“A little stronger this time?” The warm caress of David’s breath stroked my ear lobe.

“Hmm?” I kept my eyes closed and let myself lean back just a bit more against him. He fiddled slightly with the hem of my sweater.

After a moment, he rested his hand on my hip. “The coffee.”

“What about the coffee?” I asked absently. It had to be the long hours that made me bold as I pressed back against him.

His grasp on the curve of my hip tightened. “Do you want stronger coffee this time?”

“Definitely,” I murmured. David responded with the weight of his own hips, pressing my thighs and lower abdomen against the counter front. We said more with touch and breath in that moment than we had audibly in the whole of the last eleven hours.

I startled as the coffee pot beneath the running faucet overflowed in my hand, dowsing my fingers and wrist with cold water. A key scraped in a lock, and the bell attached to the front door in the adjacent reception area jingled.

Interview with Lily Bly
1. What is your favorite part of this book and why?

The texting debacle is my favorite. I think it gives the characters some true frustration that readers can relate to. Who hasn’t sat there just waiting for a notification or watching those texting bubbles jump?

2. If you could spend time with a character from your book whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?
I’d spend the day with Jean. She works at a small but successful publishing house. I’d ask her to show me all the ins and outs and any secrets. Hopefully, it would make me a more successful writer.

3. If you could have been the author of any book ever written, which book would you choose?
I’d choose Outlander. I wish I was as brilliant as Diana Gabaldon. That first book of the series is an absolute masterpiece of genre blending, research, and unforgettable characters.

4. Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
I use observation, just like any other writer, but my characters are all purely fictional. In the future, I’d also love to write serious historical fiction about real people and events. I love research, and I’d even like to write biographies.

5. What made you want to become a writer?
I love the transcendental experience of reading an amazing book. The characters become almost real to you. (Ha. At least, I think that happens to other people. Maybe I’m a little too fond of The Twilight Zone. ;-) I want to create that experience for readers. It’s still early in my career, and I’m learning more about the writing craft with every page I read and write. Stick with me, and I’ll get you there someday, readers.
