The Bali Mystery by Linda Weaver Clarke
I really enjoyed this book. I got a trip to Bali along with our stars Amelia and Rick. I loved how Linda Weaver Clarke basically gave a lesson in Bali culture, history, and also a description of many of the landmarks Bali is famous for. And she done all of that gently without over describing or becoming boring at all. I personally do not like books that veer away from the story with overly descriptive parts, this one did not do that at all you got just enough to picture it in your mind and it stayed right on track as well as being part of the story as well. The book has very little strong word sand no F bombs. There is 1 steamy kiss scene but no sex at all in the book. So it would be good for older teens as well as adults.
Diane Lehman has done a great job narrating this audiobook as well. She has done great job with the different characters. She also does a great job relaying the emotion in the book. Her voice s easy to listen to. I felt like she was getting into the book as much as I was. I will be watching for more books narrated by her.
The book itself is about private detective Amelia Moore. She gets a call from a lady looking for her brother William who has gone missing. Amelia calls in her college Rick to help her investigate the case. The case takes them to Bali. The 2 seems to be 2 steps behind William at all times. Every place they go someone has seen William. They are also being followed every where they go. They need to figure out why William has just up and quit his job and put his house up for sale and taken off to Bali without a word to anyway and also find out why they are being followed.
I really liked the characters int his book. Amelia is a bit stiff, she is all business. But Rick gotta love him, yes he can be all business when needed but also knows how to have fun. He turns their investigation into a vacation as well. When not investigating he is playing, taking int h sites and loosening Amelia up.
I cant wait for the next book in this series. I want to travel to Ireland with Amelia and Rick as well as watch their budding romance gain strength.
