This is a nice knife, it was not as sharp as it could be when it arrived, my husband is handling that problem though. It is a heavy knife, it has a wooden handle, and a 8 inch blade. The handle is 5 inches long and made out of black piano wood, this is a great wood to make handles out of, it will resist moisture for years to come. The blade is made out of 420 stainless steel, which means it will get extremely sharp and stay that way for a while, and it will hold the edge for a long time. Being stainless steel it should not rust.
The knife came in a nice gift box, it was wrapped in tissue paper and in a plastic bag, which is great you shouldn't cut yourself undoing the packaging. This would be a nice knife to give as a gift, I am personally keeping mine but may order more for gift giving at a later time.
