Majestic Bombay - Stainless Steel Ingrown Hair & Splinter tweezer Review

These are great tweezers for splinters I know for sure, I got a splinter in my finger off of a barn door and could not get it out for a few days, when these finally arrived, I had the splinter out in about 3 pinches.
The tips at the end of the tweezers are very pointed and sharp. They are large tweezers about 4 inches long. They are made of stainless steel, and painted a bright yellow. They come in a plastic bag type holder and have a plastic tip protector.
I have not had a chance to use them on an ingrown hair yet but I am pretty sure they will do a great job on that too.
I did receive my pain in exchange for my honest review.

She led me to the other side of the cafeteria where a wall separated us from everyone else. We made our way towards two separate tables. Ricky was sitting at a table by himself, and there were four other people sitting at the other table. I was getting ready to walk in when Flora stopped me.
“You see them four at that table.” She pointed to all of them.
“Yes.”
“That’s Montigo.” She pointed to a guy with skin the color of melted chocolate, and brown eyes. He was tall like Ricky and had black dreads in his hair. “His girlfriend is Tess.” She pointed to a white chick that had red hair, green eyes and freckled skin. “She’s a hot head. That’s Lanisha over there.” She rolled her eyes at her. She pointed to this light skin black chick with crazy brownish green eyes and brown hair. “Last but not least, there’s Simon, who is the nicest of  the group, if you ask me.” She pointed to this white guy. He had pretty blue eyes and blond hair.
“What are their talents?” She was about to walk in, but I stopped her.
“Montigo is water, Tess is fire, Lanisha is air, and Simon is earth.” We walked in the room, and Flora greeted everyone at the table before we sat down.
“Why are you guys pointing at people?”
“I was filling her in on whose who.”
 “Oh.” Ricky eyed my plate.
“Are you going to eat all that?” Ricky asked me.
“No, if you want something, you can have it.” His hand went directly to the chocolate chip cookies. I stopped him. “Yeah, anything, but those.” Then his hand went for the peach pie. I had to stop him once again. Flora started laughing.
“Let me clarify. You can have anything but the sweets.”
“Looks like someone has a sweet tooth,” Flora said.
“So where’s Devon at?” Flora asked Ricky.
“I don’t know. What do I look like his keeper?”
“Don’t start, I just asked a simple question, that’s it.” They got into an argument. I ate my nachos and realized something was missing. Where was my hot sauce? I looked around and saw it was sitting on the farthest table against the wall with the rest of the condiments.
As I grabbed the bottle, I heard someone whistling. I ignored it until I realized they were whistling at me and not that, ‘Oh you’re fine whistle’, it was that come here, whistle. I turned and saw who it was, Montigo. I rolled my eyes. If he wanted to talk to me, he would have to use his words. All of a sudden, I felt something wet hit me on my but almost like a belt. I jumped and dropped the hot sauce on the floor. I turned around to touch my pants to make sure I didn’t feel anything, and sure enough there was a wet spot there. I looked at Montigo, as he sung a water lasso around his head.
“Keep your hands and other objects to yourself.”
“This is what happens when you ignore me hon, so tell me what are you going to do about it.” I remained quiet. “Nothing, just like I thought.” He threw the water lasso at my arm, and it left a wet whelp there.
“I already told you to stop,” I said.
“Or what?” I noticed Flora and Ricky looking at us now.
“Montigo stop, it’s not funny,” Flora said.
“Mind your business Flora.” She gave him the finger. Montigo looked at me again and once again threw the water lasso. This time I caught it and slowed down my breathing, and it froze. When I let go of it, icicles formed going everywhere in the cafeteria. One almost hit him in his face, but his girlfriend Tess, held up her hand just in time. She created a fire wall melting the ice dagger.
Tess rose up, but Montigo raised his hand, and she sat back down. Instead, he got up.
“Finally your group is complete.” He said eyeing me up and down. “So you think you’re big and bad, just because you can make a few icicles?” He laughed not waiting for me to answer. “I think you need to be taught a lesson.” I noticed everyone’s cups beginning to shake. He raised both of his hands, now had two water lassos. He threw one at me, and I mentally prepared myself to grab it, but at the last second, someone stepped in front of me. I realized it was Devon. The water was melting off his body.
“Still picking on people smaller than you?” Devon said.
“Yeah and you’re still poking your nose in other people’s business.”
“If you stop starting shit, then I wouldn’t have too.”
“What makes you think I started it?”
“Who else would it be?” Montigo stepped closer to Devon.
“Again what does this have to do with you?”
Suddenly a line of fire appeared separating Montigo from Devon. Tess slowly, but  gracefully got up.
“That’s enough for tonight boys.” Her voice sounded like she was older than what she appeared to be. “Wouldn’t want Devon killing you over his little equal.”
She looked at me. “Word of advice, next time he speaks to you, just answer him.” I smiled at her.
“The last time I checked, he isn’t anyone of importance, and I’ll speak when I want to. Not a moment sooner than that.” Then I mimicked her. “Word of advice, whistling at someone isn’t the right way to get their attention. I’m not a dog.” She looked at me and twirled her hair around her finger. I bent down to wipe the hot sauce I spilled. I felt something hot on my back, and I turned around to see the fireball coming at me. I rose my hand, slowed my breathing, and it froze, it was now a big ball of ice. It fell on the floor not shattering. I looked at Tess, who was now smirking at me. I noticed Devon looking at us, probably wondering if he needed to intervene. He didn’t, I could handle it on my own.
“I don’t know what’s more pathetic, you trying to attack me when my back is turned or you attacking me and me defending myself, when I just find out today that I had a talent.”

Character Summary

Carmel
She’s 5’5 with hazel eyes and shoulder length black hair. She’s curvy and very buxom. Carmel’s name matches her skin tone which reflects a light caramel color. She’s 17 and her Talent is Water and Ice. Some people think she’s dim-witted but that’s just a façade. Her quiet demeanor and passive nature is associated with her Water Talent. However, don’t be fool! If you push her buttons, her Ice Talent will show. She will become a heartless and uncaring individual. Carmel’s equal is Devon, whom she loves dearly because he loves her and accepts her flaws. This includes her obsession for sweets. Carmel loves being at the H.O.T because she finally feels like she has a real family. Something she never had before due to the fact she was a foster child.

Devon
He’s 5’10 with green eyes, and short black hair. His skin is golden due to his mixed heritage. He’s 20 and his Talents are Water, Earth, Air and Fire. Nonchalant he may appear to be, but in reality his true nature is kill now, deal with the consequences later. This rash judgement causes many people to hate and fear him; which he’s okay with. His enemies are as numerous as the stars in the sky. His love for his equal Carmel is uncontrollable, he would move mountains for her. Devon believes she sees the good in him and because of her, he knows he can become a better man. Devon would be ultimately satisfied if he and Carmel were the only two people in the whole wide world.

Flora
She’s 5’1 with brown eyes, and long black hair. Her skin tone is brown, and she has a butt any man or woman would be envious of. She’s 18 and her Talent is Earth. Flora is very frank and direct with her opinions and speaking her mind.  Her words can sometimes cut deep. Flora’s small size doesn’t stop her from accomplishing anything. She sees what no one else should see. Ricky is her equal whom she loves, because they are complete opposites.  She indulges herself by drinking tea, because it relaxes her. She’s thankful for Carmel’s arrival, and treats her like the sister she’s always wanted.

Ricky

He’s 6’1 with grey eyes, and a buzz cut. His skin tone resembles Vanilla.  Ricky is 19 and his Talent is Air and so is his attitude. He is a man of few words and lets his actions do the talking for him. He doesn’t let much worry him or stress him out; he may seem unintelligent compared to Devon but he’s no body’s fool.  He knows more than he’s willing to let on. His equal is Flora and he loves and adores her because she’s independent and she’s brings chaos to his life.  Ricky is happy Carmel is at the H.O.T because it makes both Flora and Devon happy.

Closet Hanger Organizer Review.

I got my 2 pack set of Specialty Styles Closet Hanger Organizer in exchange for my honest review. I honestly love these hangers, I am able to empty 24 hangers out of my closet and replace them with just 2.
I have a bunch of the bohemian style dresses that need no ironing, and each one of them was taking up a hanger in my closet. I looped one per hole in the hanger organizer and was able to put 12 on each one. I also have tons of night gowns, which I took out of the drawer and hung on one of the hangers and pretty much emptied the drawer.
I know they are for mainly belts and scarves but they are so versatile and rattan wrapped with beads on the end of the hanger to make them safe for all materials. You could even hang lingerie or panty hose with no worries. These are just a great product and will be buying more.

unnamed

A nameless young man is watching his dreams slip away when a man who let his own dreams die long ago sits down and begins to tell him a story: a story of young love and teenage dreams and rock and roll magic. A story about being young and being brave, and the girl who taught him how to be that way.
As the story unfolds, the young man begins to wonder if there's something more to this older man and his strange story...if maybe, just maybe, rock and roll magic is real.
A modern-day fable, The Truth of Rock and Roll is a cautionary tale about being young, being brave, and holding onto your dreams.

Excerpt

“I was in the locker room.  Somebody’s transistor radio was playing Buffalo Springfield: stop, children, what’s that sound…I should have taken the warning, but I wasn’t thinking about anything but Mrs. Greer’s math test and maybe lunch.  As a result, I was caught completely off-guard when somebody spun me around and slammed me up against the lockers.”

“It was Brett Snow, captain of the football team, and for a moment I was worried that he wanted to have some words with me about what I’d said to Mona.  They had an on-again, off-again, high-drama sort of thing going on, and stomping on some twerp who’d mouthed off to her would be a perfect make-up present.  But it turned out he had a different bone to pick with me that day.”

“ ‘I’ve been hearing things lately, dweeb,’ he said to me, getting right up in my face. ‘Things I don’t like.”

“ ‘What have you been hearing?’ I asked, trying to keep calm.  The situation was ridiculous – I mean, we were both fresh from the shower and still wrapped in our towels – but it was also pretty damn serious.  Brett had put people in the hospital and gotten away with it because of who he was, who his dad was, and who his victims were.  He didn’t have that last advantage against me, which was why I was still upright, but the situation could still go bad.”

“ ‘I hear you’re spending a lot of time with that trailer trash redbush…you know…what’s her name…Ginny? Janey?’ “
“ ‘Jenny,’ I volunteered.”
“ ‘That’s the one!’ he said.  Most people smack their foreheads when they say something in that tone.  Brett smacked mine. ‘Now, see, I have a problem with that.’ “
“I started to ask why, but he put a finger to my lips. ‘Shoosh shoosh shoosh shoosh shoosh!  I’ll explain everything.  I know you’re not too smart.”
“His friends snickered at that while my friends looked anxious.  He made a big show of thinking what to say next, stroking his chin, drawing out our fear of what was coming.”
“ ‘It’s like this, dweeb,’ he said at last. ‘I don’t like you.  I pretty much think you’re a pussy.’ “
“His friends snickered again, and mine tensed up.  I learned later that they had no idea what to do.  They had no chance of stopping Brett physically, especially not with his buddies there, and we all had that stupid high school code of honor where you don’t ever call in the teachers.  Mostly, they were hoping that Brett would decide talking was enough.”
“Brett ignored it all and kept talking: ‘And normally, I wouldn’t care where you go to get your little dinky wet.  But whether you like it or not - and I know I don’t - you’re one of us.’ He waved at his buddies. ‘You’re from the Heights.  We can’t have some bitch from the Mill Road trailer park thinking she’s as good as we are, which means…’ he leaned in close then, putting his face in my face and his forearm across my throat. ‘…we can’t have one of our own acting like she is.  So you just drop your little whore, and you do it today, and nobody has to get hurt.  You get me?’ “
“I nodded as best I could with his arm jammed up under my chin.”
“ ‘Good.’ He let me go and turned away, and I could breathe again, and if I’d been smart I would have kept my mouth shut.  But…I don’t know…the Stones were singing Street Fighting Man, and my mouth was moving before I could stop it.”
“ ‘She’s not a whore,’ I said.”
“Brett stopped.  Everyone in the locker room, his buddies and mine, looked at me like I was nuts.  Then they looked scared - my buddies, yeah, but some of his, too, at least the ones who weren’t all excited that they were about to see a beating.  They knew this one was gonna be bad.”
“For his part, Brett didn’t get excited.  He didn’t snarl or threaten or ask what I’d said to him.  He just sighed and shook his head and said: ‘And I was going to let you live.’ “
“He turned and started for me, and I was just raising my hands to shield my face when someone grabbed him from behind.  One arm, slimmer and smoother than you expect to see in the boys’ locker room, wrapped around him while the other slipped under his towel.  He stopped dead in his tracks, but it was too late: the arm under his towel tensed, his eyes just bugged right out of his head, and he started to make these rusty, breathless noises that probably wanted to be screams.”
I winced.  It was forty years later and the bastard deserved it, but I still winced.
“He sank down to his knees, but Jenny followed him down, not letting go until he hit the floor.  Then she straightened up and calmly brushed off her hands as ol’ Brett curled up on the floor like a shrimp and sobbed.”
“Of course it was Jenny.  Who else would have the balls?”
“ ‘He’s right, you know,’ she said to him, calm as if we’d been discussing song titles. ‘I’m not a whore.  Whores fuck for money.  If that was me, then you’d actually have a chance.’ Then she stepped over Brett, hooked her fingers into my towel, pulled me close and kissed me. ‘What I do with you, baby, I do because you do it so fine.’ “
                                                            *
“…of course,” he finished, “That’s when Coach Moore came running in shouting ‘Break it up’.”
“Of course it was,” I smirked.  Wasn’t it always?  Then he made it stop being funny.
“To this day, I fully believe that he was there the whole time, and only interfered when Brett started to lose.  Jenny got a week’s suspension, and I might have too if there hadn’t been a dozen witnesses that I didn’t ‘get in a fight’ so much as ‘get tossed around’.  Brett didn’t miss a single game.  And that’s how things worked in my hometown.”
I was outraged, and started to say so, but he was already past that, moving on to the real point of the story: “I asked her later how she knew I was in trouble, and at first she tried to say ‘How’d Wayne Cochran know his baby’s in Heaven?  Some things you just know, baby.’  But I pressed her a little bit, and she finally said ‘Someone was playing a radio in our locker room, too, and the song told me.’  That was all she would say, and I didn’t understand until much later.”

About the Author

Matthew Keville wrote his first short stories in first grade, when the books on the shelves didn’t have the stories he wanted. The stories have been his constant friends since then, and they’ve carried him through some hard times. He grew up in a small town where you either leave at eighteen or live there forever. He elected to leave at eighteen. Now he lives in New York City where everyone is only working as a waiter or bus driver or stockbroker until they make it on Broadway. This makes him different and special, because he’s only working as a paralegal until he makes it as a writer.
