Fire & Ice Therapy Packs

These awesome Fire & Ice pack are perfect for any type of pain. These come in a 10 pack. I personally put 5 in my freezer and left 5 in the box in my medicine cabinet. These are reusable. You can freeze these to help with swelling, sunburn, and other types of pain where cold is needed to help. Stick one in the microwave for about 10 seconds to use for muscle aches and pain and any other pain you would use heat for. These packs are filled with a blue gel. They have fabric on the back to keep the heat or ice from being directly on your skin. They are very flexible so you can use them anywhere on the body. These are about 3 inches across. You could use more then 1 for larger pain areas and put them on with a wrap to hold them in place.

Essential Oils All-natural remedies and recipes for your mind, body and home by DK

5*
I love essential oils and have been using them for more years then I care to count. When I saw this book listed on Netgalley.com I had to apply for it. Essential Oils are so much more then a bottle of stuff that smells good. The oils can be using for so many different things from beauty, to illness, to cleaning your house, and yes to smell good. There is also several ways they can also be turned into poison like Cats should not be around Tea Tree oil it can make them very sick or even kill them. Some oils are fine for taking internally. You need to make sure the oil is food grade though, some oils will also turn to poison if taken internally so you should really know what you are doing before you do it when it comes to Essential oils.

Although I do know a lot about Essential Oils and their uses there is always room for more knowledge and new recipes. This book if filled with everything Essential Oils. It tells you how to use the different ones safely and effectively. There are recipes for making new smells, and for adding to cosmetics, shampoos, healing rubs and more. The book tells you the best way to use each oil, what its main purposes are and even tells you where the oils come from.

This book is a wealth of information. I am so glad I ran across it and even more glad I read it. This book should be used as a reference book. Don't just read it once and shelve it. You will want to pull this book out time and time again. With all the information in it reading it once I guarantee you will not remember everything the book teaches.

Ghostly Tales: Spine-Chilling Stories of the Victorian Age by Chronicle Books

The stories in this book are reprints of original Victorian era stories. They are pretty much written with the old english and can be a little hard to follow at times. I caught myself rereading a few lines to make sense of it to my brain. Don't get me wrong the stories are great, spooky, and eerie, you just have to pay a bit more attention while reading. The stories are short, there are 7 stories in the book. The stories are written by people like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens and more. I personally think they left the best for last I liked The screaming Skull by F. Marion Crawford the most out of the 7 stories. They were all great though.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

Ghosts of the Civil War: Exploring the Paranormal History of America's Deadliest War by Rich Newman

I am ready to pack my suitcase and head out for all the spots in this book. I have actually visited several of the places in this book but now I want to go back and recheck them all with this book as my field guide. I have been to Gettysburg more then once and have experienced things and even have some photos of things. I have been to Chickamauga, I even lived in Kennesaw , and have been to many more of the battle fields. I am a huge Civil War Buff, I also love Ghosts and Ghost stories. A lot of the stories in this book I have heard before but some I have not. To me this book was very interesting and I really enjoyed it.

Book Excerpts
1.
A gasp caught in her throat at the sight of the massive man being held up by thick metal chains. He was bigger than any man she had ever seen before. Not just tall, although he had to be well over seven feet, but also wide enough to fill the breadth of the room. There was no fat that she could see, just muscle upon muscle. When her eyes traveled down she found he was also stark naked and rather impressive. But it was his skin that kept her from moving any closer.
In the light cast by the flashlight it appeared to glitter both green and gold at the same time. It was hard to tell if it was real or not, but her gut said it seemed real enough. The man's head hung down and his blond hair hid his face from her. Lily could see the steady rise and fall of his chest, but nothing else gave indication of life. The chains seemed sturdy enough to hold him, so Lily scooted forward one baby step at a time.
"Save me."
The voice was deep and scratchy, but unmistakably male. Something in the tone of it hummed through her like a shock. It compelled her to move forward even more, to be within reach of him.
"Save me."
His head hung down and she saw no movement when she spoke. Her skin was beginning to grow warm with a flush she could not explain. Lily wanted to touch him so badly that only her tight grip on the flashlight stopped her.

"SAVE ME."
