Synopsis:
Mandy Hemphill is living her dream, running the successful Rose Cottage Cafe in Orchardville, Texas, from the ground floor of a converted, old—and possibly haunted—downtown home. She even had plans to grow her business with a new outdoor patio…if only the mayor wouldn’t have turned her down.
So when the beloved mayor is found murdered, Mandy finds herself among the suspects. And now business at the cafe is dropping faster than a fallen soufflé. How can she prove her innocence and save the Rose Cottage Cafe?
Thankfully Ben, the new owner of The Orchardville Gazette, doesn’t believe she’s guilty. As the two of them set out to find the real killer, they uncover one small-town lie after the next. But the closer they get to learning the truth about who killed the mayor, the more in danger they find themselves.

My Review:
I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read which was really nice since I have been kind of busy lately. The story was great with no boring parts for me. There was not tons of description and I really liked that. I love it when author's give you just enough to make things and places give you an idea but don't over power the story with filling you in on details that have nothing to do with the story. The books main characters are Mandy who owns the Rose Cottage Cafe, and Ben a new comer to town who is starting his own local newspaper, and of course the biggest part of the story is about the murder of Mayor William Walter's. Mandy is on the suspect list since she was upset with the Mayor for not allowing her to add on a patio to her restaurant, and she didn't mind letting people know she was mad about it. Ben and Mandy team up to do some amateur detective work to try to find the real killer and clear Mandy's name. My biggest let down in the book was there was made mention of Wilcox, the resident ghost at the Rose Cottage Cafe but he did not get a part in the book at all. I kept waiting for him to do something. He was almost like a forgotten part of the story. Yes I know the book was not a paranormal story, but since he was mentioned I would of liked to see him have a part of the book. Other then Wilcox's missing part I really enjoyed the book.

About The Author –
• After her twenty-year career in magazine publishing came to a screeching halt faster than you can say “print is dead,” Lori Stacy decided it was time to finally turn the many stories she had been crafting in her head over the years into books.
Lori has authored a number of fiction and nonfiction books for young adults, has written articles for both print and online publications, and has written about hotels for one of the world’s leading search engines.
She lives in Texas with her husband and three children. When she is not writing, you can usually find her in the kitchen baking treats (which she says are for her children) or trying to train their hundred-pound golden retriever, an obedience school dropout.

NBTM Tour for Convergence by Michelle Grey

Convergence
by Michelle Grey

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Romantic Suspense
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Nothing comes between Tori Whitlock and her tornado chase season -- not a serial killer, not even the hot FBI agent who’s vowed to save her life. But Detective Jack Mathis plays tough. Ending this case isn’t just his job, it’s his mission. And he finally has the advantage.

He faces Tori’s hostility and objections head-on, interjecting himself into every aspect of her life, and leaving him no time to dwell on his own.

Through the twists and turns of the madman’s game, Tori is forced to adapt to her unwelcome circumstances. Still, she fights Jack's presence, and her attraction to him, as he tries to open doors better left closed.

For Tori and Jack, life and death decisions are part of their jobs. But, can they overcome their pasts and realize that there’s a difference between life and living?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt Two:
“What the hell makes you think you can just walk in and turn my life sideways, kiss me like we kissed last night, then act like nothing in the world has changed?”
He’d started to turn away, then came back, nostrils flared a mere inch from her face, forcing her against the computer table. She didn’t fear him, but if the vein ticking in his neck was any indication, she probably should have.
“Everything in the world has changed.” His deep voice was quiet, restrained. “It changed for you the day that email showed up in your inbox. You didn’t ask for that. I get it. But that doesn’t change the facts.”
She opened her mouth to interrupt but he was on a roll.
“This is exactly why I’ve done everything short of castration to try to keep my hands off of you. You think I’m immune to whatever this is? You think I don’t lie out here at night torturing myself with the knowledge that you’re thirty feet away from me, warm in your bed? Well, think again. Some nights, that’s all I think about.
“But having sex with you would complicate everything. Hell, that kiss turned my brain to mush. You intrigue me, fascinate me, draw me in ways I haven’t felt in a long, long time. I want time to know you. The real you. I won’t risk your life by getting sloppy. You can get angry with me all you want, but I’d rather have you alive and pissed off than dead on my watch.”
Interview With Michelle Grey
As a kid did you write or make up stories?
I did! First it was poems in elementary school, then yearbook in junior high, and newspaper staff then editor in high school. I’ve always enjoyed telling stories, but fiction has always been my favorite.
Where does most of your Character inspiration come from? Wow – you name it. Tori, my heroine in Convergence, came loosely from watching Reed Timmer on storm chaser shows. Other characteristics come from people I work and live with. Usually, it’s a single thing – a quirk, a personality trait, a saying – then the character blossoms from there.
What is your favorite spot to write? Lately, it’s been so nice here in the Midwestern US, that I’ve enjoyed writing outside. But since we can’t always count on the weather being friendly, I also have an office in my home that is my go-to place. It’s Paris-themed and never fails to put me in the right mood to write.
What advice would you give budding writers? First of all, get words on the page. Don’t worry about them being perfect, or even good when you’re getting started. Secondly, I would encourage anyone seriously interested in a writing career to get into a local writers group and listen and learn from the professionals.
About Jasmine Walt
Jasmine WaltI'm obsessed with books, chocolate, and sharp, pointy objects. Somehow, those three things melded together in my head and transformed into a desire to write. Usually fantastical stuff, with a healthy dose of action and romance. My characters are a little (okay, a lot) on the snarky side, and they swear, but they mean well. Even the villains sometimes.
When I'm not working on my next book, you can find me working on my dao sword form, spending time with my family, or binge-watching superhero shows on Netflix. I love to hear from my readers, so if you've got a question or just want to say hi, feel free to contact me via my website at www.jasminewalt.com.
ROHEGO Premium Standing Desk and Kitchen Anti-Fatigue Mat
I have been wanting a nice floor mat in my kitchen for a while now. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. I love to cook and I do not cook quick box junk. Everything I cook is home made. So sometimes I can spend over an hour preparing a meal. This floor mat really has made standing at my counter and stove a lot more comfortable for me. I have seen several mats like this one that feel like they are loaded with lead. This one is not real heavy and it does stay in place without all that weight. This mat is very easy to clean. It has like a rubbery feel to it, so I can just run the mop, swifter, or even a damp cloth over it and it it clean again. It is very comfortable to stand on as well.
I LOVE U Throw Pillow Case
I love everything about this pillow slip. It is made very well and the saying is awesome. I was tor over whether I wanted it on my couch or my bed. My bed finally won out though. It looks great there among the other pillows. I have burgundy pillow cases and a black comforter and this pillow case just really stands out with the off white background on my bed. It is an 18 X 18 inch square pillow slip. I used and old bed pillow I had to stuff it with. It was one of the thin pillows so I folded it in half and it went right in. There is a nice hidden zipper across the bottom to let the pillow in and out of. The slip itself is washable.
I received this product free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
