Then he gets into the best part of the book. The recipes. The recipes in this book are so great, you won't really miss anything from your former diet. A lot of the recipes in this ook you will be happy to put on your table day after day whether you are dieting or not. The pictures of the dishes will have you starving and drooling. Closet Hanger Organizer Review.

I got my 2 pack set of Specialty Styles Closet Hanger Organizer in exchange for my honest review. I honestly love these hangers, I am able to empty 24 hangers out of my closet and replace them with just 2.
I have a bunch of the bohemian style dresses that need no ironing, and each one of them was taking up a hanger in my closet. I looped one per hole in the hanger organizer and was able to put 12 on each one. I also have tons of night gowns, which I took out of the drawer and hung on one of the hangers and pretty much emptied the drawer.
I know they are for mainly belts and scarves but they are so versatile and rattan wrapped with beads on the end of the hanger to make them safe for all materials. You could even hang lingerie or panty hose with no worries. These are just a great product and will be buying more.

unnamed

A nameless young man is watching his dreams slip away when a man who let his own dreams die long ago sits down and begins to tell him a story: a story of young love and teenage dreams and rock and roll magic. A story about being young and being brave, and the girl who taught him how to be that way.
As the story unfolds, the young man begins to wonder if there's something more to this older man and his strange story...if maybe, just maybe, rock and roll magic is real.
A modern-day fable, The Truth of Rock and Roll is a cautionary tale about being young, being brave, and holding onto your dreams.

Excerpt

“I was in the locker room.  Somebody’s transistor radio was playing Buffalo Springfield: stop, children, what’s that sound…I should have taken the warning, but I wasn’t thinking about anything but Mrs. Greer’s math test and maybe lunch.  As a result, I was caught completely off-guard when somebody spun me around and slammed me up against the lockers.”

“It was Brett Snow, captain of the football team, and for a moment I was worried that he wanted to have some words with me about what I’d said to Mona.  They had an on-again, off-again, high-drama sort of thing going on, and stomping on some twerp who’d mouthed off to her would be a perfect make-up present.  But it turned out he had a different bone to pick with me that day.”

“ ‘I’ve been hearing things lately, dweeb,’ he said to me, getting right up in my face. ‘Things I don’t like.”

“ ‘What have you been hearing?’ I asked, trying to keep calm.  The situation was ridiculous – I mean, we were both fresh from the shower and still wrapped in our towels – but it was also pretty damn serious.  Brett had put people in the hospital and gotten away with it because of who he was, who his dad was, and who his victims were.  He didn’t have that last advantage against me, which was why I was still upright, but the situation could still go bad.”

“ ‘I hear you’re spending a lot of time with that trailer trash redbush…you know…what’s her name…Ginny? Janey?’ “
“ ‘Jenny,’ I volunteered.”
“ ‘That’s the one!’ he said.  Most people smack their foreheads when they say something in that tone.  Brett smacked mine. ‘Now, see, I have a problem with that.’ “
“I started to ask why, but he put a finger to my lips. ‘Shoosh shoosh shoosh shoosh shoosh!  I’ll explain everything.  I know you’re not too smart.”
“His friends snickered at that while my friends looked anxious.  He made a big show of thinking what to say next, stroking his chin, drawing out our fear of what was coming.”
“ ‘It’s like this, dweeb,’ he said at last. ‘I don’t like you.  I pretty much think you’re a pussy.’ “
“His friends snickered again, and mine tensed up.  I learned later that they had no idea what to do.  They had no chance of stopping Brett physically, especially not with his buddies there, and we all had that stupid high school code of honor where you don’t ever call in the teachers.  Mostly, they were hoping that Brett would decide talking was enough.”
“Brett ignored it all and kept talking: ‘And normally, I wouldn’t care where you go to get your little dinky wet.  But whether you like it or not - and I know I don’t - you’re one of us.’ He waved at his buddies. ‘You’re from the Heights.  We can’t have some bitch from the Mill Road trailer park thinking she’s as good as we are, which means…’ he leaned in close then, putting his face in my face and his forearm across my throat. ‘…we can’t have one of our own acting like she is.  So you just drop your little whore, and you do it today, and nobody has to get hurt.  You get me?’ “
“I nodded as best I could with his arm jammed up under my chin.”
“ ‘Good.’ He let me go and turned away, and I could breathe again, and if I’d been smart I would have kept my mouth shut.  But…I don’t know…the Stones were singing Street Fighting Man, and my mouth was moving before I could stop it.”
“ ‘She’s not a whore,’ I said.”
“Brett stopped.  Everyone in the locker room, his buddies and mine, looked at me like I was nuts.  Then they looked scared - my buddies, yeah, but some of his, too, at least the ones who weren’t all excited that they were about to see a beating.  They knew this one was gonna be bad.”
“For his part, Brett didn’t get excited.  He didn’t snarl or threaten or ask what I’d said to him.  He just sighed and shook his head and said: ‘And I was going to let you live.’ “
“He turned and started for me, and I was just raising my hands to shield my face when someone grabbed him from behind.  One arm, slimmer and smoother than you expect to see in the boys’ locker room, wrapped around him while the other slipped under his towel.  He stopped dead in his tracks, but it was too late: the arm under his towel tensed, his eyes just bugged right out of his head, and he started to make these rusty, breathless noises that probably wanted to be screams.”
I winced.  It was forty years later and the bastard deserved it, but I still winced.
“He sank down to his knees, but Jenny followed him down, not letting go until he hit the floor.  Then she straightened up and calmly brushed off her hands as ol’ Brett curled up on the floor like a shrimp and sobbed.”
“Of course it was Jenny.  Who else would have the balls?”
“ ‘He’s right, you know,’ she said to him, calm as if we’d been discussing song titles. ‘I’m not a whore.  Whores fuck for money.  If that was me, then you’d actually have a chance.’ Then she stepped over Brett, hooked her fingers into my towel, pulled me close and kissed me. ‘What I do with you, baby, I do because you do it so fine.’ “
                                                            *
“…of course,” he finished, “That’s when Coach Moore came running in shouting ‘Break it up’.”
“Of course it was,” I smirked.  Wasn’t it always?  Then he made it stop being funny.
“To this day, I fully believe that he was there the whole time, and only interfered when Brett started to lose.  Jenny got a week’s suspension, and I might have too if there hadn’t been a dozen witnesses that I didn’t ‘get in a fight’ so much as ‘get tossed around’.  Brett didn’t miss a single game.  And that’s how things worked in my hometown.”
I was outraged, and started to say so, but he was already past that, moving on to the real point of the story: “I asked her later how she knew I was in trouble, and at first she tried to say ‘How’d Wayne Cochran know his baby’s in Heaven?  Some things you just know, baby.’  But I pressed her a little bit, and she finally said ‘Someone was playing a radio in our locker room, too, and the song told me.’  That was all she would say, and I didn’t understand until much later.”

About the Author

Matthew Keville wrote his first short stories in first grade, when the books on the shelves didn’t have the stories he wanted. The stories have been his constant friends since then, and they’ve carried him through some hard times. He grew up in a small town where you either leave at eighteen or live there forever. He elected to leave at eighteen. Now he lives in New York City where everyone is only working as a waiter or bus driver or stockbroker until they make it on Broadway. This makes him different and special, because he’s only working as a paralegal until he makes it as a writer.

Reviews:

"One of the most powerhouse imaginations I’ve encountered in sci-fi..." — Dean C. Moore, The Warlock's Friend.

"Guy Erma and the Son of Empire by Sally Ann Melia is a fast-paced and exciting YA military sci-fi read. Don't miss this one!" — Brent LeVasseur, author and illustrator of the Aoléon The Martian Girl series.

"Set in a world where fashion and fun hide treacherous politics and danger, Guy Erma and the Son of Empire will keep you enthralled." — Sherrill Nilson, Karda: Adalta Vol. 1.

A good old-fashioned political thriller - if you loved both Frank Herbert’s Dune and Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games - you will adore Guy Erma.

The author was born in Wallasey, England, in 1964, and moved to the South of France when she was eleven. She spent her teenage years living in the cosmopolitan city state of Monaco and became immersed in its many languages and cultures. This led to a lifetime of writing novels, scripts, stories and articles.

In her working life, Sally writes marketing communications and manages large international websites.

In 2010, Sally joined the Hogs Back Writers, a club located on the outskirts of Guildford, and she set about turning an old manuscript into this novel: Guy Erma and the Son of Empire. Sally currently lives in Farnham, and she is married with two children.

My review:
This is a very intense young adult, Action Adventure, Thriller. sci-fi book. The book is written by Sally Ann Melia which is the pen name of Sally Dickson. The book has some truely awesome pictures. Well worth the time of looking at them.
The books main characters are Prince Teodor of Freyne,  Teodor is just 13, and soon will be king and Emporer. His Father King Serge was murdered when Teodor was just 4 years old. Which left him the only heir. There are thirteen planets in the Freyne Empire. Regent Sayginn is his Mother.
Princess Simonelle Valvanchi is a Zaracan, who are shape-shifters. She is also just 13 and one of Zaracans highest born princesses. Karl Valvanchi is Commander of Zaracan Democratic Forces on Sas Darona and is Princess Simonelle's Uncle. Guy Erma is a orphan who wants to join the Dome Elite. Guy is the son of a fashion model, his father is unknown, and his birth unregistered. This puts the Dome Elite beyond his grasp.
Prince Teodor has been kidnapped. Will they be able to find him?
At time's I found the book a little hard to follow but all in all it was an okay book. I think teen boys would get into it the most.  There is an appendix at the back of the book that will help you follow the characters and places better.

Black Derby Hat (Unisex) Review

This hat is real cute it is a costume hat not a everyday wearing hat. It fit me but not my husband so I would call it medium sized. it has a silk ribbon around it. It is stiff so would hold up through a party or even in a parade. I was given this hat in exchange for my honest review.

Specialty Style Jewlery Travel Organizer Review

This is a great Jewelry travel organizer. It has 3 zipper compartments 2 are about 2 inches deep the 3rd is about an inch deep. It has a spot fo earrings, rings, and necklaces. Everything in held in place with snaps on a very soft material. I put size 7 1/2 rings on the bar and they worked great I am pretty sure a 6 or 6 1/2 would fit and not move, my 7 1/2's spun around a little. This is  tri-fold wallet. It also comes with 2 4inch bags for your bigger jewelry or for bangle bracelets. It would fit any luggage and also in a medium or larger sized pocket book, folded it is about 3x6 inches. As a blogger I was given this in exchange for my honest review.

Hydracentials Stylish On the Go Lunch Tote Review

I was given this lunch tote in exchange for my honest review.
This is a very nice lunch bag it has a sturdy canvas outer layer and a plastic inner layer. It is actually quite large would hold enough for a small picnic, it is 15x9x6 inches. It does has a pocket on the front for keys, money or whatever you need to tote on your picnic. It has a zipper to keep the bag closed and to keep your lunch cool.
I love that it kind of looks like a pocketbook, which to me screams stylish. You could also use this bag as a diaper bag, or if you go to the lake or beach use it to carry home the wet bathing suits. It really is versitile.
If you use it as it was made for, Lunch. It will hold ice packs, drinks, small bowls, snack packs, lunchable products, or whatever you want to eat.
When you get it dirty, toss it in the washer.

Artensoft Photo Collage Maker Review + Giveaway

I was given the Artensoft Photo collage maker in exchange for my honest review, and honestly I love it. The video shows you how easy it is to turn a lot of your photos into 1 of your photos. I know that sounds strange but you pick 1 photo, then you upload at least 300 other photos an it takes those photos and shrinks them into little bitty and remakes your 1 chosen photo. Below you can see the original photo of mine and then the photo after the program finished with it. If you were to blow it up you can see all of your other photos in the big picture.

Computer Reading Glasses 1.5 For Women & Man By See 626 Review

You get 3 pairs of glasses black, gold. silver/gray.  You will have to bend and tweek the glasses when you get them as they come kind of flat. They are shipped tightly packed into a zip top bag. These glasses may be cheap glasses but they get the job done. And it's nice having spares laying around. They are unisex but to me look more for males, but when I need to see something I don't care what they look like. I did receive these glasses in exchange for my honest review.

Espresso Stack Cup Review

As you can see by the video this is a really cute cup idea. I love the lego block look and that the cup is ceramic not plastic. It is a really cool gift idea for the espresso drinkers on your gift giving list. IT turns the cups into kind of a space saver since you can stack them anywhere. The company does have this one and also a black cup with a white holder which would look really great stacked together. I was given my cup in exchange for my honest review.

Drinking Animals By Dan Jackson Review

I was given a copy of this ebook for my honest review.
The book says it is for preschool to 1st grade ages 4 to 8. I am well beyond that age level but I enjoyed the book, I even learned several things. Each page is about a different animal and their drinking habits. The pictures are not drawings but actual pictures of the animals they are very clear and vibrant close up pictures. I love the giraff picture personally. The book is very short in reading time, but the child you are reading it to will probably keep you on each page a few extra minutes in awe over the pictures.
Did you know dairy cows can consume up to 20 gallons of water a day? Neither did I but now I do. This is a very educational and beautiful book. The words are easy for begining readers. I have read other books by Dan Jackson and haven't found one yet I didn't love.

Excerpt:

I stood on the spot with the shovel we had found earlier, staring at the ground where Jane told me to dig. My heart pounded in my chest, and I considered whether this was a good idea. “If a body is here, it might have been buried a hundred years ago. People do die and are buried. It could be sacrilegious to uproot somebody. There are laws about doing things like that.”

Alex sat on the chopping block. She took a long draw on her cigarette, exhaled the smoke and watched it linger in the still air. “I’m sure whoever it is won’t mind.”

How stupid would it sound to tell anyone I was out in the woods with a chain smoking Goth girl and a psychic who could divine the past by touch, digging up a body? If one was buried here, it may lead to a story. The headlines would read “Editor, Goth Girl and Psychic Dig Up Civil War Hero.”

I took a deep breath and scooped out the first shovel of dirt, paused and peered in the hole. No body. I dug and tossed a few more spades full. Nothing. I scooped out more earth, still finding nothing. My pace became less ginger. Dig. Toss. Dig Toss. Dig. Thud!

Whatever I hit seemed solid. I worked the shovel more carefully, taking smaller bites of dirt. Something pale contrasted against the dark earth. Using the tip of the shovel, I moved aside more ground until I exposed something long and slender. I’d seen skeletons pictured on anatomy charts at the doctor’s office and more than a few body parts while in Afghanistan, doing a stint in the Army, but I was no expert on bones. “I found a tibia or maybe a femur.”

Alex tossed her cigarette, ran over to the hole and stared into it. She knelt down and brushed back dirt with her hand. “It’s a root.”

“Can’t be.”

She grabbed it, and what looked like a bone bent as she tugged on it. I knelt next to her and examined it closer. It sure looked like a root.

Jane, who had been poking a stick at something in the grass, came over and pointed to a spot about two feet over. “Dig here. Not there.”

I repositioned myself and began digging again, wondering how many more roots I would dig up that looked like bones.

The air grew heavy, and my clothing damp as I dug. The sounds of the forest became distant, and all I heard was the shovel striking the ground and my heart beating. The last time I’d worked up a sweat digging a hole was boot camp at Fort Jackson. I didn’t like it then, and my current sentiments were the same. I tossed a shovel full of dirt and spotted something.

Rather than shout for Alex and discover I had found another root, I took it and rubbed the soil away. Definitely this had to be a bone. Picking through the dirt, I found more bones, like from a chicken.

Alex came over and looked down into the hole. “Phalanges or metacarpals.”

Surprised she’d know the correct names, I stared at her. “Really?”

“I took an anatomy class in college.”

I stepped back and let Alex pick around in the hole. She found more small bones and sorted them on the ground until they began to form the arrangement of a hand. “I’d say a body is buried there.”

Alex took the shovel and removed dirt from the excavation. She took her time and paused occasionally to peer into the hole. Where I was a bulldozer plowing through the soil, she worked more like a seasoned archeologist on a dig.

As a reporter on the Gazette, I often teetered on the fine line separating legal from criminal. My informants were druggies, boosters and mechanics. I’d done interviews at crack houses, brothels and chop shops. When I came to Maiden Falls, I figured those days were behind me. Things here would be safe, mundane and predictable. Yet, here I was, digging up a dead body.

Alex found more small bones and placed them with the first ones. “Hey, we keep this up we’ll have a complete Mr. Bones in no time.”

A chill passed through me. This was a Frankenstein movie, and we were the grave robbers. We’d take the body parts to the mad scientist and get a bag of coins. Things could not be creepier, and I really didn’t want to see a dead body, even if the flesh had already gone to the worms.

We took turns digging, and I worked more cautiously. Alex did the detailed stuff like cleaning the dirt off the bones and arranging them with the others. She named them as she found them. Humerus. Ulna. Clavicle.

“Were you pre-med at college?”

“No.”

Jane sat in the grass nearby and watched. She seemed indifferent about the body we unearthed, and I speculated what conditions had molded such a strange being.

“Look here.” I pulled back a tattered shirt and pointed to a broken rib. “Looks like someone shot him.”

Alex looked closer. “Maybe.”

“Do you have a better explanation?”

The trauma of seeing exposed human bones no longer seemed as threatening. I stood back and let Alex continue the exhumation. I feared the moment when we’d get to the head. A grinning skull with hollow eyes gave me a chill.
