Durable Bright 2-in-1 LED Work Light Flashlight Review

This is a great light. It has a regular flashlight at the top a  3 inch wand type light on the side, a hook on the back, magnets on the bottom, and a movable kickstand. It takes 3 AA batteries which are included.
The hook will let you hang this light where ever you need it, it does rotate so you can get the light just where you need it. The movable kickstand base has the magnets on the bottom so you can stick it to any metal surface, then move the kickstand around to get the light where you need it, the kickstand also sets flat so you can set it on a table, the ground, or where ever and point the light to where you need it.
This light is a total of about 9 inches long, almost 2 inches thick and 2 1/2 inches wide, so it is compact. Works great in the home, the workshop, or the outdoors, camping fishing, hinting, whatever. IT is made out of a high strength aerospace aluminum alloy, with a non slip coating, and has a polycarbonate lens. The battery life is about 10 hours.

Barnaby Bellows the Big Blue Bear by Dave J. Harper Review

This is an adorable children's book It is about Barnaby Bellows who is a big blue bear, Barnaby has a huge imagination and is not afraid to use it. He also let's  kids and parents alike know that it is ok to use your imagination. In your imagination you can be who or what ever you want to be.
Dave J Harper has done a great job with this book. There are picture showing each of Barnaby's imaginary jobs also.
This book would be great for kids from very small to probably about 8. The words are not real hard either so beginner readers would also benefit from this book.

System Knife Sharpener Review

I love this knife sharpener. It has a very strong suction cup on the bottom with a latch on top to hold the suction and also release it. Nothing worse then trying to chase your knife sharpener around while trying to sharpen a butcher knife.
I also love the vibrant color. It has 2 separate sharpeners, one for coarse sharpening and one for fine honning.  System Knife Sharpener is the Best tool for Kitchen, Ceramic, Hunting, Fruit, Butterfly, Pocket and Survival knives.
I love to cook, I am a from scratch cook and I need sharp knives for cutting meats an vegetables. I personally think cutting boards are great, but i also think they reek havoc on your knives, so everyone should have one of these knife sharpeners from System. It is small about 4 inches long and about 2 inches wide, you could leave it suctioned to the side of your microwave and just run a knife down it a time or 2 each time you use it, and never have to worry about a dull knife again.

I received the product at a promotional price in exchange for my honest opinion.

Crafts 4 Kidz Liquid Chalk Markers 8 pack with 24 chalkboard stickers Review

Great set of Liquid Chalk Markers, a wide variety of vibrant colors, and I really love the chalkboard stickers that comes with the set of markers. I also love that they have a built in reversible tip, it goes from a fine line bullet tip ti a wide chisel tip. Works great on windows and mirrors. These are not made for chalkboards. I also noticed when using the darker ones on a old white dry erase board I have they stain a little, but I used a cleaner called awesome and it took the stain right off.
These are non toxic so safe for kids of all ages. I love creativity builders for kids and these crafts 4 kids markers are great for that.

Chef Remi's Cooking Thermometer Review

Chef Remi's Cooking Thermometer is a very nice thermometer. It is a digital thermometer, it's about 9 inches long. The probe is about 6 inches long, so it is great for even large turkeys or hams It  comes in a plastic tube, which I love, My gadget drawer is filled to capacity, but storing the thermometer in the tube I don't have to worry about it getting turned on and draining the battery, I don't have to worry about the LCD screen getting broken, nor do I have to worry about the probe getting bent. Batteries are included!!
This is great because you no longer need a meat thermometer, a candy thermometer, and any other thermometer, this one is a total food thermometer. So you just need this one, I can clean a few things out of that gadget drawer now.
This digital Thermometer reads in both Fahrenheit and Celsius and has a range of-58°F to 572ºF (-50ºC to 300°C). I cleaned mine with a warm soapy cloth and rand the probe under hot water to rinse. Being digital it is not dishwasher safe.
I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

Calming the Chaos

Q. You wrote a book called Calming the Chaos. That seems to be the most compelling topic these days. Everyone seems to be in chaos! How do you understand that and do you address this in the book?

A. Yes, I call it the cultural paradigm we are living in. Everyone is “crazy busy.” I point to a few factors to help people realize that this is not a personal weakness, but a cultural experience that we are having. This is the “information era” and 90% of the world’s data has been created in the last 3 years. The rate of data and information being created is accelerating at increasing rates. We are all undergoing “Information Fatigue” – constantly being inundated with more info, Tweets, posts and news. It is exhausting to try to keep up or process it all. “Having it all” has been up-leveled by “doing it all.”

Q. You address this in an interesting way in the book talking about why being “busy” is a bust. Say more about that?

A. Everyone is so busy that it is not even remotely interesting any longer! It doesn’t feel good to hear it from other people and we don’t feel good when we say it, and yet everyone walks around saying “I’m so busy!” It is a very low consciousness, low energy phrase. What people don’t realize is that there is a set of characteristics that go with being busy that we need to train ourselves out of. Those are things such as being disorganized, uncertain, scattered, stressed and overwhelmed. When people realize that they are in fact contributing to the “crazy busy” syndrome, it is the beginning of being able to change it.

Q. What do you suggest instead?

A. In the book, I write about being productive rather than busy. Just like there is an energy to the “I’m so busy” phrase, there is also an energy to the word “productive.” Right away most people can see and feel that “productive” feels better. It denotes being accomplished, organized, orderly, planned and focused. Anyone can develop the skill set that goes with being productive. It just takes an understanding of the difference and for people to see how much they are contributing to their crazy busy life.

Q. So how do people develop the skill of productivity?

A. There are many ways, but some of them are
o   Plan your day
o   Stop multitasking, but work in a focused way for 60-90 minutes at a time on something before shifting their attention and energy onto something else.
o   Take breaks between focused work sessions. Stop using mental focus for 10-15 minutes and get up, walk around, listen to music, call a friend or do some deep breathing and light stretching.
o   Turn off alarms, alerts and pop-ups.
o   Don’t answer the phone during the focused work periods.
o   Review your scheduled plan at the end of the day and move anything forward into another day and time slot of when you will accomplish anything you did not get to.

Q. What surprised you most about writing this book?

A. I never really can tell if my writing is any good when I am in the middle of it. It’s just my own mind mulling over the same writing over and over again. What has been a lovely surprise is the incredibly good feedback I have gotten from people far and wide on how this book and the exercises in it have really helped to inspire people to change and calm the chaos in their lives!
