All he wanted was to break through her tough exterior.

All she wanted was to be left alone.

When they finally got together, it was everything.

Explosive. Epic. Delicious.

And then he found his calling. The military.

And she was proud. And jealous. She wanted him home. With her. Not half-way around the world where their relationship was defined by quick calls, video chats, and letters.

She knew it was wrong. She knew it was crazy. She asked him to choose.

And he did.

Falling head-over-heels in love was the easy part. Sweet. Sexy. Good.

Loving a man who is always gone, deployed, and proud to serve his country takes courage and sacrifice.

All she wanted was for him to stay.

STAY WITH ME is a story told in parts. We’ll hope you’ll stay with us as the story develops, and we encourage you to share STAY WITH ME with your friends.

EXCERPT:

My father broke my mother’s heart before I was born, and now, some twenty years later, she is still not over it. Theodore Loren Roberts was a twenty-year old Navy pilot when they met. After only seven months of dating, he asked my grandpa for my mother’s hand in marriage. Grandpa made them wait until Mom was eighteen. On the evening of my mom’s eighteenth birthday, Mom and Dad married. A month later, Dad was deployed and never came back. His helicopter crashed, and details about what and how are why are still sketchy to this day. They never recovered his body. They gave Mom a flag and awarded Dad a medal posthumously. I’m told, my father is a hero.

Though she rarely talked about him, I would sometimes hear her cry herself to sleep at night. When I found her in the morning, she would be fast asleep, holding his photo to her chest. He never even knew she was pregnant. She never had a chance to tell him. They were over before they had even begun.

I’d always wondered why we’d stayed here, where military families and bases abound. Every day there were constant reminders of the entity that took my father from us. My father, a man I had only known through a few photos, and yet, felt mildly connected to, was a constant but distant presence in my life. And yet, despite our pain, Mom still found it in her heart to volunteer to help new, young military wives with their kids, help them get settled, and stay sane.

People had always let us know how sorry they were for us and told us how brave we are. I remember being pitied by school counselors and teachers in grade school for not having a father and also being made fun of middle school. One year, someone started a rumor that my mom and I were abandoned and hat Dad had left us and wasn’t such a hero after all. Kids could certainly be cruel, and adults, even well-meaning ones, even more so.

Military life could be hard and lonely, and Mom didn’t want that for me. And even though Mom didn’t mention Dad much, whenever a guy with a crew cut showed the least little bit of interest in me, she would admonish me with a shake of her head and a stern glance. When we were alone, she would say, “I’m sure you know better than to get involved with a man in the military.”

Mom was right. I knew that. I would never want anyone to go through what she did or for them to struggle like we had, just to get by. My father’s death took nearly everything from us, and as I got older, my own resentment and pain was too much for my mom to take. She said I was selfish and too wrapped up in my own pain to see clearly. Maybe she was right. Or maybe I was just pissed that she had put so much stock into what a man could do for her, that she had subjected us both to an uncertain future with a man who could be killed at any time. Or maybe it was the fact that she had never gotten over him, that she had allowed herself to fall so deeply in love with a man whose death ruined for her life. Ruined both our lives. Or maybe it was because, in my heart, I knew I would never find that kind of love, ever.

Mom never remarried. Never even so much as had a date, as far as I know. Every now and again, she’d mention how Tom Selleck could ring her bell any day, but that’s about it. It’s like she had forgotten what it’s like to be loved. Or like her heart was forever broken and could never be repaired. I think the whole situation was too much for us both. When she was home, I was at school or working. When we were both home, we usually got into arguments over something stupid. Being around my mother was unbearable and sad.

So, I moved away instead of staying home for college like most of the kids around here. After three and a half years of being away, our relationship has improved. Tolerable. I now looked forward to seeing her when she has time to meet me for lunch or cook me the occasional dinner. What can I say? I’m a Southern girl. My happy moments revolve around food and country music.

I was about as far from home as I could get without leaving the state. If I’d stayed closer to home, my relationship with my mother would likely be irreparable by now. As much as I hated to admit it, her voice was always in my head. Warning me. Making sure I didn’t make the same mistakes she had. And now that I was in college and about to graduate, I was free to make my own mistakes without her judgment and criticism.

I’d managed to make it to my senior year without screwing things up too badly by refusing to date anyone — period. I’d gone out on group dates, or hung out with guys, but that was about the extent of it. To describe me as a prude would be misreading the situation. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to have sex. I could manage that on my own. I just wanted to wait. For the right guy, the right time, and the right reason.

And, as my luck would have it, all of that would change, and I would find myself falling for the wrong guy, at the wrong time, and for the wrong reason. I was going to graduate from college in a few months, and the last thing I needed was complications. And if there was one thing I had learned from my roommate and my mother: relationships were always complicated.

EXCERPT:

After the audience stops clapping, the announcer looks down at his list. “Next… sixteen-year-old fire user Morgan le Fay from Tintagel!”

I swallow. I won’t have time to warm up after all. I rush toward the stage, trying to keep my head up though my legs are quivering. The crowd of people from all over the country is a sea of shadows below me. Camera flashes glimmer like stars. Below the stage, the King’s Cabinet members are seated, wearing fancy suits, gesturing with their cigars. Though they are chatting with each other, they eye me intently.

Music plays: aggressive drums and a flute that follow along with a woman’s haunting song. Putting my hands up, I focus on my fingertips turning as hot as coals. As I concentrate, I grow heavy as force accumulates throughout my body. This is my favorite feeling in the world. Hot energy spawns in my heart like the sun and travels through my arms. My veins burn. My body becomes like the earth, sizzling with flowing lava. The energy sails to my hands, down to my fingertips. Fssssttt—fire sputters to life centimeters from my fingernails. Instantly I become as light as a feather, all the weight having been channeled out of me. The crowd oohs and aahs.

I dance and whirl, trailing fire behind me. It arcs high into the air, drawing gasps from the crowd. Sweat trickles down my forehead, but I do my best to look elegant as I create brilliant, roaring ribbons of fire that hug and spin around my body. I have never performed fire in front of anybody before, and I feel like I’m revealing a big secret. Out of the corner of my eye a young man peers at me from backstage, his eyes full of wonder. I glance at him only once through a blur of gold and red sparks.

Letting the fire retreat back into my hands, I bow as the music finishes, making sure to keep my hot, and possibly still-sparking, hands away from my clothes. Setting my outfit ablaze would be an embarrassing finish. The crowd erupts in applause and cheers. I crack a smile and bow again.

As I walk backstage the young man who was staring at me beams with perfect teeth. Suddenly the temperature in my face rises, and it doesn’t help that I just got done working with fire.

Book Tour "To Dodge a Duke" by Naomi Boom

About the Book
Title: To Dodge a Duke
Author: Naomi Boom
Genre: Historical Romance / Regency
When a duke gets a chance to pursue a lady as someone else, he would be a fool not to take it.

Logan Eastworth, the Tenth Duke of Waking, returns to England to find a woman to marry. When Miss Eleanor Ashford assumes he holds the title of baronet, he does not correct her error. Instead, he plays on her misconception and arranges a house party where he can make her fall for him and not his title.

Miss Ashford desires a marriage of convenience to an earl or higher. Not to some low-life baronet with an estate in the far reaches of England. She has no time for love, even if the green-eyed baronet with a charming smile tries to convince her otherwise.

Miss Ashford has a choice to make. To wed a duke or the baronet setting her heart aflame. Her choice might not be as simple as she believes.

Author Bio
Naomi Boom is an author who never expected to love writing. Her inspiration struck when she searched for the perfect historical romance novel to read. Nothing sounded appealing, so she decided to write her own. That one novel has morphed into a series, and hopefully many, many more.

She resides in her home state of South Dakota with her husband and toddler. Her dream is to someday find an acreage where she can raise chickens, and continue her writing.C:\Users\Majanka\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.Word\IMG_2714.jpg

Book Excerpt

Logan smirked and stood to tower over her. “I think you welcomed my advances very much. I would prove it if you ask.”

Eleanor glared at him and took a step back. “That is unnecessary. I already know I did not appreciate the first example.” Besides, even if she had enjoyed it, it would be inadvisable for her to allow another kiss to transpire. His smirk remained glued to his handsome face, and she said, “Oh, stop it. You think much too highly of yourself.”

He chuckled in response and took a step closer. Eleanor, naturally, took another step back until he reached out and pulled her to him in a rough embrace. Incensed, Eleanor asked, “Who do you think you are? There is never an acceptable time for you to behave so impudently toward me!”

His arm imprisoned her as he smiled down on her. “Isn’t there? Would it have been preferable to fall into the ravine?”

She swung her head around to find they stood mere steps from the rushing waters. She gulped and turned to face him. Obviously, it was best to stay away from the ravine, but she would not concede his point. “Yes. It would have been much more desirable.”

Interview with Naomi Boom

1.     What is your favorite part of this book and why?

My favorite part would have to be the moment Logan decides to marry Eleanor. He knows he has to marry, and this is his one chance to find someone unaware of his title. Eleanor, of course, wants nothing to do with him. This might sound silly, but I love a gentleman actively in pursuit of an uninterested lady.

2.     If you could spend time with a character from your book whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?

I would want to spend time with one of the side characters, Lady Opal Gammon, hence the reason she might spawn another series. I found her so entertaining when writing about her, I just know she would have some good stories to share. So, if I could spend a day with her, I think I’d enjoy an afternoon tea and chat with her.

3.     If you could have been the author of any book ever written, which book would you choose?

I would love to steal away Never Trust a Rake by Annie Burrows. I know I should choose a classic novel like Pride and Prejudice, but realistically, I am in love with Never Trust a Rake. The characters seem so real to me, and I can’t help but re-read it on occasion.

4.     Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

Certain mannerisms come from people I know, but for the most part, the characters are all my imagination’s fault. For example, one of Eleanor’s traits is speaking cruelly without intending to. That particular problem of hers can be linked directly to someone I know. The rest of Eleanor’s personality is original.
5.     What made you want to become a writer?

I never imagined I’d write novels. The inclination hit me one day when I couldn’t find a book to read. I had certain criteria for a novel, and none met that criteria. That was the moment I thought, hey, maybe I should write something. By the time I finished writing To Tempt a Viscount, I was hooked on writing. It’s addictive, so be warned.

cover for Three Heart Echo by Keary Taylor

Three Heart Echo
Keary Taylor
Publication date: September 12th 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Suspense

The demented thing is that this evolved from the most sickly sweet, heart-wrenching love story you’ve ever heard. I went to Sully because I just couldn’t get over Jack’s murder. I couldn’t deal.

Iona came to me for the same reason most did: because there was no closure. A love cut too short. She begged me to open the gate between the living and the dead.

We should have left it shut.

This. This is not a love story. This is a possession story. A story of lies. A story of two faces. This is a story of death and violent echoes from the other side.

And there will be no happy endings.

Hegeo Womens Casual V-Neck Geometic Pattern Print Elasticated design and Waist Tie Slim Chiffon Dress

I am in love with the geometric printed dress. It is a little on the short side for me personally but it looks great with a pair of black leggings. The material is chiffon and is super soft and silky feeling on my skin. The dress has 3/4 sleeves with a button on them. The front of the bodice of the dress has 7 buttons up the front and there is a tie at the waist. I ran the dress through the washer on gentle cycle and let it hang to dry and it came out perfect. The was no fading, color bleed, or shrinking. When the package came in the mail I had no idea what was inside it felt hard. The dress came in a shrink wrapped package. I am very impressed with everything about this dress from the packaging to the size. I did go up one size and it fit's perfectly.

Simply Essentials Slant Tweezers with Case

5*
Everybody needs a good pair of tweezers. I have bought several sets in my lifetime some have been great others have been awful. Nothing worse then trying to grab a stray hair and the tips don't come together. This is a slanted set of metal tweezers. Ther are made of stainless steel. They are painted hot pink and so pretty, I hate to hide them in my purse. The tips are sharp. All of which make it easy to grab that single hair and get rid of it. They can also be used for splinters.

I have to admit that my favorite part of this set is actually the case. The case is a put together very well. It is sewn down each side and has a velcro closure. I can't tell you the times I have stuck my hand in my purse and had tweezers cut me or stab me under my fingernails. I don't have to worry about that with this awesome case.

You get this great set of tweezers, the awesome case, and a download link for a free ebook on "The Secret To Using Tweezers".

These would make a great part of a beauty gift basket or a stocking stuffer during the holidays.
