Viking for Hire by: Jo Gafford Review

Viking for Hire is a short story (60 pages). It is in the historical Romance genre. I personally think Jo Gafford done a great job in writing the story. Every page kept you interest in it. Some short stories feel like they had a set amount of pages and couldn't go over by even one word, rushed I guess you would call it, This story was not like that at all,  it was well thought out and planned.
The story is about Branwyn O’Tyre, she is a practicing witch whose estranged half brother The bishop of Exeter has come to arrest, under the ruse of wanting her to do a healing ritual for him.  Branwyn drinks a protection potion before he comes, which Eirik sees her do. Branwyn then hires Eirik to give her safe passage away from her brother's clutches. Eirik has a need for her witchcraft and agrees.
Eirik is cursed. Most men would probably like his curse, every woman who sees him falls madly in love with him. Eirik is a gentleman though and does no.t take advantage o f women under the spell.
It is up to Branwyn to break this curse, and she must do it before she looses herself to the curse.

I was given my copy of The Viking For Hire in exchange for my honest review.

BLURB:

Branwyn O’Tyre’s estranged brother summons her for a healing ritual. Fearing he actually plans to arrest her for witchcraft, she drinks a protection potion before he arrives.

Eirik, a Viking sea captain pretending slumber in the tavern corner, witnesses Branwyn’s magic and offers her safe passage from Exeter if she will reverse a curse that plagues him. Alas, every woman who touches him falls madly but falsely in love with him.

There’s only one hitch: If she fails, Branwyn’s heart will fall prey to the same madness...forever!

EXCERPT:

Two of the knights separated themselves from the group and rushed forward. Alas, the one on the left slipped on a puddle of ale and crashed into his comrade. Their helmets collided with a dull clanking sound that made Branwyn wince. Then they crumpled to the floor.

The Viking stranger emitted a muffled guffaw and appraised her carefully. “Methinks I can guess the nature of the potion now. Come, lass. ’Tis getting late. We’d best be on our way.” The rogue actually crooked an arm at her as if preparing for a stroll in the park.

Branwyn could only gape.

With a sigh of resignation, he reached down to clasp her hand and drew it through his arm. She gasped as a powerful awareness sizzled through her. ‘Twas sharp and immediate, stopping just sort of pain. Branwyn’s shocked gaze locked with the stranger’s. When the clarity of his blue gaze took on a slightly dazed sheen, she realized he felt it, too.

Lord help her, but she was instantly drawn to his scent — a mixture of smoke and salt and mystery — as well as his strength. The pulse of his heart, the hum of blood through his veins, the aura of power and danger surrounding him. The air around them fairly crackled with the potency of their contact as skin brushed over skin.

Alarmed, Branwyn tried to tug her hand free, but the stranger clamped his arm tighter to his side, imprisoning her. She nearly cried out from the sensations flooding her. Light. Heat. Joy.

“Pray forgive the liberties I take with ye, lass,” he muttered in her ear. His breath on her lobe brought her just shy of the point of collapsing. “I will explain as soon as we are clear of this arse.” He steered her towards the door.

Excerpt :
I came over to her in an effort to console her, and I doubted I’d even succeeded at that. In trying to offer her comfort, I’d contorted myself into an awkward position, trapping us between her chair and mine. The helmet she flung at me balanced on one leg, and my opposite elbow stuck out at an unnatural angle as I struggled to hold her in some sort of odd embrace. Terrific.

Her tears pooled on my upper arm, soaking through the shirt. “I’m sorry,” she kept repeating, her voice strained and muffled. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry….”

“No, I’m sorry.” My throat constricted, and for a second I thought I’d start crying with her. I grieved for a man I never met, and twinges of guilt tugged at my conscience as I thought about all the times I’d envied him. Coupled with the blatant shortcomings in operating Elysium’s software, I was not feeling very good about myself. “I’m sorry I let you down.” One arm tightened around her and shame pushed the next selfish words out. “I wanted to give you something no one else could. I wanted to let you be happy again.”

Little by little, April calmed down. She stopped shaking and her breathing slowed. Lifting her head, she stared at me with red-rimmed eyes. Something shifted within their gray depths, and she moved as if to stand. I expected her to disentangle herself from me and gather her belongings, but she leaned against the edge of the chair, wedging one knee between my thigh and the armrest. Before I could react, her hands were in my hair, her tongue was in my mouth, and she kissed me with a blazing intensity as if it was the last thing she’d ever do.

What?

Kiss her back, you idiot.

#DENOTEK Windshield Car Phone Mount Holder Review

I really like this mount. It attaches firmly onto the dash or the window, takes bout 2 seconds to install. It comes with 1 metal strips 1 rectangle and a round one. The round one does have a adhesive strip on it for a permanent mount, but I like to change phones, I like to change cases, and I like different devices, so I just slipped the magnet in between my phone and my case and it worked great. Just as good as if I would of stuck it to my phone. This is a small base so it does not hog up your whole dash. I think its a great gadget, small. sturdy, and non obtrusive. I really like this phone mount and it will hold even the larger phones. Also the phone base will turn a full 360 degrees, so you can put your phone at any angle you need.  I was given this phone mount in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

New Radiance Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review

I received my bottle of New Radiance Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum as a sample to try and give an honest review.
I have only been using this product for a few days but I my face is softer already. There is really no smell to this product, it does not sting or burn. It comes in an Amber glass bottle to help protect the serum from harsh lighting. I love the eye dropper since you only need 3 or 4 drops. The liquid is a little thicker then water but not like syrup. It isn't totally clear, just a touch cloudy in color. It does not contain alcohol, parabens or sulfates The shipping was super quick, the packaging was very protective. Seems like a great product and company.

Mega Mesh Premium Magnetic Screen Door

I was given this product in exchange for an honest review.

I was able to put the Magnetic Screen Door up all by myself, so it gets and A+++ for ease of installation. It also gets an A+++ for ease of use just walk through it and it opens and shuts when you get through it. My dogs were a little leary of it at first but after showing them several times they have gotten used to it. My Grand kids on the other hand think its a toy to run through. And it hasn't fallen yet so another A+++ for being sturdy I live in Florida in the National Forest area and the bugs are crazy even with screened in porches flies, mosquitoes and other bugs still find their way in, but this screen door seems to help a lot. All in all I think its a great product.

Pratisphere Ice Sphere Molds review

Not only is this a great idea they are super cool too serve to guests. The best part is they are solid ice, and do melt as quickly as regular ice cubes so they do not water down your drink. The mold is made of plastic, and the top is made of silicone. You get 4 molds and 4 silicone lids in the box. These have removable lids and a fill line, another set I have you have to fill through the tiny holes on top and it takes a while. With these remove the line fill the plastic base up to the fill line, put the cap back in, then stack in the freezer. I received this in exchange for my honest review.
