I have a large bulky luggage scale which straps around the suitcase, it is really made for larger bags then the one I use so wasn't that great for me. This one is small and really works better. It comes with a short strap and hook which goes around the handle of our luggage. It has a digital readying on the handle. The digital reading is very easy to read. I have the black one and the digital display is in the center of the scale on top. I did not any problems using it at all. This comes with the CR2032 battery already installed but you need to remove the plastic piece underneath it in order to use the scale. Since I do not use my scale on a weekly basis I removed the battery totally after using and testing it, just as a precaution.
The scale will read up to 110 pounds. I used it on a few things and it was pretty accurate. I am not going to say spot on because, I don't have another scale that I can swear to being perfect either. I did weigh my test items on this scale, my other scale and also my bathroom scale and they were all with in a few ounces of each other. I have always heard rule of thumb is to make it 2 pounds under restricted weight with any scale.
It is very easy to use, just unhook the metal hook at the end of the strap from the top metal triangle loop the strap through the handle of your lugged and put put the hook back on the bar of the metal piece at the top. Turn the scale on and lift the luggage off the floor using the scale as your handle within seconds you will have your weight. Make sure to lift slowly, if the bag is swinging or spinning you will not get an accurate weight.
This is a small scale and perfect for taking with you on your trips. I like to bring back souvenirs from my trips but I don't want to make my bag to heavy and have to pay more, so having this with me will be great for the return trip home. Plus dirty clothes weigh more then clean ones.
