Micah…
I served my country and returned broken. Trying to fit the pieces back
together, I built the Broken Rebel Brotherhood. We walked a fine line between
right and wrong to protect those who had nowhere else to turn. I’d never mixed
business with pleasure. That is, until her.

Sadie…
After years of abuse at the hands of my husband, I’d had enough. The only
way to live was to run. Disappear. Life had other plans for me. Plans that
included a sexy biker. I wasn’t looking for love, and I certainly didn’t think
I could trust again. That is, until him.

Life had been cruel too many times to count, but the worst was yet to
come. Will love be enough to keep them from shattering?

The Broken Rebel Brotherhood series consists of
three complete stories with guaranteed HEA’s. All three books can be read as a
standalone. Each book contains subject matter that some may find disturbing.
Reader discretion is advised.

Micah scooped me up
in his arms, carried me to the bed and gently placed me on the mattress. I
could still see the ticking in his jaw.  He sat down beside me on the edge
of the bed and sighed.
“First of all, do
not apologize for your sass. I love it. Second, don’t ever apologize for
speaking your mind or standing up for yourself or for demanding answers. Third,
I hope to God that you weren’t suggesting that you have to pay me for my
kindness with sexual favors. I don’t work like that. I’m not going to lie and
say that I don’t like a good fuck, because I do. I am a man after all. But I
have never forced a woman to do something she doesn’t want to do and I sure as
shit ain’t starting now. I can tell that you haven’t had good experiences where
the male species are concerned, but sweetness, I’m going to show you that not
all men are snakes.” Micah breathed in deeply through his nose and then
released it through his mouth.
“I’m sor—”
“If you say you’re
sorry one more time, we’re going to have issues, you and me. The last thing I
want to tell you before I get Doc back in here to check your wounds, is this.
You are welcome here in the main house for as long as you need to be here.
Shit, you're welcome anywhere on this property. You will be protected, and no
one will hurt you. The BRB will do whatever is necessary to ensure that. Now,
do you think you will be okay in here for a few minutes while I get Doc? You
won’t try to run again?”
All I could do was
nod. He’d said a lot in the past few minutes and I tried to take it all in. He
couldn’t be real. As I watched him stand up and walk to the door, a thought
occurred to me.
“Wait!”
“What, sweetness?”
Micah looked over his shoulder at me, eyebrows raised.
“What’s the
BRB?”
“Sweetness, the BRB
is your family now. We’re the Broken Rebel Brotherhood.”

with the devil, trying to keep my buddies from finding out that she’s
everything I ever wanted.

—GRACYN—

until he saves me from myself. It was only supposed to be one sinful night.

Excerpt

Drew huffs. “Her
fathers are gonna tear you limb from limb,” he says from experience.
“The only person that hurts is Gracyn.”

“Why can’t it be someone else? Anyone but her?” Drew scrubs a thick paw over
his face in frustration.

“Do you think I haven’t questioned that myself?” Taking the chance he won’t be
the first to throw a punch, I ask a something which has been on my mind a lot
lately. “Did you when it came to Brier?”
“All the damn time.” He pinches his jaw.
I couldn’t hold in the chuckle that escapes me if I tried.
“You know how many of us there are to answer to if things go south?” He meets
my eyes. Cold hatred dissolves into morbid concern.

My heart has held a
place for him since I was fifteen years old. I never thought I’d actually be
friends with him, let alone friends who held hands.
When we get to the
library, I unfortunately have to unclasp our fingers so I can get my keys and
open the door. I turn to tell him thank you when he pushes the door open and motions
for me to precede him. “Ga—”
“Go.” He interrupts
me, and instead of arguing, I go in and turn on the lights. After I set my
purse beneath my desk, I stand fully and twitch at the shock of seeing him so
close. “I’m gonna take off. You done at six?”
“You don’t need to
wa—”
“Cady, baby, I don’t
do anything I don’t want to. So stop telling me what I don’t need when I know
exactly what I want.”
My breath freezes in
my throat at the implication.
“So I’ll ask again,
are you off at six?”
Unable to form a
sentence, I simply nod.
And then he leans
forward, just slightly, and I jump when his hand slides through my hair and his
fingers cradle my head. His lips ever so gently brush against my cheek, and he
glides his hand out of my hair, down my neck, and halfway over my collarbone
before he lifts it again and cups my jaw, then runs his thumb across my lower
lip. “Later, sugar.”

Excerpt #3

The Captives
The red-haired man who had once been Othal, swordsman of Lerric’s personal guard, looked about him in confusion. He had somehow traveled through a misty, shimmering cloud to this strange place, and he had a task. He had a vague recollection of something dreadful happening to him, something violating, invasive, and agonizing, but had no clear memory of what. Or who had done it. He could not even remember what he had done yesterday. His life before this moment was a blur. All he knew was he hurt and an imperative existed in his mind. If he did not carry out his orders to exacting standards, he would suffer horribly.
Shivering in fear, he scratched at his chest, yelping when his dirty nails caught on a painful spot. He glanced down at his clothing, pulling it away with one hand. The raw, running sore that met his eyes nearly provoked a memory, but it left as quickly as it came. As he readjusted his clothing, Othal forgot both pain and sore.
He hid among winter-bare woodlands, close by a worn path. Evergreen shrubs surrounded black-limbed trees, affording him cover from the wind and the cold, as well as casual eyes. Not that there were any. He had been here since dawn without seeing a soul.
His eyes, prickling from the cold, gazed at the rope. One end was tied to the bole of a tree opposite; the other lay at his feet. He had brushed snow over its length with a branch, also wiping out his own tracks. His subjugated mind did not question what he had done. His actions were automatic. All he needed to do now was wait.
There it was. The thump of hoof beats. His own heart pounded as he readied himself. He took up the free end of the rope, eyeing the pathway to his right, from whence the rider would come. Courage and sure-footedness were prerequisites for runners and their horses. The pair would be moving fast.
Othal had orders not to permanently damage horse or rider. It was vital they be fit to carry out their duties. He must time his attack to perfection. Too early and the horse might see the rope in time to jump it cleanly. Too late and it might tangle its limbs, breaking a leg or its neck. Neither was acceptable. Othal desired the horse to swerve abruptly, throwing its rider, who should land softly on the recent fall of snow.
Well, that was the plan.
The muffling snow was playing tricks on him and the pair was closer than Othal had thought. He was nearly too late with the rope. He jerked it tight at the last moment, but still the horse tripped over it. Squealing in fear and pain, the beast thudded to the ground in a flurry of legs, kicking out and scattering snow. Taken by surprise, the rider yelled, pitching over the horse’s shoulder to land heavily at the base of a tree.
Othal leaped from hiding, another shorter length of rope in his hands. He sped to the dazed rider as the horse scrambled upright. He knelt beside the groaning rider and pulled the young man’s arms tight behind his back.
The rider yelped again, but Othal took no notice. The youth’s eyes flew open, fastening on Othal as the ropes bit. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he rasped, his pale face spattered with dirty snow. “I’m a King’s runner. You risk death by harming me. I carry nothing of interest to you, scum, so you might as well let me go. And my horse is branded, so you won’t be able to sell it.”
Othal knew this. He knew all about Elias’s runner system and how it operated. He had heard Lerric’s grudgingly admiring comments many a time, and his sullen laments about not having the funds to set up a similar service himself. Othal ignored the rider and crossed to the shivering horse. He caught its reins, soothing it with a murmured word. He ran a practiced hand down its slender legs, relieved to find no heat in the tendons. He led it forward a few steps. It was sound.
He breathed a sigh of relief. He had fulfilled the first part of his orders. Going back to the young man, who was still trying to convince his captor to let him go, Othal stared down at him. The youth was barely more than a boy, and Othal felt a twinge of doubt. Would the lad be old enough? Would he have the knowledge his master required? What if he wasn’t a local? But that was not likely. This place was so remote, so isolated. No one in their right mind would come here looking for employment if they lived far away. Many did not even know of its existence.
Bending to the lad, Othal tapped him below one ear with the butt of his dagger. The youth collapsed, unconscious. Checking that the precious message pouch was still secure on the runner’s belt, Othal picked him up and slung him across his horse’s saddle. Using the rope he had brought the beast down with, Othal fashioned long reins to the horse’s bit. He walked behind the animal, driving it like a plow horse, stepping in the prints of its hooves to mask his tracks as he made for his hiding place. Now all he had to do was wait for his master’s call.

I know what she
needs. She needs me to adore her. She needs to see versions of herself
expressed from the perspective of another being. I will create images of her
from the elements, and this will draw unto me.
Mada painted an
image of Afar inside of a nearby cave. He painted himself in the picture
holding her hand, with the sun shining rays of love from above both of their
heads, surrounded by trees and birds. He wrote at the bottom of the painting is
a universal language, “I love you. I love you. I love you. Collapsing space and
time, you are already mine.”
When Afar saw
the painting in the cave, she pressed her body against it and attempted to hug
it—but her arms could not fit around the giant life-size painting in the
cave.  “I love you, too,” she whispered
to the picture.

Afar used her
goddess powers and merged into the painting, breathing life into the painting
of her and Mada on the cave wall. She animated the picture, and she and Mada
walked hand in hand along the beach, tossed pebbles into the water, only
stopping to kiss her passionately beneath the smiling sun. After saturating her
likeness with Mada’s love for her, Afar exited the painting on the cave wall
and left it as she had found it.

Interview with Cassandra George Sturges

Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
When I am writing research papers, self-help articles, or any type of writing where I am summarizing, re-telling, or reporting data or facts ---I have the reigns. It is easier for me to access this type of writing. When I am writing fiction, poems, or songs—I feel like the content is down-loaded to me from another world.
Yes, Yes, Yes, my Jungle Beauty Goddesses’ characters hijacked my story. I remember when I was writing chapter 1, in Aquatic Ball –Book 2 of the series—I honestly had no idea of what was going on in the storyline. I just knew that it was important to obey the uncontrollable urge to dictate the story that was haunting me.
Whenever I try to control the plot, dialogue, or story line, I get writer’s block. In the past, I have tried to petition and negotiate with the writing gods and muses to let characters live and avoid tragedies —to no avail. I take diction from the realm of my imagination; and no matter how hurt, shocked, or disappointed I am in how the story is coming through—I have come to realize that I am not creating the story – I am channeling the characters and allowing their stories to come into existence via my psychological and cultural life experiences.
Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
Ethically, I can only convince you as to why you shouldn’t read my book.
If you adhere to traditional religious beliefs, you may find my book offensive. In my book all spiritual and religious figures from all time and space are siblings who love each other. Yes, Jesus, Kwan Yin, Shiva, Buddha and anyone else you can think of are siblings who love and adore each other. They discuss how difficult it is to keep their life forms on their planets happy.
If it troubles you to contemplate the idea that God is a woman—this is not the book for you.
If you are uncomfortable with steamy, hot,  sizzling ,cheesy love scenes without the use of profanity—you will find yourself feeling a little bothered and uneasy.
If you are uncomfortable with a woman, who unleashes her shadow-self and takes what she wants—you should definitely not read this book.
If you are uncomfortable with race relations on planet Earth and an alternate and plausible history why people act the way they do towards each other this book will make you feel uncomfortable.
Lastly, if you are not comfortable with possibly seeing the world from a different perspective and questioning your reality—this is definitely not a book that you should read.

Have you written any other books that are not published?
Yes, the one book that I have not published yet, is titled, “How to Find Your Soul Purpose.” It is a workbook with several exercises to help people align with their divine purpose. I think the reason, I have not published it yet is because I don’t want to be a hypocrite. I am in my mid-fifties and I am finally going for my supreme dream. I think publishing and marketing my Jungle Beauty Goddess books will give me more in-depth insight and authority on the subject matter.
Pen or typewriter or computer?
Number 2 pencil, legal pad, candle light only, sitting at the dining room table. When I am writing fiction, I need to write in pencil first—then I type it into my computer. Anything else, articles, non-fiction, etc…, I can easily type it on the computer. Fiction—I can only write using a pencil first. There is something about the way pencil feels when I press it onto the paper. Holding the pencil is the only control I have when I am writing fantasy fiction. It’s like an anchor that keeps me grounded to Earth.
Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?

We all came to Earth to love each, entertain each other, support each other, and teach each other. Doctors need sick patients just as much as sick patients need doctors. The purpose of our existence is to share our gifts and talents with the world.  When we abandon our mission, we make it difficult for others to fulfill their life purpose. There is a person who signed a soul contract with you to turn your book into a movie, or illustrate your pages, or become your editor, or play the saxophone in your band, or work for your company—but if you never pursue your dream other dreams are also affected. Thank you for sharing a brief moment of your time in this realm of reality with me to bring my dream to life.
