BOUTIQUELOVIN Silver-Tone Real Leaf Dangle Lightweight Earring

I love earrings. I really love earrings that dangle. And mostly I really love Pretty earrings that dangle. I get all of that with this pair of earrings. They are so pretty. I love how they actually look like real leaves. The veins and texture look so realistic. The silver color against my dark brown hair really stands out. They also catch the light.

These are a bit bigger then I thought they would be but I will still wear them. They hand almost to my shoulder, I love the swing they have to them when I move my head. Each earring is about 2 inches long give or take, and about 1 inch wide give or take a few millimeters.

There look like they would be heavy but they are feather light. I hardly notice the weight while wearing them.

These earrings have a french hook to hold them in your ears. One of the most unique thing about these earrings are no 2 are exactly the same. They are made like natural leaves, when no 2 are the same. They are not a lot different and they are very close in size but there are subtle differences to each earring.

The earrings come in a very bright velvet pouch to protect them not only during shipping but when you are not wearing them. These are beautiful earrings. I am keeping mine for myself but these would also make a great gift.

KISSPAT Real Premium Peacock Feather Headband

This is a beautiful peacock feather headband. There are the tips or the eye of the Peacock feather of 12 feathers attached to a felt backing. There is also a rhinestone encrusted pearl like stone in the lower center of the feather piece. The feather have been trimmed down to make this beautiful headband.

The band and the feather piece are separate pieces. The headband is a metal headband covered in soft silk type material. The feather piece has a loop piece on the back that you feed the headband through. I like this because I wear the feathers lower or higher as I want. The feather piece does lay flat against my hair when I am wearing it. I can wear the feathers on either side of my head as I see fit.

This headband comes shipped in a very nice padded gift box. The feather piece is inside of a plastic bag so it can not be bounced around and damaged. The headband is not attached. There is a velvet padded piece at the bottom of the box and a sponge piece inside the top of the box. There is also a pretty bow on top of the box. This headband would make a very nice gift for any girl, teen, or woman.

Peter Pan Long Hot Water Bottle

This hot water bottle is 31 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide. The water bottle is a heavy duty plastic, mine is fuscia colored but it is transparent so you can see through it. The water bottle holds about 2 1/2 liters of water. This is a reusable water bottle.

It comes with a super soft removable cover. The cover is a plush. It is like cuddling to a warm stuffed animal. There is a long ribbon at the top of the cover that can be tied around the top of the bottle. There is also a loop at the bottom of the cover so it can be wrapped around the body and tied with the straps of having to be held into place. This can be tied around the waist for belly or back pain, it can be tied over the shoulder for shoulder and upper back pain. It can be looped around the neck for neck pain. It can also be wrapped around a leg or arm.

Winter is coming too and this would be really great during long cold winter days. This is great for anyone with pain. It would also make a great gift.

3 PCS Christmas Stockings 18" Xmas Party Mantel Decorations Ornaments

I love Christmas. I love decorating. I love wrapping gifts. I love seeing the happy faces of people I am giving gifts to. Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without a stocking though. We have a large family. It's my husband and I, our 4 kids, 3 of whom have a spouse, and the fun part is the 11 Grand Kids!! Every year I fill a stocking for each and every one of our family members. I do keep the actual stocking after they have taken their goodies, but stocking wear out after just a few uses. Which is mainly my fault because my husband tells me I over fill them, and one stocking gets mailed out every year to one of our Grand Kids who does not live near us. So I am replacing at least a few stockings every year.

This year I saw this set of 3 adorable stockings and knew these were this years replacements. These stockings are actually thicker then some of the stocking I already have. They are made of felt. They have a satin looking hanging ribbon at the top. In the set you get the bear, the snowman, and the Santa stocking. The pieces and parts are all glued on but they are on very well. I pulled at the parts and none came loose. I like how the top of the stocking has a white felt piece that looks like snow and icicles, I will be using glitter paint to write the name of one of our family members in that area.

I cannot wait to start decorating for Christmas and display these adorable stockings.

Royal Formula Argan Oil Hair Mask

This Royal Formula Argan Oil Hair Mask is great for hydrating dry hair, it moisturizes hair, it helps repair damaged hair. It helps smooth out the frizz, it makes hair soft, shiny and silky.  It smells great too. It is very simple to use just wash your hair as usual, apply a good amount to wet hair, and rinse out after 5 minutes. This can be used up to 3 times per week.

I have very frizzy dry hair. No this did not fix my hair after one or even 2 uses, but it did help. My hair is also very coarse and sometimes feels like straw. It did make my hair feel softer after just one use. The 2nd time I used it I could tell even more of a difference to conditioner alone. My hair was even softer then after the first use. I could also see a difference in the frizzyness.

I love the ease of this. It is really no different then using a standard conditioner. I am usually in the shower more then 5 minutes after I wash my hair, so it really takes no longer. I did read that hair masks can be used and left in longer for a deep condition. I am going to try that when I have a day I am setting around with nothing to do other then pamper myself. I was also told by a hair dresser you could actually apply this then put a plastic shower cap over your hair and leave it on as long as you wanted to and it would give you a really deep condition.

This does contain 100% pure organic Argan and Almond oil. There is other non organic things also in it as well.

VBT: Snakes Can't Run by Ed Lin

Snakes Can't Run
by Ed Lin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE:   FICTION/Mystery & Thriller
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Set in New York City in 1976, Snakes Can't Run finds NYPD detective Robert Chow still haunted by the horrors of his past and relegated to tedious undercover work. When the bodies of two undocumented Chinese men are found under the Brooklyn Bridge underpass, Chow is drawn into the case. Most of the officers in his precinct are concerned with a terrorist group targeting the police, but Chow's investigation puts him on the trail of a ring of ruthless human smugglers who call themselves the snakeheads. As Chow gets closer to solving the murder, dangerous truths about his own family's past begin to emerge. Steeped in retro urban attitude, and ripe with commentary on minorities' roles in American society, this gritty procedural will appeal to fans of George Pelecanos and S.J. Rozan.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt Two:
By the time I got to Henry Street under the Manhattan Bridge overpass, one black-and-white and one unmarked police car were already there.
Peepshow was standing at the edge of the crime scene, twirling his baton, the one thing he could do without fucking up. "Keep moving, keep moving!" he yelled to the murmuring Chinese people. He touched his cap when he saw me. I nodded back.
Two bodies, Asian men in their twenties, lay on their sides. Both had their hands tied behind them with wire. They didn't look fresh, and one man's tattoo behind his ears stood out in sharp contrast to the white bloodless flesh of his neck.
I walked up to English, but before I could say anything he put a hand on my shoulde.r
"These fucking bag monkeys won't let me past the tape," he said, pointing out the forensic team collecting samples around the bodies.
"They're just trying to do their job right."
"I'll do their job for them right now. These guys died from gunshot wounds and the bodies were dumped here. You can analyze for blood type all you want, but you can't find the criminals looking down a microscope."
"I hear you."
"You know what solves crimes?"
"What?"
"Shoe leather. Walking around and asking questions."
"All right."
"Chow," he said, coming in closer. "You see the guy in the crowd in the red knit shirt smoking a cigarette?"
"Yeah," I said, knowing better than to look immediately.
"I don't like his face. Too smug."
"I'll follow him."
Interview with Ed Lin
Where do you get inspiration for your stories?
I’m trying to take conversations that we have in public now (such as immigration and documentation) and drop them into a fictional universe (New York’s Chinatown in 1976) where readers can have a meta-experience while reading now.
How did you do research for your book?
I only watched films and tv shows from 1976 and before as well as reading books/magazines/newspapers from that year. Things were nuts back then!
Do you have another profession besides writing?
I edit business news for my day job and it’s something I enjoy very much.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
I would go back to the middle of the 2007-2009 recession and clean up (assuming I was able to retain the knowledge of what stocks bottomed-out then that subsequently rose).
What is your next project?
I write a Taipei-based mystery series for Soho Crime. I’m currently working on the third book to follow Ghost Month and Incensed.
Reviews:
I've
just finished the soul guide and I'm feeling very impatient for book
2! This is a great fantasy read, intriguing, with characters you
really want to know more about! It's hard to believe this is the
author’s first novel, there's so much detail and depth to the
characters and story. Well worth a read.”
Wow!
I could not put this book down. The way Kelly writes encaptures you
and takes you to another place. Her vivid imagination and the way she
describes every detail enables you to picture in your mind being
there with Sybil on this spiritual journey. It only took me two days
to read and I can't wait for the next instalment to see what happens
next.”
This
book, well written and with a great story line, had me hooked from
the start and I can't wait for the next one in the series.”
The
Soul Guide is a unique, fast-paced, beautifully-written book.
Immediately it sucked me in, and it was hard to put down. Kelly Stock
has woven together a story with interesting characters and a truly
imaginative plot. In a way, reading this felt like gazing upon
beautiful artwork. Every chapter revealed a new layer of the story,
intriguing me further and making me even more curious about what was
to come. What a treat this book was to read!”
reeling from the secrets revealed within the Veil, Sybil finds
reality and become the warrior she was destined to be. There are far
have the option of turning a blind eye, especially when the 'worst
things' involve her own beloved dad.
With
Estelle's revelations, action must be taken. Can the unlikely group
work together to save the children locked away in the depths of the
Masters home or will the Mephisto succeed in tearing them apart? Read
book two of The Soul Guide series to find out.
In
Tortured Souls, alliances are made, friendships are forged, hearts
are broken and the battle of light versus dark has truly begun.
Born
and bred in London, UK, Kelly is a 38 year-old multitasking mum,
wife, colleague, friend, daughter, sister and lastly, but by no means
least, writer.
Her love of
writing started when she began her Creative Writing degree at North
London University in 1999. She hasn’t always wanted to be a writer,
her first job of choice was a Vet, but that dream died when she
realized she was allergic to most, small, furry animals. But, she has
always loved to read, and that’s where her passion for writing
began.
After finishing her
degree in 2002, she didn’t put pen to paper, or fingers to
keyboard, until thirteen years later. Life, in all its wonderful
glory got in the way. Then when her youngest went to school full-time
she had precious time on her hands. It was during this time that
Bertram, Sybil, and Alec were conceived and her first novel, The Soul
Guide was born.
In her spare time you
can find Kelly, reading, bringing up her kids the best way she knows
how, and trying desperately not to make a fool of herself on social
media.
Guest post with Kelly Stock
What is something unique/quirky about you?
I have a ‘thing’ for bees. There is a good reason which I describe in detail on my blog here:  https://kellystockauthor.wordpress.com/2017/02/12/bees-and-what-they-signify-to-me/
Needless to say, bees are an important symbol in my books. Once you read this article and, hopefully, my books you’ll understand!
What are some of your pet peeves?
Before kids I was a bit OCD, and would clean everything. I hated a messy house. Very shortly after having kids I realised that there was more to life than a clean house and my obsession ended pretty abruptly.
Now, I get annoyed with people who put unnecessary pressure on their children to ‘achieve’ academically. Don’t get me wrong, if your child is that way inclined then fantastic I’m all for encouragement and support, but those who push their kids to do stuff they don’t want to do. Well, that is my biggest pet peeve!
What are your top 10 favorite books/authors?
When I was a teenager I devoured Stephen King’s books. My favorites were the Rats books. I would terrify myself staying up to read them in the pitch black of night. My tastes now have changed somewhat and I like fantasy books. Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse series is my all-time favourite. I adore Sarah J Maas books and I am beginning to devour Jaymin Eve’s books too.
What inspired you to write this book?
I’ve always wanted to write. I actually completed a Creative Writing / English literature degree back in 2002, but didn’t put any of it to good use until 2015 when I began to write The Soul Guide. Family life and kids happened. It was only once my youngest started full-time school that I suddenly had precious time on my hands for two days in the week when I wasn’t working. It was then a character appeared in my head (Bertram) and the story grew from him. Bertram is based on my father who was a caretaker of a secondary school for 25 years before he retired. I was always fascinated by the bunch of keys he had and the doors those keys could open. Those thoughts soon turned into magic keys and doorways that could lead to fantastical places and the story sprung from there. Not only that, my obsession with bees and their symbolism in certain cultures got me thinking about all things spiritual and souls… and the story just grew into what it has become today.
Interestingly, I am not a religious person, but I do believe that people have souls and I wanted to explore that further. The Soul Guide series is ultimately an urban fantasy, but I’ve drawn from some myths (the Three Sisters are loosely based on the Greek thriae bee goddesses) and cultural beliefs and thrown them together to make, what I hope, is an interesting story.
What can we expect from you in the future?
I will be plotting and writing Save Our Souls – the third book in The Soul Guide series with the aim to get it released sometime in 2018. This will be the final book of the series, although I think there may be a fourth book, a novella called Soul Survivors that I will pen to round the series up, but it’s early days yet.
I also write under a pen name – Bea Paige (there’s another bee reference) and am currently working on a new fifteen book series called Sisters of Hex. These will be paranormal romance books with specific concentration on a growing genre of reverse harem. One female, multiple male lovers. However, I didn’t want it just to concentrate on the saucy side, I do want there to be a well thought out story and world building. So this series will move between Ever Vale a parallel world, and Earth. There will be wolf-shifters, vampires, demi-gods, fae and angels. There is a prophecy to be fulfilled and a curse to be broken. There will be an evil Queen, witches, forbidden forests mystery and magic. I hope this series will appeal to a range of readers. The first book of the series, Accacia’s Curse will release on the 27th November and I am super excited about it.
