Woven by Bree Moore

Author: Bree Moore

Narrators: Rebecca McKernan

Length: 13 hours 49 minutes

Publisher: Books by Bree, LLC

Released: Mar. 28, 2018

Genre: Epic Fantasy

For 30 years, Elaina has sat in her tower, fingers caught in an eternal dance, cursed to weave the tapestry of life on her loom. Bound by an enchanted mirror whose magic shows her the distant lives of the people of Camelot, she must forever watch a land which remains ever beyond her reach. Elaina despairs that she will ever experience more than just the shadows of life, until one day, a face appears in the mirror that will change her life, and possibly her fate, forever.

Guinevere is losing her mind. When a severe injury to her head nearly kills her and awakens alternate personalities suppressed from her past, Guinevere learns that one of them is plotting with a knight of the round table to murder King Arthur and take control of Camelot. In the midst of war, Guinevere fights to save both her own life and the man she loves, each day coming closer to succumbing to the violent personalities within her.

Inspired by Arthurian legend and Lord Alfred Tennyson’s ballad, "The Lady of Shalott", Woven spins a tale of two women who must risk everything to save those they love most into an epic of enchantment, love, and madness.

Bree Moore has been writing fantasy since the fourth grade. She lives in Ogden, is wife to an amazing husband, and the mother of four children. She writes fantasy novels between doling out cheerios and folding laundry. In real-life, Bree works as a birth doula, attending women in pregnancy and labor, which is huge inspiration for her writing. Bree loves shopping for groceries like other women like shopping for shoes (no, seriously), movies that make her cry, and Celtic music. She likes both her chocolate and her novels dark.

"Woven" is Bree's first published novel, the start of what she intends to be an epic writing career.

Narrator Bio

Born in the eighties with her formative years in the nineties, Rebecca’s taste in music and fashion never really had a chance. Fortunately, you can’t tell these things from her writing or voice-over work. HEr first novel, Trespasser, is as dark as her neon is bright, and you’d never guess from hearing her that she’s narrating science fiction in nothing but unicorn pants. Currently residing in London, Rebecca is passionate about travel, and has a good - albeit sometimes dubious - ear for accents. She graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with a degree in something or other, has a background in musical theatre, a past career in burlesque, and is a classically trained opera singer. Oh, and she likes greyhounds. And wine.

Notes from Bree Moore:
  • “The Lady of Shalott” by Loreena Mckennit - This song inspired “Woven”. My mom challenged me to write a scene based on the song, and a book was born! The song is based on a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson by the same name.
  • “In my Arms” by Plumb - This song always makes me think of my main character and how she must have felt holding her baby for the first time. It’s so sweet and sad.
  • “Never saw Blue” sung by Hayley Westenra - I probably listened to this song a thousand times while writing Woven. Its message of hope fit the theme of Woven perfectly. It even inspired the blue jay that “talks” to Elaina and keeps her company in the tower.

I honestly have never cared much for books about King Author but decided to give this book a shot. I was actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. The book is actually a dual story book that in the end meets up. First of all the book is written from Guinevere's perspective. So far I have never read or even heard of a book from her perspective.

Elaina has been held captive in the Tower for 30 years. Her life has been to weave a tapestry of life. The  tapestry is in control of her, it makes her weave for days and nights on end at times without letting her stop to eat or drink even. When she awoke in the Tower on that first day she was told she could not look out the window or at any man that may come along or she would die. All she has to see life moving on outside of her room is a Enchanted Mirror. One day the face of a man shows u in the mirror that will change her life forever.

Guinevere has an accident and gets a bad head injury after she awakes she finds she has multiple personalities. One of the personalities is a young abused girl the other is a grown woman with an agenda. She is making plans Sir Lancelot to kill King Arthur. Guinevere must try to save him.

This is where the 2 stories start to meld together.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Bree Moore. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Your Rhythm by Katia Rose blitz

Your Rhythm
Katia Rose
(Sherbrooke Station, #1)
Publication date: May 24th 2018
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance
You know what they say: save a snare, bang a drummer.
Kay Fischer is well aware of what they say, and she intends to ignore it completely.
After her first step into the world of music journalism ended with a screw-up so royal it deserved a crown, Kay’s been struggling to re-stack the building blocks of her career. Salvation comes in the form of Sherbrooke Station, the latest alt-rock craze to grace Montreal’s legendary music scene.
A front page feature on the band everyone’s talking about seems like a foolproof shot at success, even after Kay meets their drummer. Matt Pearson might have a smile sexy enough to be the eighth deadly sin and a passion for music so powerful it makes her heart ache, but Kay’s got things under control.
She’s a professional, goddammit, and a professional would not get tongue-tied over a source, even a source who’s a six-foot, tattooed rock god with an affinity for tight jeans.
A professional would not find herself opening her door at an hour long past midnight to pull said source inside and lead him to her bed.
No, that’s not at all what a professional would do.
EXCERPT:
Matt’s still propped against the edge of the bar when I reach him. The crowd is thinner over here and I get a good look at him from a few feet away: sandy undercut hair and an angular face, softened by full lips and just the right amount of stubble. He’s got the perfect features to pull off his eyebrow piercing, and while they’re currently covered by a navy blue coat, all my internet stalking has proved he’s got the perfect arms to pull off the collection of tattoos on both.
Eric the Surfer might have been hot in a general sense, but Matt Pearson is one hundred percent my type.
Did I just admit someone in Sherbrooke Station is my type?
“Hey,” I call sharply, hoping I can help myself deny that little revelation by acting annoyed with him. “Giving up that easy?”
He gives me a cautious glance and then shifts his eyes from side to side, like he’s making sure I’m really talking to him.
“On looking for me,” I elaborate. “I’m Kay Fischer.”
Now his dark eyes travel up and down the length of me in a completely unapologetic stare. He smirks when they reach mine again.

Author Bio:
Katia Rose is not much of a Pina Colada person, but she does like getting caught in the rain. She prefers her romance served steamy with a side of smart, and is a sucker for quirky characters. A habit of jetting off to distant countries means she’s rarely in one place for very long, but she calls the frigid northland that is Canada home.
