While I may not be a die hard gamer, I do know a good headset. This one works great the sound is clear as a bell. The microphone part works better then any others I have tried. I do not have a problem with having to basically yell into the microphone and talk very slowly. I also don't have to turn everything in the room off like the fan. My other one even the quiet running fan would mess with the microphone. I love having the sound controls and the light control in the cord. The lights are very cool, but I don't have to have them on. The headset is adjustable around your head, definite perk. The ear cups are very comfortable. They are soft and squishy, and my ears do not get hot and sweaty. These work great with my laptop, the PC, and the gaming system. It has very long 7 foot cord so I am not having to set right on top of my devices. This headset works great with the windows speech recognition software as well as any in game voice commands. My Son In Law the true gamer is jealous. He tested these out for me, put them through all of the paces and almost cried when he had to give them back to me.
