The Fix-it-Shop By: Friedrich Wilhelm

This book was very well written. I listened to the whole book in one setting. The book was written by  Friedrich Wilhelm. He was one of the boys that the story is written about. This a first hand account of what happened to these 3 teenage boys, their lives, and the lives of their friends and family.

The audiobook was narrated by Chris Abernathy. He grabbed me at the first syllable of the book and I was sorry to have him stop speaking to me at the end. He has really done an awesome job bringing Freddy's story to life.   I will be looking for more books narrated by Chris.

In 1982 in the  small town of Clarksdale Tennessee, 3 teenage boys (Brothers Freddy age 15, Doug age 16, and their Friend Charles age 16) find themselves in the middle of a sting operation.  They were falsely accused of multiple charges on grand Larceny and 1 was even charged with dealing drugs. The boys were arrested and denied bail. When they received a court date they were given an impartial judge. The corruption in this tiny town is beyond anything anyone could believe.

Luckily for these boys an older brother of Freddy called the ACLU in to help. If it was not for them Freddy, his brother Doug, ad Charles may still be in prison for these false charges.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
