Instant Read Digital Cooking Thermometer by: AsGard

I love this meat thermometer. it is not just for meat though. Works great for baked good, as a candy thermometer and anything else you need to know the temperature of while cooking. This is the longest one I have used and it is great my hand does not get hot or burnt. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and our Family Thanksgiving get together is on Saturday, so this will be getting used a lot and in a lot of things. I was going to wait until afterwards and take pictures of it in use but we get so busy i will probably forget to take the pictures. We are cooking for 30 people. I did however use this on a baked chicken the other night and when it said my chicken was done it was right. I like that it comes with a sheath to hold the probe in to help protect is, my gadget drawer is pretty full. it comes with the battery already installed.

Ska Studio Waist Trainer 102FA

This is a very nice waist trainer. It was a tiny bit small and hard for me to get fastened. I have carpal tunnel so nothing is simple,so I had my Daughter help me and she was struggling a bit. This waist trainer is very soft but kind of thick. It is after all 3 layers of lycra thick. It does work better then the single layer spandex type. There are also 3 rows of hooks so as you loose weight you just go up a row of hooks. I put this on on a almost form fitting dress and no one could really see it was there. The Waist Trainer may show a little on skin tight clothing.  It is very comfortable to wear, and makes you look good. I love the hourglass look it helps me to achieve. It will make you sweat on warm days or in a warm building.

Book Description:

1969 & Then Some is a memoir of the 60s and the influence of those years over the decades that followed. Romance, psychedelic insight and motorcycling evolve with the narrator maturity, such as it is, and non-compromise on morality and the undying spirit of adventure in nature.

While the 60s is often discounted or as ephemeral—as a social aberration—1969 & Then Some offers keen insight to lingering values that cannot be separated from significant segments of the most significant population group alive today, the baby boomers, many of whom still hold sway in key areas of social and cultural evolution.

Book Description for Brainstorm:
Brainstorm is a first-person narrative of incidents leading up to, through and after a cerebral aneurysm and hemorrhage in the immediate family. The action includes the dramatic process ongoing in trauma centers designed to process sudden occurrence of aneurysm, cerebral hemorrhage and morbidity. The American Medical Association estimates that 3% of all populations have aneurysm that may or may not leak—about 3½ million people in the U.S.

While the procedures and protocol for sudden onslaught are rote and fundamentally unchanged over the ages, hygienic and technological advances have reduced hazards. Death and debilitation statistics are still daunting, and Brainstorm factors a new component into the procedural mix, whereby a conscientious and healthy husband and wife seek participation in the process, to no avail.

My review:
 This is a very busy book. If you are old enough it makes you remember, it makes you laugh, it makes you think. My biggest complaint is everyone on the planet in 1969 is mentioned in this book except me. That may be because I wasn't 2 until the last few days of the year, not many mentionable moments I guess.
  The story Robert Wintner tells is basically his story. He tells it so well, you almost feel like you are with him.  He is very candid and doesn't hold anything back. I love some of the words he uses. Like his coat and scarf are his rig.
  Younger people may or may not really get anything from this book since it has nothing to do with computer games and cell phones. It has nothing to do with having everything handed to you. There is no basic story line with and ending. This is a memoir of a time in Robert Wintner's life. He tells you about the carefree days of his life. I will admit some parts of this book are just plain messed up. But from movies and other books I have read the hippie days was a period of time when no one had any worries. They did as they pleased and there were no real consequences. There is a lot of foul language in the book, so if you have tender sensibilities you may not want to read the book. The F word is used a lot.
I was given the audible version of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Book Blast for Future Winds by Kevin Laymon

Future Winds
by Kevin Laymon

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Sci-Fi
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Set in a science fiction setting with elements of twisted horror, Future Winds is a strange yet wondrous tale of species self preservation and the all out moral cost of survival. Forced to leave earth, humanity discovers a planet capable of supporting life and hatches an audacious plan that will warp them across the universe to settle and begin anew. There is a darkness that resides below the planet's surface, but with no option to turn back, humanity must find a way forward.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt:
Chapter 7 Excerpt:
Being a science fiction story set in another galaxy, technology and artificial intelligence play a big role in Future Winds. This is an example of that.
In the year 2045, a Russian man by the name of Vladimir Karkorov took ophthalmology to a whole other level when he figured out how to counter human born blindness via fusing a human’s eyesight with the cam feed of robotics. Eventually Karkorov won a Nobel Peace Prize for his works, but much like Alfred Nobel, Karkorov’s invention was gulped up by the armies of the world for use in warfare.
AUTHOR Bio and Links:
My name is Kevin Laymon. My passions are space exploration, music, sailing, snowboarding, wildlife, and of course writing. I have been writing for some time but the focus has been primarily on short stories and dark poems strictly for personal use. Future Winds is the first of a handful of novels I am working on for publication. I grew up in upstate New York and have lived up and down the east coast. New York is a location that holds a very special place in my heart. After working a wide range of jobs that I hated for far too long, Sara my significant other, and I decided earlier in 2015 to make some dramatic changes and travel. We scraped together some cash, I quit my job, and we moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where we live a libertarian life as vegetarians. We share our desertscape living quarters with an aquatic turtle named Taz and a rabbit named BunBear. On October 9th 2015 Sara & I got married in Las Vegas, Nevada. The sunshine in New Mexico has helped immensely in illuminating a greater perspective as to who I am and what I was placed on this planet to do; that is to teach and inspire. I have a hunger to awaken humanity so that we may break away from our programed way of thinking. Our minds are powerful and I encourage everyone to open them up, exercise them, and tap into the potential I know every living man woman and child has. Though my stories at times can be very dark there is a reason for everything I do. Perspective, perception, and relativity are everything in the world of literature.
Click n' Play Fashion Headband Kit
My Grand daughter is loving this headband kit. She is very crafty and is making some really cute headbands. Everything you need to make 10 headbands is included in the kit. We did have to buy some more glue and she did go through my craft room and found some other things to use on her headbands though. This is a basic kit but any kit has room for extra embellishments.
 In the kit is 10 satin covered headbands in different colors, rhinestones, flowers, feathers, a butterfly, yards of ribbon, glue, and more. This is a afternoon of fun for some girls others will take awhile to make all 10. All of my girls loved to dress up, and if they made it they loved showing it off even more. This is a great set for girls over 3, a 3 year old still could use adult supervision though there are some very small pices.
Dot&Dot - 1.25oz Travel Bottles
I love this little travel bottle. It is the perfect size for a weekend away. It holds 1.25 ounces and can be filled and refilled with any of your bathroom essentials like, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion or whatever. The bottle itself if a very soft and pliable 100% BPA-free silicone. This bottle also meets airline standards in size. I go the pink one, it is not totally clear but you can see through enough to know how much yo have in the bottle. The bottle has a screw on cap for filling and a flip top for using. There is also a suction cup built into the back of the bottle that will hang on tile or smooth shower walls. One of the coolest things about these bottles is around the ring of the bottle it has a pre-printed, easy-to-read label so you know what is inside the bottle, lotion or conditioner. These bottles could be used for other things also like condiments in a lunch box.
  These are really nice little bottles and made of very good quality materials. I am very happy with mine.
Measuring Cups - Best Set of 4 - Collapsible by Cook Delicious
I am absolutely thrilled with my new measuring cups. I love these so much. I love that they stack together and are less then an inch tall with all 4 cups put together. They have really given me back a good bit of space in my drawer. There are no stiff long handles to hang up in the drawer or with other items in the drawer. The measurements are exact. The are in such bright vibrant colors too. These are dishwasher safe but just as easy to wash with warm soapy water. My daughter saw them and is crying for a set. Thanksgiving is in a couple of days and these will get a great work out with our family of about 30 members, These would make a great gift or as part of a kitchen or baking themed gift basket.
