11-year-old Fritz Reynolds recalled his father telling him that man is the only creature who can find amusement in killing. Little did he realize that those words would become the theme for his teenage years growing up in the rural hamlet of Linden, New York. In this coming-of-age story, Fritz takes us back to a simpler time when neighbors gathered at the general store to listen to radio shows, drank barrel-aged cider, and worshiped at the Baptist church every Sunday. All was picturesque in his close-knit farming community until terror was unleashed on them.

Interview with Suzanne Zewan
Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
Great question!
At times, while writing Shadow by the Bridge I do feel that on a couple of occasions, the characters hijacked the story. So, I had to step back and think about the scene, and if it kept bothering me because it didn’t feel right, I had to go back and either delete it or revise it until it felt right.
Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
“Linden Triple Slayer Eludes Net: Authorities are Determined Mysterious Linden Murderer Shall Not Escape Justice,” The Daily News headline read on March 12, 1924. Shadow by the Bridge is a story of a young boy who lived in the rural farming community of Linden, NY during the most horrific years the area had ever seen. The story takes readers back to a simpler time when neighbors gathered at the general store to listen to radio shows, drank barrel-aged cider, and worshiped at the Baptist church every Sunday. All was picturesque in the close-knit community until one of their own unleashed terror on them.
Chilling. Suspenseful. Heart wrenching. Tragic...
Have you written any other books that are not published?
No. However, I am currently writing a young adult paranormal thriller.
Pen or type writer or computer?
Always a computer. I can type so much faster than I can handwrite.
Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
I appreciate all who are willing to give a new author a chance. Over the past several years, I worked hard to learn how to tell a good story, write well, and create a page turner. I hope my book doesn’t disappoint.
