I love to cook. I do not use boxed or prepackaged foods if I can get away with making my own in most the meals I make. I can spend 3 to 4 hours preparing one meal from scratch. Measurements are a very important part to the dishes I make or anyone makes for that matter. If your measurements are not right your dish won't be either. This scale has been a huge help.
I do have other kitchen scales, they are the flat kind. To use them I have to pull out a bowl, measure the bowls weight, then start adding my ingredient to that bowl. If I happen to bump it I have to start over since the bowl will probably tip over as it is flying off the scale. This scale is the bowl. The scale will measure up to 11 pounds. It can be set to measure in pounds, ounces, or milliliters. It is so easy to use, just push the button to turn it on, put your ingredients int he bowl and you are set to go.
I love using this for meats the most. meat has a tendency to make a mess with its juices. This bowl keeps the juices in the bowl instead of running off on my counters.
Clean up is pretty easy. You do have to be careful not to get water in the electronics but running hot water with a drop of dish soap in it and cleaning with a wash cloth has worked great for me. The scale runs on 2 AAA batteries which are included.
