.
Inspired by a lifetime of reading, beginning with “classics” like Privateers, the Amtrak Wars, Darkover, and the Belgariad to name a few (yeah, he’s old), Rob has been pecking away in his spare time. The Joined Realm isn’t the first full length novel Rob has written, but it’s the first that he felt ready to share. Big thanks to Amazon!
Keep reading and writing.
The Joined Realm is available on Amazon.com and will be $0.99 during the tour.

What is the best piece of advice you could give aspiring writers who are interested in putting there work out there?
ReplyDeleteIf you're a hobbyist, the self-publishing process is great. I've been writing books for decades, but never really wanted to deal with sending out manuscripts. Amazon has made it so easy. A copy editor is an excellent investment so you can be confident of your work being judged on its actual content.
DeleteThis sounds like a great read!
ReplyDeletecongrats on the tor and thanks for the chance to win :)

Sounds like a great read.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever suffer from writer’s block and, if so, how do you overcome it?
ReplyDeleteAnyone writer who doesn't is rather fortunate I think... my blocks are usually in the form of having realized that something in my original plotting doesn't actually work and I need to figure out a way to fix the problem that my lack of foresight created. But in all cases I find long walks, great music and reading and watching the works of others provides a burst of creativity...
DeleteThis book sounds so amazing I love the story line. How did you get started as a writer? Did you always know that is what you wanted to do?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, this sounds like a book I'll enjoy. :)
