Sdsaena Women's Luxury 17.5 High Halloween Witch Hat

I love Halloween. I love decorating not only my house and yard but myself. When I saw this hat online I fell in love with it, it was so pretty. Waiting for it to arrive was the hard part. It's here and I more then love it. It is just beautiful. Yes I said Beautiful. Witch's hats may not of meant to be beautiful or even pretty but this one is, and I love it.

The hat is 19 1/2 inches across at it's widest point and is 17 1/2 inches tall. The outer layer is orange with black quilting all over, with a solid black satin liner inside. There is a large black bow at the front off centered to the left with a large orange flower in the center, and behind that is a large black spider. The legs of the spider are pipe cleaners so you can bend them however you want them. In the back of the hat it is kind of split. There is also a silver rhinestone studded band around the base of the hat. The hat is heavier then your cheap single layered witch hat, but it is not to heavy that it bothers you to wear it.

I personally cannot wait to get to wear it. I am pairing it with a long black off the shoulder dress. I am heading to the craft store today to try and find a roll of the stuff like the hat band is made of so I can use it as a belt on the dress so the outfit matches. The hat needs to take center stage so I will not be doing much embellishment to my outfit. But this is just my personal feelings on how I will wear this amazing hat.

iMustech Glass Paint

I love doing crafts. I love making my own Holiday decorations and just decorations for my home and to give as gifts to family and friends. I ran across this Glass Paint from iMustech and decided to give it a try.

It is Fall and I am in full swing of decorating. I have been looking at candle holders with pretty paintings on them but they are so expensive. With this pain I was able to go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a 2 pack of glass votive candle holders with the candles in them for a buck. I brought them home and painted my own scenes on them and they are just adorable.

There are 12 tubes of pain in this set each tube is 12 ML. They are each sealed so when you open them flip the lid over and it has a spike inside to piece the tip of the tube. Depending on how hard you squeeze you can get just 1 drop of paint out at a time or a whole lot if you are making a bigger project. To me this is great because I don't waste paint. There is a wide array of colors. you can even mix the colors to make other colors.  The paints are quick drying so your finished projects are ready to display in just minutes.

I am thrilled with this paint and my husband will be thrilled with all the money I will save by making beautiful things myself.

Dead Cold Blog Tour

We're really excited to be part of Jennifer Chase's DEAD COLD Blog Tour!

Title:
DEAD COLD

Author: Jennifer Chase

Publisher: JEC Press

Pages: 326

Genre: Crime Thriller

What happens when one California
community has a disturbing spike in homicides? It catapults cops into a deadly
game of murder. Frozen human body parts hideously displayed at the crime scenes
offers a horrifying interpretation that only a sadistic serial killer could
design—and execute.

On the hunt for a complex serial killer, vigilante detective Emily Stone must
face her most daring case yet. Stone’s proven top-notch profiling skills and
forensic expertise may not be enough this time.

Young and ambitious, Detective Danny Starr, catches the homicide cases and
discovers that it will test everything he knows about police work and the
criminal mind. Can he handle these escalating cases or will the police
department have to call in reinforcements—the FBI.

Emily Stone’s covert team pushes with extreme urgency to unravel the grisly
clues, while keeping their identities hidden from the police. With one
last-ditch effort, Stone dangles someone she loves as bait to draw out the
killer. She then forces the killer out of their comfort zone with her partner
Rick Lopez, and with help from a longtime friend Jordan Smith. A revelation of
the serial killer’s identity leaves the team with volatile emotions that could
destroy them.

The killer continues to taunt and expertly manipulate the police, as well as
Stone’s team, and as they run out of time—they leave behind everyone and
everything—in Dead Cold.

ESCAPE WAS IMPOSSIBLE. TEARS STREAMED down her
face as she sat in the darkness and waited for the man to return. There was no
other choice—but to wait.
She hadn’t eaten anything in three days and had only a
limited amount of water—her strength continued to fade with every hour. With
her wrists and ankles secured with duct tape, her skin stung with pain every
time she struggled to move. At least the man had peeled the tape from her eyes
and mouth so that she could see something besides pitch-blackness.
Even if she could escape, the only way to safety was jumping
into the frigid water, but she could not swim and would drown before ever
reaching the shore.
The only thing thirteen-year-old Kayla Swanson thought about
was home. Fond memories flashed through her mind of her parents, her little
brother, and her dog Charlie. She was never going to see them again. Their
smiling faces were forever etched in Kayla’s mind, and she constantly held them
close to her heart.
The boat rocked, and seemed to sway more violently as the
tide flooded in and out of the harbor. Kayla could hear a consistent clanking
noise above her as the boat rolled back and forth. The sound had a hypnotic
quality, and kept her mind on something else besides when the man would return
and what he would do next.
Her lips were dry and cracked as she bordered on dehydration.
Even her tears dried on her cheeks, leaving her skin stiff and drawn. Her body
began to shake, not only from fear, but also because of the extreme exhaustion
and the constant dampness all around her.
The boat rocked more, but this time it shifted from the
opposite sides. Kayla heard soft footsteps above, which she knew wasn’t her
captor’s heavy walk. She strained her eyes in the darkness and thought she saw
a thin shadow stealthily move along the upper deck.
Was it a ghost?
Kayla remembered a television series where a team of people
hunted ghosts and they had said that ghosts could
occupy any type of space, house, property, and even a boat.
She blinked her eyes several times and hoped that she could
catch a glimpse of the ghost again. With every ounce of declining strength,
Kayla scooted her body closer to the narrow stairs leading to the upper deck.
Painfully craning her neck, she strained to see something up
in the darkness.
The dark shadowed areas played tricks on her eyes—it was
there, then it wasn’t.
She waited for several minutes.
Nothing appeared.
The only sounds she heard were the usual boat noises she had
grown accustomed to hearing. Whatever she thought she heard was gone now. It
was most likely her imagination trying to give her some hope and a few moments
break from her dire circumstances.
As she relaxed her shoulders and leaned back against the
wall, the reality of her world pressing down hard. Tears streamed down her
face. She tasted the saltiness that settled around her mouth. Her last moments
were approaching, and there was nothing she could do.

Excerpt:

“Feeling brave I
walked over to the third trunk.  It was
much larger than the other two.  I
flipped open the latch without any problem.
To my amazement, this trunk was filled with clothing.  I pulled out the first item.  It was an old animal skin stole of some sort.  It even had the head of the animal still
attached.  I quickly tossed it to the
floor, disgusted anyone would do that to an animal and have the nerve to wear
it.  Then I found a beautiful purple
satin dress.  The lace around the
neckline was yellow and ragged.  When
new, it must have been an elegant gown.
I held up the gown in front of me and
turned to Dillon.  “How do I look?”
“Very nice,” he replied.  “It looks like it even might fit you.”
He continued to sort through the
photos.  Then he stopped and held one
photo up to the light for a better view.
“No, this must be a mistake,” he said with
a puzzled look.
     “Let me see,” I said.
I took the cracked and faded photo from
his hand.  It was the girl with the curly
blonde hair.  She was older and wearing
the very same dress I was holding in my hands.
Dillon took the photo from me and flipped
it over.  His face turned white as
chalk.  Then he held out the back for me
to see.
     “Molly Greyson,” I read aloud.
     The room began to spin.
I dropped the dress to the floor and fell
to my knees.

Interview with Roberta Hoffer
Where do you get inspiration for your stories?  I usually write about what I know or what interests me.  If I come upon a situation I’m not 100% sure of factually, I will do extensive research.  For example, my first book, Silent Heart, was about vampires but more interestingly, and what many of my readers do not know is that I used the names and past life events of my deceased relatives as my main characters.  I did major research into the genealogy of my relatives and found some extremely interesting facts I never knew until then.  I incorporated these newly acquired facts into my story and was even able to use birth and death dates to make it even more real for me as I wrote the book.
Another inspiration I have used for my books is my only grandson, Christian.  When he was born I began writing a book for him every year for his birthday.  As he grew, the stories went from simple picture books with few words to chapter books.  He is now 15.  My ‘tween book, The Ghost of Stonebridge Lane was originally a short five chapter book I wrote for Christian’s eleventh birthday.  It became a full length book and from that was born two more books, The Ghost of the Frozen North, and The Ghosts of Stony Manor, which became the three book series, The Stonebridge Ghost Tales.  This series has won several awards including a second place International award from Moonbeam Books for excellence in children’s chapter books.
How did you do research for your book?  The computer and internet, of course, are my main go-to for information.  However, for my vampire books, I spent a lot of time on the phone with records departments and census pages.  I also made a trip to my hometown sixty miles away and visited the graves of my past relatives to gather photos.  I even revisited my grandparents old home, with the consent of the previous owners, to get my mind wrapped around the mood I needed to place myself in this house in my book.  For Molly Greyson’s Ghost, I researched places and dipped into my memories of vacation spots I had been to be able to elaborate and make it more believable.
Do you have another profession besides writing?  I was a preschool teacher for twenty-nine years then retired six years ago.  That is where I began my real desire to write children’s books.  I always loved to watch my students faces as I read a book to them.  I wanted to write stories that other teachers would read to their students and hope to gain the same joy from their small faces.  Now that I am retired, I work at an upscale restaurant as the evening hostess.  Nothing mind-boggling, it’s just mostly social exposure which gives me the opportunity to observe many people in many different situations giving me more substance for my future books.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?  I would go back to the time when this country wasn’t filled with machines and life was much simpler.  Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t get by without my phone or computer now but wouldn’t it be nice for a time to not have to deal with all the technology headaches?  Maybe the early 1800’s.  But then, when you think about it, we are blessed to be a part of a world that can heal so many illnesses and gives so much pleasure with television and phones, computers and microwaves, even space travel.  It’s very hard to even imagine a life without the current technology we have.  I was born in 1950 so I can relate to the non-existence of cell phones, microwaves, and computers.  I have seen much of what our grandchildren take for granted developed over my lifetime.  So, I guess I could say I was around when we were pioneers in the technology era.

What is your next project?  My next project is to complete at least two of the three books I have started and have those published next year.  I would love to do a book tour across the country with my husband and two Yorkies.  I also am taking time to climb another 14,000’+ mountain in Colorado with my son and daughter-in-law and take a beach vacation with my daughter, grandson, and husband.  My bucket list is extensive and I intend to get as much checked off as possible!

EXCERPT:

Mac paced through the reception area waiting for Bradley Winford and this Gem person. He’d yet to get a last name on the woman. He tried sitting on one of the armchairs but was too restless. He’d asked Paul to come to the meeting, but he’d had other clients to deal with. As Mac made another circuit through the room, cursing himself for his need to arrive everywhere early, the front door opened and Gem strode through, looking a little harried.

Once inside, she smoothed a hand over her hair and down her dress, which was blue, a shade darker than her eyes. The front dipped low, but not immodestly so. She rolled her lips together and trekked on crazy high heels to the receptionist’s desk. She was told to have a seat, the same way he’d been.

She sat on a chair, her back stiff and hands folded in her lap. Briefly closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply and when she reopened them, her gaze met his. Her left eyebrow quirked but didn’t make it to a full arch. Her lips moved incrementally into a smile. Then she shot her gaze downward.

Shifting on the chair, she angled her body and crossed her legs. She knew exactly how to draw a man’s eye, he’d give her that. Eyelids lowered slowly and then she glanced up at him again, barely making eye contact.

Was she seriously hitting on him?

When she brushed her hair off her shoulder—not quite a flip—he confirmed it. She was flirting. He stayed rooted to his spot, afraid to continue his pacing because then he might miss something good. Slipping his hands in his pants pockets, he rocked back on his heels waiting for her next move.

Really, if this was the best she had, he truly had no worries about competing against her.

When he didn’t respond to another smile or a too-obvious bend at the waist to reveal cleavage, she stood. She strode with a slow, hip-swaying swagger to where he stood and pointed at the poster behind him. “Have you ever seen this show?”

Her voice was low and slightly husky. In the right room at the right time, it was the kind of sound that would’ve had an effect on him. He ran his tongue over his teeth and looked at the poster.

“No, I’ve never seen it.”

“Too bad. I was hoping you could tell me if it’s worth binging.” She reached in her purse and pulled out a pack of gum, offering him a piece.

He shook his head but continued to watch her. She slowly folded the stick of gum on her pink tongue and when she reached around him to toss the wrapper in the trashcan, she not too subtly brushed against his arm.

“Excuse me,” she whispered. When she straightened, she extended her hand. “Hi, I’m—”

“Good, you’re here.” Bradley Winford’s voice boomed through the room.

Gem turned, smile bright. “Mr. Winford, good to see you again.”

Winford shook her hand a little too vigorously. “I see you’ve met Malcolm.”

What Mac wouldn’t have given to see her face.

“Who?” she asked.

Brad pointed to him. “Malcolm Sterling, your competition for the show.”

Slowly, she turned and the look on her face was even more priceless than he’d imagined.

Mac stepped forward. “Malcolm Sterling from Everyday Love.”

A flash of something came across her face, her mask slipping. It wasn’t just surprise. There was something else there. Quickly, she schooled her features back into the flirt. It seemed to be the only thing she did quickly. She shook his hand and offered a brief smile.

“Nice to meet you, Malcolm. Gem.”

Brad clapped his hands. “Let’s get this started, shall we?”

Gem turned and followed Brad. Mac fell into step beside her.

“My friends call me Mac.”

“Excuse me?”

“Only my mother calls me Malcolm.”

“That would’ve been useful information to have, oh, say, ten minutes ago. You obviously knew who I was the minute I walked in.” Her voice came out a sharp whisper so Brad couldn’t hear.

“I did,” he admitted.

“Any reason you didn’t introduce yourself?”

“I was enjoying your flirting techniques.”

She shook her head and stepped into the conference room. She waited until Brad took a seat and took the one directly across from him. Mac chose the seat beside her.

She shot him a look of irritation.

Suddenly Mac decided this adventure might not be so boring after all.

Greco's Game by James Houston Turner Cover Reveal

Thriller / Suspense / Action / Romance
Date Published: November 1, 2017
Publisher: Regis Books

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

Colonel Aleksandr Talanov – the “ice man” – is married to a woman he wishes he could love. But he can’t, and it’s an ugly consequence of his training with the KGB. Even so, no one should have to experience what Talanov experiences: the brutal murder of his wife in front of his eyes.

Wracked with guilt and suspected of plotting her death, Talanov spirals downward on a path of self-destruction. He should have been killed, not her. He was the one whose violent past would not leave them alone. Months tick by and Talanov hits rock bottom on the mean streets of Los Angeles, where he meets a hooker named Larisa, who drugs and robs him.

But in the seedy world of human trafficking ruled by the Russian mafia, Larisa made the mistake of stealing the ice man’s wallet. In it was Talanov’s sole possession of value: his wedding photo. Talanov tracks Larisa down to get that photo because it reminds him of everything that should have been but never was, and never would be because an assassin’s bullet had mistakenly killed his wife. Or was it a mistake?

The answer lies in Greco’s Game, a chess match played in 1619 that is famous for its queen sacrifice and checkmate in only eight moves. In an unusual alliance, Talanov and Larisa team up to begin unraveling the mystery of what Talanov’s old KGB chess instructor regarded as the most brilliant example of how to trap and kill an opponent. The question is: who was the target?
