The V- in 403C by Jess Bryant

Title: The V- in 403C
Author: Jess Bryant
Genre: MM Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 27, 2020
Cover Design: Melissa Gill Designs

Jonah Monroe might be a genius when it comes to his studies but he’s never been able to find his footing in the real world. A college graduate by the age of eighteen and a doctoral candidate at twenty-one, he doesn’t fit in with his peers and lacks the social graces that would attract friends, let alone a lover. He’s resigned himself to his status as awkward and forever alone, until one bad decision turns his world upside down.

He shouldn’t have even been in that club. He shouldn’t have let a sexy stranger buy him a drink. And he definitely should’ve have let the man kiss him like he’d never been kissed before.

Reed Matheson has done a lot of dumb shit in his short life but he never would have guessed that kissing a stranger in a bar would be the best decision he ever made. He didn’t expect the intense connection he feels for the shy, socially awkward stranger to linger long after he was gone. And he certainly never expected to see the cute guy the next morning, preparing to teach his class.

Reed is a student and Jonah is a TA. Unwritten rules or not, nothing more can happen between them, at least that’s what Jonah keeps telling himself. But Reed has never been one to play by the rules and he’s not about to start now, when for the first time, his heart is on the line.

*The V-in 403C takes place in the same world as The D-in 403B. Side characters may overlap but each book is a complete story with it's own main characters and no cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Jess Bryant is an avid indoorswoman. A city girl trapped in a country girl's life, her heart resides in Dallas but her soul and roots are in small town Oklahoma. She enjoys manicures, the color pink, and her completely impractical for country life stilettos. She believes that hair color is a legitimate form of therapy, as is reading and writing romance. She started writing as a little girl but her life changed forever when she stole a book from her aunt's Harlequin collection and she's been creating love stories with happily ever afters ever since.

Jess holds a degree in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma and is a lifetime supporter of her school and athletic teams. And why not? They have a ton of National Championships! She may be a girlie girl but she knows her sports stats and isn't afraid to tell you that your school isn't as cool as hers... or that your sports romance got it all wrong.

Shock Me by Casey Hagen

Title: Shock Me

Series: So Wrong It's Right #1
Author: Casey Hagen
Genre: Opposites Attract Romance
Release Date: September 1, 2020

Blurb

Mama always warned
her that a sense of adventure would only lead to trouble…

Tall. Dark. Delicious. Trouble.

Mabel Lee Montgomery lives in the cradle of the church’s stifling arms. A
disgraced preacher’s dutiful daughter, she’s protective of her mama and works
endlessly to abolish the stigma left by her father’s scandal. But sometimes a
woman just has to hang up her good girl ways and break free for a night. What
better way than a bachelorette celebration at a wildly popular and completely
taboo strip club outside the city limits?

Kellen Savage never thought a brief stint stripping would be more than a quick
infusion of cash to repair the wreckage of his tumultuous past. Repelling the
hungry pursuit of a serious relationship by the female persuasion just served
as an added bonus. Until the prim and proper hot mess sitting front and center
gives him an unintended show of her own between her tongue, a cherry, and
enticing cleavage. Fascinated by her resilience as she stubbornly tries to keep
up with her fast friends, he might just have to rethink his bachelor status.

Call it fate or call it a night of sin ending with a phone number scrawled on a
condom. Either way, Mabel Lee and Kellen are about to embark on the joy ride of
their lives. Their adventure starts out with fun and games, but the blind
curves in the road ahead may prove too sharp for this unlikely match to
maneuver. When the dust settles, Mabel Lee may have to face that fact that
she’s more apt for scandal than a church pew, but will she be cut out for the
scarlet letter it comes with?

“What’s a
body shot?” Mabel Lee asked.
Catalina
reared back. “My God, where did you find her, Kellen?”
He laughed
and scratched his head. “Ironically, I found her right here in the crowd.”
“Girl, you
have to do a body shot. It’s practically a rite of passage.”
Mabel Lee’s
eyes lit up and she bounced on her seat. “Will you show me?”
“Sure.
Kellen, hop up on the table,” Catalina said, rising to her feet.
“You are
kidding, right?” he said, giving her a look through his lashes.
“Nope. I
mean, I don’t mind if she does one off me, but I have a feeling she’d feel more
comfortable if it’s you.”
“One shot,
Mabel Lee,” he said.
“I promise.
Just one,” Mabel Lee said with an excited grin.
“I can’t
believe I’m about to do this,” he said, tugging his t-shirt over his head.
Catalina
snagged an empty table and dragged it over, sliding it right up against Mabel
Lee’s. “Can I get a shot of tequila over here?” she called.
Kellen
climbed onto the table just to have Catalina tsk him. “Really, guy? It’s your
girlfriend. Take the pants off.”
“I’m not
looking to perform a sex act, Catalina. I’m on the freaking clock.”
“I’ll vouch
that it’s on the up and up. You’ll be fine. Besides, the owners adore you. You
make them a shit ton of money. You’re good.”
He knew
what an asset he was, but he sure as hell didn’t feel good about taking
advantage.
Catalina
sighed when he didn’t reply. “Look, Mabel Lee is too dignified for that. Hell,
she’s too dignified for this, but she trusts me, so ditch the pants, man.”
“Fine.” He
slid off his jeans, leaving him in the G-string he’d grabbed from his clothes
as he hurried out to catch her.
“Oooh,
seems he prepared for the occasion,” Catalina said, letting out a laugh.
He climbed
on the table, laid down with his back against the wood, and schooled his
breathing so he wouldn’t knock the shot off his stomach.
“Where do
you want it, Mabel Lee? Chest, stomach, or right about here?” Catalina asked,
touching the glass to his inner thigh.
High on his
inner thigh.
Like, right
next to his fucking nut.
“Catalina,”
he growled.
“Kellen…shut
up,” she said and shoved the wedge of lime in between his teeth.
“You only
live once, right? Put it there.” Mabel said.
He lifted
his head, surprised to see her pointing to the nut zone. Shit.
Blood rushed
south, and his cock perked up.
Not now.
Not now. Not now.
He could
see the headline now. Beloved Local Stripper Causes Eye Injury with His Wayward
Erection. It was a goddamned nightmare twist on the old A Christmas Story line.
The fucking X-rated version.
“Looks like
he’s giving us a tighter gap to support the glass. Thanks, Kellen,” Catalina
said, followed by a snort.
Mabel Lee
giggled.
And that
was with no alcohol in her system. Just as long as she didn’t start slapping
things again, because his junk was in the swing zone.
He muttered
a few choice swears through the lime that would singe Mabel Lee’s ears clean
off as his head smacked the table. God was a funny dude putting him in this
position.
“Okay,
sugar. So here’s what you’re going to do. No using your hands now; you keep
those tucked behind your back.” There was a brief pause. “Good, just like that.
I’m going to do you a favor and hold your hair. Lord, it’s gorgeous. You need
to tell me what shampoo and conditioner you use.”
“Well,
aren’t you sweet. Thank you. I use Kevin Murphy, but I use the cleansing crème
in between washes so I don’t dry it out. Have you heard of Water Lilies in
Clendon? That’s where I get it.”
Nice they
could exchange recommended bath products while held a shot glass with his knob.
“Thanks,
girl. I’ll check it out. Now, are you ready? On three, I want you to bend down
and wrap your lips around that glass and bring it right back up with you. The
liquor will slide right down. Just swallow and roll with it.”
“Okay, I
can do that,” Mabel Lee said, her voice dropping in that way it did when she
adopted that laser focus of hers.
“After, you
go on up there and bite into that lime.”
“Mmm,
okay.”
“One…two…three.”
He clenched
as Mabel Lee’s warm breath fanned over his thigh. The glass bobbled, and what
he thought might be her chin grazed his cock, making it jump, but before he
knew it, she and the glass were gone.

Blurb

I don't know when
things became so out of control.

On one hand, I have
new patients who exhibit all the signs of a toxic relationship: anger spewing
from the man, fear emanating off the woman, faded bruises that look to be
covered with makeup, and an obvious level of control that exceeds anything that
can be considered healthy.

On the other hand, a
blast from my not-so-distant-past has returned, and the effects of her arrival
are like wildfires being set throughout my life. The flames are spreading too
rapidly for me to put them out, and somebody is bound to be burned.

I don't know when
things became so out of control, but if I don't reel it all in, everything I’ve
built will become ashes in the wind.

Excerpt

“I missed you,”
Evelyn growls as she grabs a hold of my shirt and pulls me into her. Our mouths
connect and our tongues go to work. She licks mine, I suck hers. In zero
seconds flat, we’re all over each other.
My hands roam over
Evelyn’s body, grabbing and squeezing every part of her. She feels so good
beneath my grasp, and the hunger in me wants to devour her, especially when she
moans in the way only she can. When I hear her, it sends a jolt of desire up my
spine, and I want nothing more than to be inside of her.
“Jesus fucking
Christ, why do you look so good?” I ask as I push Evelyn backwards. Our mouths
stay glued together as she takes baby steps toward her desk. Once we reach it,
I position myself between her legs and force her to lean against the wood. “We
have dinner reservations in half an hour, and you open the door looking like
this? What am I supposed to do with you?”
Evelyn leans forward
and licks my neck before grazing my flesh with her teeth. “Well, Dr. Colson,
it’s a twenty minute drive to the restaurant, so I suggest you do what you want
as fast as you can.”
“Yeah? Tell me what
you want me to do.”
Evelyn smiles like a
child who has just gotten her way. She sits on the desk and reaches down past
her knees, pulling her dress up inch by inch until I can see the sexy white
lace of her panties.
“I like when you
give me control, Dr. Colson,” she says with a devilish grin.
“I don't mind every
now and then,” I reply, dropping to my knees, because I know exactly what
Evelyn wants. I just want to hear it from her lips. “Tell me, Dr. Monroe.”
Evelyn reaches down
and runs her hand over my buzzed haircut before gripping the back of my head.
“Taste me, Malcolm.”

Cecilia
I moved to Orlando for a fresh start.
Nobody could know my secret.
Catching the attention of the hottest DJ in all of Orlando wasn’t in the plan.
He’s got moves, and they’re not just good. They are good.
Like the beats he spins in the booth, I fall fast for him and his crazy family.
When he finds out about my past, it won’t just break my heart but also crush my soul.

Brock
The third time I saw her at a crowded club, I had to have her.
After our first kiss, I knew she was a habit I would never want to break.
Knowing what she hid from me reinforces what I’ve known for so long. Women cannot be trusted.
Even knowing the worst, I can’t stay away from her.
But when push comes to shove, will I be able to keep her safe?

After what seemed an eternity, Brock’s dress shirt slipped off his arms and he unbuttoned his dark-wash jeans while I watched his legs shift as he toed out of his shoes. I pressed my lips together to keep my thoughts to myself, but apparently Brock could read me.

“Just say it, honey,” he murmured.

Laying naked on his turned-down bed, I asked, “Say what… honey?”

With his thumbs in his boxer-briefs, he gave me a semi-incredulous look. “You know ‘what,’ Sunflower. That it’s about time I got naked with you.”

Sunflower?

I couldn’t devote any head space to that. He wanted to give me a nickname, so be it. Besides, the unveiling of the main event was happening before my eyes. His chest was unrealistically tan for a man who was in college. As I scrutinized his torso, his pecs flexed, and my eyes flew to his.

Those eyes of his were something else with their intensity and ability to ask me a question without him saying word one. They were staring intensely at me as though to underscore his statement, but I was distracted by his thumbs in his boxer-briefs.

After a lengthy moment, I whispered, “Yeah. It’s about time all right, Brock.”

I heard a low growling noise before he said, “You got that right, Cecilia.”
