GENRE:  Sci-fi (soft)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
After 27 years as a newspaper man, Peter Anderson’s career is slipping away, at least it was, until he stumbled upon the story of a lifetime. Sent to do a fluff piece about lights in the night sky over Arizona, he discovers far more than he ever expected when he comes upon a mysterious young woman held prisoner in a basement. After helping her to escape, she disappears before he can learn the truth about who she is or where she came from. His search for her leads him back to the lights in the sky and leaves him with more questions than answers. The only thing he knows for certain . . . the only thing he can count on are the two words offered repeatedly by his friend and guide . . . “IS BELT.”
EXCERPTS :
"No.  No one takes anything.  We're just going to look around a little, maybe snap a few pictures but no one takes anything and no one gets hurt," I insisted.
"OOOh, Bob's friend not say no one get hurt.  Things happen Fred not control.  No one to get hurt... not good, not good.  Fred say price now five hundred."
"Bob, you didn't even talk to him."
"Ahh, Bob sorry.  We close family, sometimes have psychic connection."
"Fine, five hundred."
Bob wrinkled his nose, holding up a hand before Fred.  He turned his back to me, wriggling his fingers.
Irritated, I retrieved my wallet, fingering my way through my dwindling per diem, pushing four, one hundred dollar bills and two fifties into Bob's writhing fingers.
"Is good," he responded, counting them quickly.
To my annoyance, he stuffed a hundred into his shirt pocket before passing the balance to Fred.
A broad smile spread across the young man's face as he quickly pushed the money deep into his front pants pocket.  Fred now bounced on the balls of his feet, weaving or dancing, or shadow boxing... I couldn't tell which, only that with my money in his pocket, he was excited.
He began to speak rapidly in Russian to Bob, turning his hat forward.
"Fred say, can now go," Bob announced, heading for the door, pulling it open for Fred.
The young man checked the hall, swinging his head quickly in both directions before jumping into the corridor as if hopping a train.
AUTHOR Bio and Links:
I was raised pretty much the same as everyone else... devoted mother, strict father and all the imaginary friends I could conjure. Not that I wasn't friendly, I just wasn't "people orientated". Maybe I lived in my head way more than I should have, maybe not. I liked machines more than people, at least I did until I met my wife.
The first thing I can remember writing was for her. For the life of me I can't remember what it was about... something about dust bunnies under the bed and monsters in my closet. It must have been pretty good because she married me shortly after that. I spent a good number of years after inventing games and prototypes for a variety of ideas before I got back to writing.
It wasn't a deliberate conscious thought, it was more of a stepping stone. My wife and I had joined a dream interpret group and we were encouraged to write down our dreams as they occurred. "Be as detailed as you can," we were told.
I was thrilled. If there is one thing I enjoy it's making people believe me and I like to exaggerate. Not a big exaggeration or an outright lie mine you, just a little step out of sync, just enough so you couldn't be sure if it were true or not.  When I write, I always write with the effort of "it could happen" very much in mind and nothing, I guarantee you, nothing, makes me happier.
Virtual Blurb Blitz Tour for Relentless by Vanessa Dare
Relentless
by Vanessa Dare
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GENRE: Romantic Suspense

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
A fun weekend at a friend’s wedding in Denver takes a bizarre twist for Anna Scott when her rental car is pulled over due to an “anonymous tip.” In her trunk…a dead man linked to warring crime families in Denver and New York. It should be easy for an innocent woman to be cleared for an simple mix-up. But was it a mistake? The police aren’t so sure, and neither is the crime boss who wants vengeance for his son-in-law’s death. Suddenly appearing on the radar means that now Anna Scott is in real trouble. Two years ago, Anna Scott didn’t exist. The police think she knows way too much about criminal procedures and they’re determined to find out her secret. Their attention forces Anna to play a deadly game of cat and mouse with both the mafia and the police. This twist of fate could not only expose her, but place her, and anyone close to her in jeopardy.
Jake Griffin is playing a deadly game. He’s spent the last few months undercover in the Moretti crime family. The mysterious and beautiful Anna Scott is a big problem. Moretti assigns him to find out who she is and what she’s after, and to kill her if she becomes a problem. Jake needs to focus on taking down Moretti, not risking his life and career protecting a sexy woman who is a complete mystery. Unfortunately, he can’t stop wondering about her. He knows she’s lying, but his gut instincts, and the bone deep desire he feels every time he sees her, won’t allow him to walk away. He discovers that he’s willing to go to war with the whole world for one alluring, yet vulnerable woman. He can’t seem to stop taking desperate gambles where she’s concerned. The most dangerous of all might be trusting her with the truth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Excerpt :

I still couldn’t tell Anna I was a cop. She’d be pissed—understatement of the year—and probably run off and take on that new identity. At the moment, it was critical I made connections with the likes of Frank Carmichael and I couldn’t do that if I was a cop. He wouldn’t take a meeting from me then if I held up the last corned beef sandwich on the planet.

“You dragged me over here on a Sunday morning to talk about my dates?” Carrie wanted to know.

“You have more than one?”

I wanted her to line them all up so I could check them out. Carrie might be thirty-two years old, but it didn’t mean I wouldn’t shoot any asshole who treated her poorly.

“Save your alpha personality for Anna,” Carrie grumbled, letting her head fall back against the couch cushion.

Anna just arched a brow and her gaze flicked down my  body. Just a look like that had me getting hard, which wasn’t good in front of my sister. Alpha with Anna was definitely working—for both of us.

To hide my eagerness for Anna, I walked to the kitchen to get a drink. My dick was running the show now and I needed that to stop. It wasn’t going to see any action until I saved Anna, so I needed to get my brain in gear and focus on the dangerous shit. “I need you to set up a meeting for me with Uncle Frank,” I called out.

Carrie sat up. I couldn’t see her, but I knew this because her feet hit the floor. “Why would you want me to do that?”

“Because he’s going to help me kill Anna.”

Best Electric Pencil Sharpener - Battery Operated - Heavy Duty - For Home, Office, Kids, Teachers by OfficeX

This pencil sharpener works great.  I have a large one that actually does run on electricity across the room from me, and an old crank one on my front porch. The Electric one scares my dogs, the manual one is no fun to use. This one is small enough to set on my desk or go into my drawer and it is very close at hand when I need my pencil sharpened, which is actually quite often. I use my pencil a lot. I am a note writer and I prefer pencil to ink. This pencil sharpener runs on 2 AA batteries and is very quick at giving me a point on my pencil. My expensive electric on seems to only sharpen on one side, so I have to take the pencil out, turn it over and sharpen the other side. This one gets both sides at once. It has a small shaving cup on the front, it is bottomless so make sure you are holding it over a trash can when you take it off. It is on very tightly and you really have to grip it and tug to get it off, this is not a bad thing though. If it were loose it would be a mess all the time. It is small enough for taking on the go with you also.

Touchscreen Compatible Running Belt by IFITBELT

I am very pleased with this running belt. It fits great. I love that it is adjustable from 28 to 50 inches. I am personally somewhere in between those measurements and this belt fits comfortably. I like that the belt part is elastic and very stretchy so when I bend it does not try to cut me in half. The pouch is great. It holds my phone perfectly as well as my mp3 player, keys, ID and money. I not only use this for walking, because I don't run, but I also like it for going shopping. I will be wearing this when we go on our weekend excursions and on vacations. I do not like carrying a heavy purse, it tends to make my back and shoulders hurt. With this belt I am hands free and no weight on my shoulders. I really like the zipper instead of velcro on the pouch. It is more secure and no velcro edge scratching me. All in all I am very happy with this running belt.

EliteBaby Clear Table Corner Guards, 12 Pack

These corner protectors are great. They are totally clear so they don't take away from the beauty of your furniture like the ugly rolls of the foamy corner and edge guard stuff. There are 12 in the package so plenty for all your furniture with corners. We have a large family and lots of little ones in and out all the time. These were great over Christmas when we had 35 people at our house. Of those 35 people 6 are under the age of 5. Luckily we had no boo boo's but I felt safer knowing the corners were well protected. I love that this also comes with the caps that go on the wall plug in sockets. Most of ours are not in exposed areas but I do have one in the living room and one down the hallway that is out in the open. I feel so much safer having them on the sockets. Also you get adhesive for the corner protectors.

Bfun Wood 3D Animal Puzzles Peacock

This is a really fun and creative 3D puzzle. I chose the peacock. The pieces come pre-stamped out into a 1/8 inch sheet of wood. Gently pop out the pieces. Put the puzzle together then paint it your way. In the kit everything you need to make and decorate the puzzle. There are 2 wood sheets with puzzle pieces, a piece of sand paper for edges and any rough spots, 4 bright colored paints, a nice paint brush, not one of the cheap ones with plastic bristles, and a instruction sheet. The puzzle can be taken apart again and again or you can add a drop of glue to each piece to make it permanent. This is really great for kids and adults of all ages above 3. My Grand Daughter is 3 and loves these type of puzzles, we work on them as a project when she comes to visit. This is great way to spend some quality time with kids. They also make great gifts.

iPhone 6 Case,iPhone 6 4.7-inch Case,Welity Luxury Chic Art Ultra Slim Cute Colorful Red and Blue Color Glitter Bling Sparkling Stars

Very cute phone case. This is a simple bumper case with an adorable rainbow and glitter design. There are stars in the glitter also that give it that bling effect. It fits the 4.7 inch iphone perfectly. All of the buttons and cut out sots are in the correct spots. It also come with a screen protector. It is not one of the glass ones but it will protects the screen from scratches and scrapes. The rubbery silicone case is easily wiped free of dirt and dust with a damp cloth. The case will protect the phone from most drops as well as dirt dust and other debris. All of that and it is ADORABLE!!!
