BLURB:
Liana has lost much to Herka's manipulations, though nothing so precious as her sanity. Emerging from
her madness, she finds the world changed - her body wasted, her son gone, and her kingdom still

DAUGHTER OF MADNESS tells the story of a princess and her twin, a soldier and his king, and an
oracle who is more than she seems.

Excerpt Two:
He remembered the moment that the curse had claimed him.
The king sat in the garden, and the moon shone down. There was a phantom caress on his skin, an ice
cold hand.
cold hand.
Darkness bloomed in his blood.
He remembered the moment, over and over, the darkness rising, rising, swamping him.
There was terror there, but for the king it was an old terror. He had lived with the darkness now for a
timeless time, and in the darkness he was sheltered. He remembered nothing. He was nothing. That
was good, for the man that had been a king sensed that he had failed, that he had hurt. The world
beyond the darkness was made of nothing that he wanted to see again.

But no night could last forever.
The man who had been Alexander came back to himself in blood.

Daughter of Madness
Interview with Amanda J. McGee
1. Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
This changes a lot depending on the story. There are times when I pants more than I plot - pantsers being improvisational writers and plotters being more methodical. But usually I decide where things go in advance, and then as I write along sometimes I realize that something has not worked or the characters are moving a different direction and I have to reorganize.
2. Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
Well, DAUGHTER OF MADNESS is the second in a series, so one argument for it being a must read is if you want to find out what happened next! But if you haven’t read either book yet, I’d say this book is a must read if you like intrigue, fast-paced adventures, and darker plots.
3. Have you written any other books that are not published?
Oh yes. I’ve got one shelf book, which is a story about a girl who washes up on a beach and is adopted by nomadic people who are later killed and her trying to survive and figure out where she came from. It has some pacing issues, etc, so it needs a solid workshop. I’ve got another novel I would love to see published which I’ve put a lot of work into but it involves zombies and the market got a bit saturated. It’s also a comedy. I am hopeful as to its eventual fate but I’d probably have to publish it under another pen name. And I just finished a lovely novella I’m shopping around. So yes, a few, and no doubt more to come. The idea chest is never empty.
4. Pen or type writer or computer?
Pen or computer. I do a lot of my initial drafting for projects by pen when I’m stuck, since it helps me focus. I do some by computer though, so it really depends on the project and other factors like time, etc. I edit entirely in pen, because I cannot for the life of me find errors on a computer screen as efficiently or sometimes at all. But once changes are made in the computer document I do all my formatting digitally of course.
5. Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
If you read a book and like it, leave a review! I am not alone in getting on this soapbox, but really. Authors live off of reviews, especially nowadays with Amazon algorithms to struggle with. It doesn’t even have to involve words really, just click those stars!
