Gabriel: The Wild Ones (Jokers MC Book 2) by Jessie Cooke
Gabriel is the 2nd book in the Joker's MC series by Jessie Cooke. I wasn't really sold on this series with book 1 Blackheart but oh my has she stepped this series up with this book. I am not saying Blackheart wasn't good it was just kind of slow or me. I love Jessie Cooke's books and I also love that she connects other series into every book, she also adds to her character lists but keeps the old ones around as well and you get to follow them like old friends.
In this book Gabriel is the star. He was adopted by the MC after his parents deaths and has been pretty much raised in the MC. Now he is a full patched member. He also has a girlfriend, Patrice, who unbeknownst to him is about to turn some members upside down, especially the MC President Blackheart. One night Gabriel is partying to hard and has to much to drink. Patrice goes to Blackheart and tells him she is his daughter and wants his help to find out who murdered her mother when she was just a baby, that is if he didn't do it himself. Blackheart who doesn't remember the one night stand with her mother but can see the resemblance to her of himself, and agrees to help.
As with all of Jessie Cooke's books there is twists & turns, danger and romance. Some sex and lots of Biker bad language but I loved it all.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Shellandrian steel. Medium-length and narrow, the sword looked like those
made in the eastern regions of Earth, only slightly more curved. The metal
itself was a work of beauty. The sword’s forging technique involved
folding the molten steel and another metal called Plitatia tightly together
and imbuing each molecule with magic. Only faelin royals and high-ranking
warriors carried Shellandrian steel swords. Delgarias’s astonishment
increased even as a fresh wave of unease that his assumptions and plans

of Annarkie’s fighting style drew his focus like a magnet.

EXCERPT:
On Monday, I carried a sandwich into the garage, setting it on the workbench. It had been a hectic morning, and I’d barely had time to talk to Maxx at all. At one point he’d received a call that he’d walked outside to take, and when he came back, his glower was deeper than usual. I knew better than to ask him about it, though. Instead, I stayed busy.
Maxx was talking to a customer as I went by. He was busy with his hands as he worked on a nice-looking Yamaha. But he glanced up, and I offered him a smile. “Your lunch, boss man, whenever you’re hungry.”
He nodded, his attention on the man he was talking to. The man chuckled. “Wow—she’s good. You get lunch?”
Maxx made a low noise, and the customer stepped forward, his hand outstretched. “Cam.”
I shook his hand. “Charly.”
“Pleasure.” He indicated Maxx. “You’re far cuter than this lug. You smile too.”
I had to laugh. “It’s part of the service now.”
“What else is included?” Cam teased.
“I want those numbers this afternoon, Charly,” Maxx snapped. “Stop flirting and get to work.”
Cam threw back his head in amusement. “I hope you get paid well for putting up with the attitude.”
“I think Maxx considers that one of the perks.”
Cam chuckled and looked at Maxx. “I like this one.”
Maxx snorted. Like a real blow the air through your nose and huff at the same time sort of snort. He glared at Cam. “Hands off my staff. I have a firm no mixing business with pleasure policy. Charly can’t date my customers.”
I managed to hide my surprise at his words. He had never mentioned anything of the sort. And I highly doubted Cam was looking for a date. His tone was teasing and friendly but not personal. He didn’t look remotely interested in me. His next words confirmed that.
Cam frowned. “My wife will be happy to hear that, Maxx. Relax. I was just being nice.” He eyed him. “You might want to try it.”
“I’m plenty nice.”
I had to turn and walk away to stop my laughter. Cam spoke again. “Back to the event. You have to go, Maxx.”
“I can’t. I’m booked solid.”
“Can’t you put it off?”
“No. I can’t just close the garage, Cam.”
“It’s an amazing opportunity.”
My steps faltered. What opportunity?
“I guess it’s one I will simply have to say no to.”
Cam huffed and called my name. “Charly!”
“Um, yes?”
“Can you reschedule your boss here so he can be gone for a while?”
I met Maxx’s expression. It was filled with warning, intense and dark. Telling me not to speak.
I decided to push back a little. I was tired of being quiet. “I can check.”
Cam smirked and crossed his arms. “Great.”

EXCERPT:
Rae glanced toward the stage, and all thoughts of Rob left her mind. Flint appeared in her line of sight, and her smile was bursting at the seams. He was walking toward them with Rick, who had rushed off to meet him backstage once the event concluded. It took everything in her to not run over to him and give him a hug.
Rae saw Gladys shift slightly out of the corner of her eye, and when she turned to look at her, she caught Gladys looking at her son. Gladys’s gaze didn’t waver, and when Flint finally looked up, she saw him look at her, then his mom, then back at her. There, his stare remained until he reached the two most important women in his life.
“Rick, thanks for everything tonight. I think the campaign is definitely moving in the right direction.” Flint took his eyes off of Rae briefly to look at Rick as he spoke.
“Perfect. I’ll send you an email this evening about our next steps, and then we’ll chat in the morning.” Rick said goodbye to the group before he headed out.
“Mom, thanks for coming,” Flint said as he shifted his attention to his mother. Although he wasn’t looking at her, Rae’s body was aware of Flint’s presence. More than she would care to admit.
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world, sweetie. You did an outstanding job.” She leaned in to give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
“Excellent job up there, West.” Another voice interrupted their moment. The trio turned their attention to the intruder. Before them stood Rob Cohen, who eagerly shook both Gladys’s and Rae’s hands. He swept a hand through his blond hair and gave the group an almost blinding smile. Although Rae had just met him, she could see that the smile didn’t reach his eyes. Not by a long shot.
