This is the 2nd book in the series by Gail Z. Martin and also the 2nd book I have listened to. This book is honestly as good as the first. I love it when a series starts out great and stays that way. If book 3 is anywhere as good as books 1 and 2 Gail has a real winner on her hands.
The series is about an eclectic antique shop that not only finds unusual and awesome gifts and antiques but they also find cursed and hanted items as well. When they find a cursed or haunted item they try to make the item safe again to be in the hands of others. If they cannot rid the item of the curse they will do their very best to destroy the curse and the item. Sometimes they cause huge explosions ridding the object of the curse which are marked up to natural disasters.
The shop is over 300 years old and a has been passed down through the generations. Cassidy Kincaide is the current owner along with her best friend and co manager Teag, and a 600 year old vampire, Soren. The shop and book takes place in historic and haunted Charleston. This book has 3 novella's and 4 short stories. All of which are well worth taking a listen to.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Gail Z. Martin. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

- Secret Job: Getting cursed and haunted objects out of the wrong hands and saving the world from supernatural threats as part of the Alliance, a secret coalition of mortals and immortals.
Q: Aren’t you kind of young to be running an antique shop?
A: I inherited Trifles and Folly from my Uncle Evan. It’s been in our family for 350 years. The store passes to the next person with the abilities to do the job.
Q: When you say ‘abilities’...
A: Uncle Evan was a psychometric, like me. I can read the history—and magic—from an object by touching it.
Q: So Trifles and Folly isn’t your average antique store?
A: It’s a great antique store, but it’s a lot more. We help get cursed and haunted objects out of the wrong hands and protect Charleston—and the world—from supernatural threats.
Q: You have some interesting allies. Can you tell us a little more about them?
A: Teag Logan is my best friend, and he has Weaver magic, meaning he can weave spells into cloth and data into information, making him a hell of a hacker. My business partner, Sorren, founded the original Trifles and Folly 350 years ago. He’s a nearly 600 year-old vampire. We have other friends who have a variety of paranormal abilities who help us do the job.
Q: I’ve heard that you’re particularly interested in antique buttons?
A: Buttons are my favorite! Because they’re worn close to the skin for long periods of time, buttons soak up a lot of a person’s resonance. I often get the clearest sense of a long-ago person from a button.
Q: What’s your favorite part of running Trifles and Folly?
A: I enjoy helping people find just the right antique item, and knowing that anything we sell is safe from bad magic or dark energy. Our other work—saving the world—is dangerous, but I have a special talent that I can use to protect people, so there’s a responsibility that goes along with that. I’m happy to do my part.
