I live in Florida and fishing is huge free time activity. Lakes are everywhere. We took this out to a small lake we like to visit and hooked it on the pole. It did work. It worked really well at that. It was very windy the other day and did get a few false alarms as the wind whipped. But it did let us know when we got a bite on the line. It is very loud, and the light is great for night fishing as it is very bright. My brothers and nephews all are avid fishermen ans live next to a lake so will be getting them all one of these for Christmas this year.
These are small and made of plastic. They are very lightweight. They are very easy to use and come with a battery already installed. they are very easy to put onto a pole just clip it on. They rotate out of the way when reeling and casting, or can be quickly popped off and on the pole..
