Instant Pot Recipes Cookbook The Best Instant Pot Recipes for Your Whole Family By: Charlie Mason

Listening to cookbooks is a whole new experience for me. This book is filled with excellent sounding recipes and is a great book. The only problem I had was keeping up while trying to make or gather ingredients. I will be sticking with written cookbooks. Now don't get me wrong this book was great, and I did listen to the recipe than I copied it down so I could make it.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Orexi! Feasting at the Modern Greek Table by Theo Michaels

Orexi!
Feasting
at the Modern Greek Table
by
Theo Michaels
Photography
by Mowie Kay
Published
by Ryland Peters & Small
£16.99
/ $19.95

Genre:
Cookbook

In
this enticing collection of more than 80 recipes inspired by the
flavours of Greece and Cyprus, MasterChef UK’s Theo Michaels pays
homage to his family heritage, championing traditional dishes and
sharing his own modern cooking.

Presenting
a feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds, his fresh and
delicious food is organized into chapters entitled Meze, Sea, Land,
Sun, Fire and Sundowners, evoking the Greek way of life.
You
too can eat like a Greek by celebrating simplicity, seasonality,
abundance, healthy balance and most importantly, the joy of sociable
eating.
Beautiful
food sings from these pages: from juicy watermelon, glossy kalamata
olives, to fragrant oregano-roasted meats and delicate fish wrapped
in vine leaves. Choose a selection of mouth-watering dips and sharing
plates to create a Cypriot-style meze; enjoy the freshest fish and
seafood, perfectly grilled or fried and served with nothing more than
a dusting of salt flakes and a squeeze of lemon juice to season; cook
tender yogurt-marinated lamb on skewers over charcoal and wrap it in
fluffy homemade pita to experience souvlaki at home; or whip up
vibrant vegetable and pulse dishes, from cracked wheat pourgouri to
slow-cooked fasolia beans. Finally, make rich Greek desserts the
sweet note to end your meal; serve just enough syrup-drenched baklava
with a bitter black coffee to satisfy that craving or unwind with an
Ouzo Sour or Brandy Sunburn Cocktail.

Let me start of by saying I started drooling on the cover and did not stop until I was through this book. The photos of the dishes in this book could make anyone drool.  I love Greek food. There is a restaurant in St. Augustine Florida I love to visit they have authentic Greek food and it is to die for. With this book I won't have to drive an hour and a half to get it, I can just walk to my kitchen.

There are tons of recipes in this book. Some even have variations. The Tempura Vegetables are one of my favorite.  The Prawns baked in feta and tomato sauce are to die for I know because I made them last night for dinner.

If you love Greek food or even if you have never had any grab this book. The pictures alone will make you fall in love with Greek food.

The recipes are not extremely complex so anyone should be able to make these. Most of the ingredients can be found at local grocery stores as well.

Since I cannot get Theo to come cook for me I am going to do the next best thing and cook according to him.  He has done a absolutely fabulous job bringing me the recipes for foods I love and also for introducing me to some I knew nothing about.
Theo
was born in London and comes from a large Greek Cypriot family. Theo
lived in America for five years, has eaten his way around the world
with a backpack and now lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and
three children.
After
reaching the heats of the semi-finals on Masterchef 2014 Theo
resigned from his position as a Board Member of a PLC to follow his
passion for ‘food’.
Theo
started by hosting his own sell-out pop up restaurant in
Hertfordshire cooking an 8-course taster menu championing modern
Greek cuisine inspired by his family.

When people
couldn’t get a table at Theo’s pop-up restaurant (the waiting
list still remains at over 700) he worked as a private chef creating
exclusive dinner parties for private clients, eventually receiving
recognition in The Financial Times and Telegraph.
Theo’s
private dining and popup restaurant won the regional ‘Best
Lifestyle Service’ award – you can find out more about his
private dining service and read reviews
here).
Theo is now the full time Executive Chef for Elsewhere Events
creating imaginative dining experiences for Elsewhere’s venues and
popup events around the world.
In
Theo’s spare time he has been a guest chef for the Sheraton Grande
in Bangkok, a regular judge for the annual Quality Food Awards and is
frequently in the press and other media including The Food Network,
BBC Radio and usually has one or two other projects up his sleeve.
Theo
Michaels is known for cooking ‘elegant village food’ inspired by
the flavours of Cyprus and his travels but also for creating
innovative family friendly food that satisfies the reality of modern
life.
Theo
has appeared on BBC Breakfast News, Sky TV, The Food Network, is a
regular on BBC 3CR Weekend Kitchen show and is a regular guest chef
on ITV’s This Morning. He is called upon by the national press for
comment and interview on private dining, food and drink trends and
for recipe inspiration. He’s also regularly spotted cooking at food
festivals. Theo’s inspiration for food varies from his roots, his
travels to cooking for his family and his love of anything cooked
over charcoal.

Food Rocks: The Real-Life, Near-Death Tales of The RockNRoll Chef by Simon Dickinson

4*
Chef Simon Dickinson is not just any chef feeding the average gorup of people. He feeds all the Rock n Roll Kings and Queens all over the world. This book takes you to his back stage kitchens where he lets his magic with food go to work. He also adds some recipes for us to try out. Just think you could be making and eating some of the same foods as your favorite bands.

I would of liked some more in depth tales but all in all the book is good. Chef Simon has a great sense of humor and will have you laughing out loud throughout the book as well as drooling over some of his creations. Oh yea and there are pictures!!

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.

Martina's Kitchen Mix by Martina McBride

Most people when they hear the name Martina McBride they think of country music. But this book will show you another side of her. The recipes in the book will have your mouth watering. There are tons of photo's of more than just the food. You get an inside look at Martina's life off stage. The recipes use farm fresh ingredients. I have personally made a couple and they were outstanding and easy to make.

Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book.

Dinner in a DASH by Nancy S. Hughes

4*
This is a really nice cookbook all though it is not for me. Almost everyone of the 75 recipes in the book have peppers of some sort as one of the main ingredients, and almost all of them also have a spiciness to them. I cannot eat eat peppers or spicy foods due to stomach issues. Other than that it is good. The recipes sound very tasty. I love that the book has the nutrition chart for each recipe. I do wish there were some pictures though. I love my Instant Pot and am grabbing pretty much every recipe I can find, which is why I chose this book when I saw it on Netgalley. I am giving it a 4 star rating even though I cannot use many of any of the recipes because the book is very well put together and each recipe is easy to follow.

Instantly Sweet by Barbara Schieving and Marci Buttars

I love my instant pot. It makes dinner a whole lot easier and quicker. As much as I love it, I never really thought about using it for desserts. This book of 75 delicious desserts is the perfect addition to anyone owning a instant pot or even a regular pressure cooker. Not only do you get wonderful desserts you also get color photos, tips and tricks and even troubleshooting for instant pots. This is an awesome book.

Thinner in an Instant Cookbook Nancy S Hughes

My husband bought me a Instant Pot and I have to say I am in love with it. I have been searching high and low for recipes so I can use it a lot. I love how fast meals can be prepared and they can be healthy as well. This book featured a bunch of tasty sounding recipes some of which I've even made. I love the wide array of recipes and that they are all under 350 calories. I do wish there were pictures though. I not only choose my recipes from the ingredients I also choose many of them by the pictures. If it looks good and sounds good I am open to giving it a try ore often.

Tarot of Cocktails: 45 Divine Drink Recipes by Katy Seibel

5*
This is actually a fun book. It is a recipe book featuring 45 drink recipes. The fun part is they are crafted after the Tarot Deck. Certain kitchen items are used to imitate the Tarot Deck. Orange or other citrus slices are the suns. The drink names are also related to the Tarot Deck with names such as  Princess of Moscow. There also photos of each cocktail and tips and tricks for home bartending, like how to correctly mix a drink, preparing fruits and veggies to add to the drinks, types of cups and glasses and so much more. This is a great book year round but would make a super fun addition to Halloween parties and more.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.

Matty Matheson Matty Matheson

5*

Unlike a lot of cookbooks this also has a biography included. You not only get a ton of wonderful recipes you also get to know the cook Matty Matheson, and as a bonus a lot of wonderful photographs. The photos are not just of the wonderful food but there also also personal pictures and pictures of Prince Edward Island.

Both the story and the recipes are great. The recipes go from simple no brainers to fancy restaurant style fare. This is one cookbook you will be doing more then looking through the index to find out whats for dinner.

Home Made Christmas by Yvette van Boven

Homemade for Christmas is a cookbook that was years in the making. Yvette van Boven has written Christmas recipes for years in newspapers and magazines. Now she has brought them together in this yummy book. There are tons of recipes all great for adding to the Holiday table or just a way to bring the holidays to your kitchen year round. I personally love the fact that there are make ahead recipes. I know in my home, I have a small kitchen but I feed about 35 people every year during all the main holidays especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. I run on crunch time trying to get everything together and cooked so having some make ahead recipes is amazing. My right hand has nerve damage so I can only cut, chop, peel, and mix so much at a time.

There are over 100 recipes with step by step instructions. There are menu ideas to plan ahead the whole meal. There are tons of photos as well.

Side note some of the recipes are simple but most do take skill. These recipes are truly bomb shells not really simple country fare. Some of the ingredients are hard or expensive to come by as well.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.

Drink Me! by Nick Perry

Not your normal cocktail recipe book. This one puts a fun spin on mixing drinks. Not only do you get the cocktail recipes but you also get tips and tricks for mixing the perfect drink.

This book tosses you into the middle of Alice and Wonderland, or should. I say the hip bar there. The cocktails are crafted for the characters of the book with fun names and fun or "magical" ingredients.

This would make a great addition to any home bar and would make a fun addition to parties. There are over 20 recipes in this book to choose from or heck just try them all.

My Review: 5*
This is a wonderful cookbook. It is actually written for you and your partner to make a meal together. In my house my husband gets in my way, so I cook he eats. A few weeks ago I had surgery on my right arm and have no use of my it for at least 5 more weeks, and I am right handed. Have you ever tried to peel a potato or slice an onion one handed? Doesn't work so well. With the simple recipes in this book the King of Frozen Lasagna can keep me from starving to death. Most of the ingredients in the recipes are found in just about every pantry as well. So we are actually both in the kitchen cooking together. I tell him what to add and he does it. Maybe this is not the way this book was meant to play out but it is working perfectly for us.

I love how there are full meal ideas with each recipe right down to the wine choice. The book is also broken down into sections so finding a meat recipe, a veggie recipe, and a sauce is so easy. There are 80 recipes in this cookbook.  They are also easy enough to double and triple if you are feeding more then 2.

I have actually made a few of the recipes since receiving this book. My favorite one so far, not that they haven't all been wonderful is, Marinated Pork Tenderloin (pictured below).  This was very easy to prepare and cook. The meat was so juicy and flavorful, my husband and I loved it. He even took leftovers for work the next day and after being reheated in the microwave it was still juicy.

Real Life Dinners by Rachel Hollis

In this day and age it seems we are always on the go. Some days thinking about dinner can be that straw that broke the camels back. This cookbook is perfect for not only those night but with any night. The recipes are quick and easy in the book. There are no real gourmet dinners  but they can taste that way. Flipping through the book I didn't notice a lot of recipes I had never heard of but that's ok too, it can remind me of some things I had not cooked in a while.

These recipes are easy enough that older kids, teens, and even my husband could cook them with no problem. The ingredients listed are easily found in grocery stores. Eating Well Everyday by Peter Gordon

Fabulous Cookbook. This book will have you drooling all the way through it. There are amazing pictures to go along with the surprisingly easy recipes. I love how the recipes in this book feature ingredients that are easy to find in your pantry and at most grocery stores that I have been to at least.

The recipes are broken down into section to make finding what you are looking for so much easier. There is breakfast, soups, Pasta-Rice-noodles, Light meals and salads, dinner, sides and condiments, and dessert.. There is also a index at the back of the book so you can look up recipes either by recipe name or by the main ingredient in most cases. What more could you ask for in a cook book?

The recipes in this cookbook are innovative and fusion inspired. So no this isn't a Betty Crocker cookbook. A lot of the recipes I have never heard of or even thought off adding certain ingredients to others to come up with a tasty dish.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.
