book blurb
Love is a luxury for the weak.

At least that's what Madison Nottingfield’s father always said.

Coming from a long line of old southern money, Madison has come to accept the uncomfortable job of helping her father in his pursuit of wealth and social status. But by the time she turns seventeen, she’s grown weary of being her father’s favorite way to gain power and prestige.

After being nominated to one of the few debutante positions in her affluent country club, Madison thinks her life’s about to hit easy street. If she can learn to stand on her own two feet, she wouldn't need to succumb to her father's whims. For once, she can do what she’s always dreamed of doing; she can’t wait to move forward with her secret plans of ditching her ballet slippers to sing at the year-end talent show—the most important event of the entire year.

All of Madison’s hard work seems to be falling in to place, until her conniving parents make a demand…

So unthinkable

So life-shattering

So vile

…it almost completely stops Madison in her tracks. Would their plans for her future kill the one thing she desperately desires?

Refusing her parents’ request would mean losing everything… family, friends, and her pedigree. But, giving in would mean turning her back on the only thing she’s ever truly wanted.

Book Description:

How Far Would You Go To Get Your Life Back?

Stuck in the afterlife on an island encircled by fire and hunted by shadows bent on trapping them there forever, Irene and Andras struggle to hold onto the last vestiges of their physical selves, without which they can never return to the land of the living. But it’s not just external forces they’ll have to fight as the pair grow to realize they have different goals. Irene still clings to the hope that she can somehow return to her old life—the one she had before she died—while Andras would be only too glad to embrace oblivion.

Meanwhile, Jonah desperately searches for a way to cross over to the other side, even if doing so means his death. His crossing over, however, is the one thing that could destroy Irene’s chances of returning home.

Too many obstacles, too many people to save, and the thing Irene most desperately wants—to return to her old life—seems farther away than ever. Only one thing is clear: moving on will require making a terrible sacrifice.

Excerpt:

Andras grunted, the sound filled with suspicion. Irene bent down to tie her shoelace, as much to avoid eye contact as anything. When she straightened up, something in the distance caught her eye, shimmering like a mirage. She squinted, not sure she was really seeing what she thought she saw.
“You know, now might be a good time for you to tell me what it was like to live in a castle,” she said.
Andras shook his head, sadly, as if Irene had disappointed him. “You cling too much to the past. Forget the trappings of life. Free your mind from these longings, and so, free your soul. Only then will we be able to escape these shackles and enter Heaven to rest at the side of God.”
Why did he always have to argue about everything? “For God’s sake,” she said, exasperated, “just answer the question!”
“Wherefore?”
Irene pointed to the hulking structure in the distance. “Because,” she said as Andras whirled around to see what she was pointing at, “correct me if I’m wrong, but that looks like a castle.”
“Wow!” Irene said, her eyes roving over the dark, crenellated structure hulking in the far distance. It gleamed dully, the color of burnt blood in a fading afternoon sun. “What the hell do you think that is?”
Andras grunted. “As you said—Hell.”
Irene frowned at him, but her lips quirked in amusement. “Why do you have to be so negative? It could just as easily be Heaven. God is supposed to live in a palace, right—the whole ‘my father’s house has many rooms’ thing? A castle is just a type of palace.”
Andras gave her a dry look. “Does that look like Heaven?”
Irene was on the verge of agreeing that the castle did not in any way look how she imagined Heaven when it shimmered, as if the fading sunlight had been redirected by mirrors. Light rippled across the castle’s surface and the dull, dark, burnt-blood color transformed into gleaming, bright, silver-white. Crisp white pennants flapped from the corners as if whipped by wind. Irene thought she could hear them snapping crisply.
Irene looked at Andras, and he looked at her. His expression made it clear that he had seen the same transformation she had. It was as if the building was trying to trick them into coming closer.

book blurb

Sometimes, all it takes…
Raynebeaux Starr's life is damn near perfect. She has wonderful friends. An interesting career. A man when she wants and none when she doesn't, thank you very much. But when tragedy strikes and she’s named guardian to her six year old niece, her world is turned upside down. She finds herself alone in a new town with a small child, no parenting skills and desperate for guidance. Until she meets Father Jared Sloan. The sexiest minister she's ever seen. He is kind, patient and a literal God-send. If only she could stop having unholy thoughts about him!
…is one little lie,
Jared Sloan's love life is a disaster. He has one girlfriend he can't shake, and an ex-fiancée on his doorstep wanting him back. As if things weren't complicated enough, he encounters what must be a fallen angel in a church parking lot. Little does he know when he offers her counseling that she would be unlike anyone he's ever experienced. He wants to be the kind of man she can trust. He also wants to taste her so bad it hurts.
…to lead you to the truth.
Can Jared convince Raynie there is such a thing as happily-ever-after? Or will his deceit only confirm her belief that fairy tale endings don't exist in the real world. Especially not in Lubbock, Texas.

excerpt

Why had she flirted with him? Big mistake. But before she could stop, the words rolled out. And holy hell, he’d flirted back. Stronger than the force of gravity, temptation yanked Raynie’s brain like a tug-of-war rope.

He must have sensed her turmoil. “If you’d rather not go to together, that’s fine. I thought it’d be convenient since we’re going to the same place, but I can come on my own.”

She laid a hand on his forearm. “No. That’d be great. I was thinking of something else and got distracted.” You know, ripping off your clothes and screwing you into next Wednesday.

Raynie ran her tongue over her teeth to keep her lips from sticking to them, but she couldn’t work up a spit. Why did he show up and mess with her emotions? With those gorgeous eyes, hot body, and kind heart. She wasn’t supposed to get involved with guys like Father Sloan. Nuh-uh, no way. But since sharing the sunset with him, she’d been fighting a fierce attraction. Well, it’d been there from the beginning, but the logical side of her brain kept it in control. Now the stupid side was thinking way too much.

InnoGear 200ml Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser- Wood Grain

I am loving this diffuser. It is so different from the others I own. This one is wide and flat and has a wood grain look to it. This one also holds 200ml of water. This has 4 timer selections and also 2 mist options. It also has 7 colors of rotating lights or you can choose a color and it will run static. You do not have to have the light running while it is misting and also do not have to have the mist running if using it for a night light. The light shows through around the mist hole and around the center when the top attaches to the bottom. I love that it holds 200ml instead of 100ml, I don't have to fill it as often. I love diffusers and have them running pretty much all the time in my house. Running a diffuser is a lot cheaper then running the plug in type oils as well. Those things are expensive. This just needs a few drops of any essential oil to make a room smell wonderful.

The diffuser is made of plastic with a wood grain look. The wood grain looks like real wood. This comes with the power cord, the diffuser, and an instruction book.

Zoie + Chloe 18-Compartment Honeycomb Drawer Divider Organizer

My lingerie drawer was out of control. Everything was folded but it was just messy, I had to search for what I wanted to wear. Now each piece has its own little spot with this drawer divider. My drawer is small as well so I was able to use this for the sock drawer as well.

There are 8 plastic pieces that fit together to make the honeycomb. You can use as many or as few as you need. The pieces just slide together. I used 4 in each drawer. The pieces are 13 X 3 inches and when all put together it is 14 inches wide. There were no sharp edges to hand up or cut into my clothing. They are made of a thin flexible plastic, and if to long for the drawer they could be easily cut to fit.

The holding area will hold a pair of long tube type socks or a couple pair of ankle socks, I can also put about 4 pairs of panties neatly in one. The possibilities are endless. You could use these in a babies drawer and place outfits int he same one. They would be great in a bathroom to hold washcloths and hand towels.

I am very happy with these and how neat my drawer is now.

Belloccio's® TAN Complexion Professional Airbrush Cosmetic Makeup System

In this kit you get everything you need to get started. You get a very nice make up bag, the air brush and a small wrench , the compressor, the hose, the power cord, 6 bottles of different colors, a bottle of primer, a bottle of bronzer, a bottle of blush, a bottle of air brush cleaner, a DVD, and a pamphlet. The bottles are small but very thin so they do seem to last a while. You can by more bottles here on Amazon and from their website.

I have never used a air brush system before. I have always done my make up the old fashioned way cotton balls and make up brushes. Because I have never tried air brushing I really have nothing to compare it to. This is a learning experience though I will say that. The first time I used this system I had to wash my face and start over a couple of times. It's not really hard to use you just have to learn how to use it correctly. This comes with a nice DVD to help you with learning but it is still one of those hit or miss things. I have wasted more of the make up then I have actually worn. This is not Belloccio's fault though, so I will not take stars away for my own ineptitude, I do wish the bottle of make up that comes with the set were bigger though. You are after all learning how to use the system and learning how to bend the colors to make the make ups right for you. This is not a 1 size fits all make up. It is very easy to make the outcome to light or too dark. So basically you become a mixologist with this system. To save on make up I started with the lightest color first and put a drop on a paper plate, then added the darker shades mixing with a q-tip and rubbing on a small spot of skin until I liked the color combination. I put my hair up in a head band and closed my eyes while applying. Use slow even strokes or you will have nice looking make up in one sweep and runny in the next. Also hold about 8 to 10 inches away. The closer to your face you are the thicker the make up goes on.
