I have a mandolin that I have had about 10 years. It's blades are starting to go dull and it is getting harder to cut with. So I jumped at the chance to try this one. In the last week I have made french fries, onion rings, sliced, and diced several typed of veggies and fruits, and am totally in love with this. I did not realize just how dull my old mandolin was until using this one. It is supper sharp and slices like going through hot butter.
In the box you get the mandolin, the handle, and 4 types of slicing trays. You get a Slicer Blade, Fine Julienne Blade, Coarse Julienne Blade, Grater Blade. The mandolin blade is very very sharp. It is made of stainless steel and are guaranteed not to rust or lose sharpness over time. This is a great mandolin and I love it. It would also make great gift.
