Top Trouble by Tara Sue Me

Top Trouble
Tara Sue Me
Publication date: August 20th 2019
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Some say they’ve been arguing for years.

Others say it’s just a really long foreplay session.

Tara Sue Me returns to the seductive world of the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Submissive Series with a new standalone romance.

Evan Martin isn’t sure what it is about Kelly Bowman that makes him want to push every button she has and then find new ones so he can push those, too. He swears up and down he’s only interested in getting under her skin, but he’s pretty sure everyone sees right through him. What other choice does he have, though? She’s a Domme and he’s a Dom, there’s no way they could ever work. Not that he’s interested. Because he’s not.

Really.

So why does the news she’s moving halfway across the country leave him feeling lost?

Kelly’s not certain exactly what she’s looking for, but she knows it isn’t going to be found in Wilmington, Delaware. After living through several northern winters, she’s ready to move back to her childhood home of Dallas, Texas. What she’s not ready for is to say goodbye to an infuriating Dom she can’t get out of her mind.

A drunken confession to Evan at her going away party has the potential to change everything, but is Evan willing to take that chance?

Author Bio:

NEW YORK TIMES/USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

Even though she graduated with a degree in science, Tara knew she'd never be happy doing anything other than writing. Specifically, writing love stories.

She started with a racy BDSM story and found she was not quite prepared for the unforeseen impact it would have. Nonetheless, she continued and The Submissive Series novels would go on to be both New York Times and USA Today Bestsellers. One of those, THE MASTER, was a 2017 RITA finalist for Best Erotic Romance. Well over one million copies of her books have been sold worldwide.

Now she is focusing on new contemporary romances that allow her the freedom to write and publish on her own schedule.

A Sea of Lies by H. Dillon Hunt

Title: A Sea of Lies
Author: H. Dillon Hunt
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Nerdy, Dirty & Flirty - “This was a beautiful but emotional story.”

Dandelions Inspired - “There are no words to describe the emotions that this fantastic author evokes in a girl!”

Goodreads Review - “Definitely recommend, great read!”

Bree Harrington and Sam Hudson have oceans between them. For one thing, she’s married. The legitimacy of her marriage, or lack thereof, is not enough to push their relationship past the bounds of friendship, but it doesn’t take long to realize they’ve both found something others have searched the world for... The other half of their soul.

Sam leaves Bree breathless from the moment they meet. Bree leaves Sam heartless from the moment she leaves.

When Bree’s husband dies, she finds herself utterly alone. And after years of trying to put the broken pieces back together, fate gives her and Sam a second chance. But the years of distance between them have come with many omitted truths. Can a once in a lifetime kind of love survive a sea of lies?

H. Dillon Hunt lives in Huntsville, Alabama where she grew up and will never ever, ever get to leave. If she had it her way, she would live in Seattle, but she loves her family so she stays in the slow-moving, muggy, Ala-freakin-bama.

She and her husband Tim have five fur-babies together, two dogs Sammi and Shadow and three cats, Teddy, Thea, and Felicity. When she isn't writing, she's reading Harry Potter (Ravenclaw but a Slytherin if you cross her), working as a makeup artist, or riding horses. By day, she works as an interior designer and wedding planner, and by night she writes and tries to live out her fantasy as a rock star. She is currently writing her third standalone novel, which will release in 2020.

10-Minute Crystal Ball: Easy Tips for Developing Your Inner Wisdom and Psychic Powers by Skye Alexander

This book is broken down into 2 parts. The first part of the book explains the fundamentals of psychic phenomena. It is easy to read book and does not get overly technical so is great for the beginner. The 2nd part of the book is filled with over 400 tips and tricks for exploring and developing your own psychic powers. The book tells you we all have the ability you just how to figure out how to bring it out of yourself. The 2nd part of this book will help you in easy to do 10 minute exercises in order to sharpen your personal abilities.

The introduction itself tells you if you are not interested n learning the fundamentals feel free to skip to part 2. For this review I personally did not skip part 1. Part 1 does tell you the different types more or less of psychic ability. It explains in a short order what these mean like auras, and the sixth sense. Then it tells you ways of helping you to trian your mind through meditation, dreams and things like that.

There is a section on tools like divination rods, Tarot Cards, runes and more to help you receive the messages from the other side.

Part 2 like I said are the exercises to help you develop and bring forward your abilities. These are very simple things you can do. You should set aside just 10 minutes a day to do just 1 of the exercises. Personally for me I have written down each exercise on a index card I cut in half and put them in a small box. Each day I will reach into the box and pull a random card and that will be my exercise for the day.

For instance today my exercise was: Sense colors:
Take five sheets of colored paper in different hues, close your eyes, and mix them up. Lay the sheets of paper out on a table. With your eyes still closed, hold your hand over each sheet and see if you can feel what color it is. This is from the book, so you can see how simple most of the exercises are.

This is a great reference book to keep around. I cannot honestly say Yes this book works, I have not been doing this long enough but I am getting 10 minutes or down time a day with the hope that in the long run it will make me psychically stronger.

Summoned to Thirteenth Grave Charley Davidson, Book 13 By: Darynda Jones

5*

I have listened to or read every book in the Charlie Davidson series. I was hooked on this series before the end of the 1st chapter in the first book. Darynda Jones is an amazing author, not only with this series but other books she has written as well. I am sad to see this series come to an end. I feel like Charlie, Reyes, Cookie, UB and the rest of the characters are like old friends who are moving to Mars, so I will never hear from them again. There is always hope for Beep to get a series in the future though. The ending to this book was not what I expected at all, and I can't say I was thrilled with it, but the story leading up to the end was great as per usual with this series.

Lorelei King is an amazing narrator and I think if another person head been the narrator it would not have been as great. I love how she portrays each character in the book especially Charlie. I love the life she breathed into her with her telling of all 1 books. Charlie is kind of a smartelick and Lorelei brings it. You can feel all the emotions good, bad, fun, and danger filled in all 13 books. It's like Darynda wrote these books for Lorelei to narrate. They are the perfect team.

I would love to see this series become a movie or television show. The whole series must be read in order or you may be a bit lost, t is a series after all and and one book picks up where the last left off. In this book Charlie was banished for eternity for bringing Amber back from the dead, her best friend Cookie's daughter. She has been gone 100 years when she is freed. but in earth time its only been 10 days. The battle between good and evil is ramping up and they must make sure Beep, Charlie and Reyes' daughter, is safe who will ultimately save the world as we know it.

Sorry no real spoilers, you must grab this book, actually the whole series. it is a must read/listen to.

Colombian Killers The True Stories of the Three Most Prolific Serial Killers on Earth By: Ryan Green

This book I only 1 hour and 44 minutes long and covers 3 serial killers Luis Alfredo Garavito, Pedro Alonzo Lopez, and Daniel Camargo Barbosa. Each mans story is told, leaving out a lot of the details of the murders they committed. Which is probably a good thing since their targets were mainly children and young teenagers. The thing that just ticks me off which has nothing to do with the author Ryan Green or his telling but with the sentences these men received.  You can get more time in the US for beating an animal these they got for sexually abusing and killing multiple children. Also the fact that Ryan Green says in the book that this is societies fault. I have to wholeheartedly disagree. This is not societies fault. These people are sick and twisted, it is their fault. It is the governments fault they got such short sentences though. Yes this was many years ago and now the laws are tougher but 16 years is just nuts, and these men did not even get the full 16 years.  I honestly do not know how they body count could be so high before they were caught. I understand Columbia is a poor country which is where most of the murders took place, but with that many children being missing I just can't understand. This story will probably haunt me for a long while.

I am positive these stories could be broken into fill length books for each person but I think I am kind of glad Ryan Green took the approach he did and grouped them together in this short book. The 3 men had nothing to do with each other during their killing sprees. In fact 2 of them knew nothing about each other until they met in prison. They were just the same kind of sick and twisted individuals. All 3 had rough lives as children themselves and were sexually abused, which just makes it even harder for me to fathom as to why they would want to do this to other children knowing what they went through themselves. Between the 3 of they they were charged with 329 murders but the number they killed could actually be over 750.

Ryan Green done an amazing job of bringing this story without delving to deep into the acts themselves of the murders. I don't think I could of handled full details of all the murders, It's bad enough knowing they sexually abused these kids then killed then, then buried their bodies.  The book is Narrated by Ernie Sprance. Who brings the chilling facts, investigation, and trials of these cases to life in a somber but interesting way.

Linda Bennett Pennell Author Spotlight

Al
Capone at the Blanche Hotel
by
Linda Bennett Pennell
Genre:
Historical, Contemporary Suspense

Al
Capone at the Blanche Hotel
tells
a story of lives unfolding in different centuries, but linked and
irrevocably altered by a series of murders in 1930.

Lake
City, Florida, June, 1930: Al Capone checks in for an unusually long
stay at the Blanche Hotel, a nice enough joint for an insignificant
little whistle stop. The following night, young Jack Blevins
witnesses a
body
being dumped heralding the summer of violence to come. One-by-one,
people controlling county vice activities swing from KKK ropes. No
moonshine distributor, gaming operator, or brothel madam, black
or
white,
is safe from the Klan's self-righteous vigilantism. Jack's older
sister Meg, a waitress at the Blanche, and her fiancé, a sheriff's
deputy, discover reasons to believe the lynchings are cover for a
much larger ambition than simply ridding the county of vice. Someone,
possibly backed by Capone, has secret plans for filling the voids
created by the killings. But as the body count grows and crosses
burn, they come to realize this knowledge may get all of them
killed.

Gainesville,
Florida, August, 2011: Liz Reams, an up and coming young academic
specializing in the history of American crime, impulsively moves
across the continent to follow a man who convinces her of
his devotion
yet refuses to say the three simple words “I love you”. Despite
the entreaties of friends and family, she is attracted to edginess
and a certain type of glamour in her men, both living and historical.
Her personal
life is an emotional roller coaster, but her career options suddenly
blossom beyond all expectation, creating a very different type of
stress. To deal with it all, Liz loses herself in her professional
passion, original research into the life and times of her favorite
bad boy, Al Capone. What she discovers about 1930's summer of
violence, and herself in the process, leaves her reeling at first and
then changed forever.

Miami
Days, Havana Nights

by
Linda Bennett Pennell
Genre:
Historical, Contemporary Suspense

A follow up to Al
Capone at the Blanche Hotel, Miami Days Havana Nights tells the story
of 1920-1960's gangsters and the young female history professor
determined to suss out their secrets.

Sometimes
our biggest debts have nothing to do with money.

1926.
When seventeen-year-old Sam Ackerman witnesses a mob hit, he is
hustled out of New York under the protection of Moshe Toblinsky,
A.K.A., the mob’s bookkeeper. Arriving in Miami with no money, no
friends, and no place to hide, Sam’s only choice is to do as the
gangster demands. Forced into bootlegging, Sam’s misery is
compounded when he falls in love. Amazingly, the beautiful, devout
Rebecca wants only him, but he cannot give her the life she deserves.
When Prohibition ends, Sam begs the mobster to set him free. The
price? A debt, as Toblinsky puts it, of friendship. A debt that will
one day come due.

Present
Day. History of American Crime professor Liz Reams has it all—early
success, a tantalizing lead on new info about Moshe Toblinsky, and a
wonderful man to love. Life is perfect. So what’s keeping her from
accepting her guy’s marriage proposals? Confronting a long-standing
personal debt sets her on a journey of self-discovery. While she
delves ever deeper into Sam’s and Toblinsky’s relationship, her
understanding of her own relationships increases as well, but the
revelations come at a price. The emotional and physical dangers of
her dual journeys may prove too big to handle.

I
have been in love with the past for as long as I can remember.
Anything with a history, whether shabby or majestic, recent or
ancient, instantly draws me in. I suppose it comes from being part of
a large extended family that spanned several generations. Long summer
afternoons on my grandmother's porch or winter evenings gathered
around her fireplace were filled with stories both entertaining and
poignant. Of course being set in the American South, those stories
were also peopled by some very interesting characters, some of whom
have found their way into my work.

As
for my venture in writing, it has allowed me to reinvent myself. We
humans are truly multifaceted creatures, but unfortunately we tend to
sort and categorize each other into neat, easily understood packages
that rarely reveal the whole person. Perhaps you, too, want to step
out of the box in which you find yourself. I encourage you to look at
the possibilities and imagine. Be filled with childlike wonder in
your mental wanderings. Envision what might be, not simply what is.
Let us never forget, all good fiction begins when someone says to her
or himself, "Let's pretend."

I
reside in the Houston area with one sweet husband and one adorable
German Shorthaired Pointer who is quite certain she’s a little
girl.

"History
is filled with the sound of silken slippers going downstairs and
wooden shoes coming up." Voltaire
