Storm of the Gods by Amy Braun

Storm
of the Gods
An
Areios Brothers Novel #1
by
Amy Braun

Genre:
Urban Fantasy

Thirty
years ago, the gods of Greek legend returned to the world. Their
return restored their powers, which had been spent in a cataclysmic
battle with the Titans. With the ancient deities imprisoned in
Tartarus, the Olympians now reside in Néo Vasíleio, formerly known
as California.

Twenty-four-year-old
Derek Aerios is a war scion, a descendant of Ares, the God of War. He
and his brother, eighteen-year-old Liam, capture mythological
creatures and rogue scions as part of Ares's elite military force. As
he struggles to cope with his violent powers and the scars of a
traumatic childhood, Derek tries to keep the two vows he has made:
protect his brother, and never kill a human again.

But
when Ares forces him to hunt and kill four rogue scions under
Athena's control—by threatening Liam's life—Derek chooses to go
after the scions in order to save his brother and keep his promise to
himself.

Yet
the closer Derek gets to the scions, the more he realizes that his
orders are part of a deeper conspiracy that put him at odds with his
mission and his conscience. Athena may not be the enemy, a traitor
could be in their midst, and the Titans could be closer to freedom
than ever before.

Luna Caged Part One by Margaret McHeyzer

Title: Luna Caged Part One: Behind the Wall

I often stare at the
walls and wonder what’s beyond them.

The Elders tell me that nothing but sin, sadness, and disease lie beyond the
wall.

Sometimes I hear things, noises that are strange to me. They’re often faint,
and when I ask the Elders what those sounds are, they tell me they are the
tortured souls of thousands of people behind the gates of hell. I don’t know
what they mean.

I dream of leaving these walls, but the Elders insist this is the only place
we’re safe. They talk about danger, hatred, and the devil himself waiting just
beyond. They tell us the walls were built to keep us safe.

Although I believe the Elders, I want to see the outside world for myself.

But there’s no way out.

Or so I thought...

Excerpt

He grabs
the back of my neck, squeezes, and pulls me along to the bath. He dunks my head
into the water, I try to scream and fight him. As I inhale, I take in water,
unable to catch my breath because my head is held under.

He lifts my
head, and I try to suck air into my lungs. “Stop!” I manage to splutter.

The voice
plays in the background. “We are your family. Beyond the wall is death. Beyond
the wall is evil. You will die if you leave. Only we can protect you.”

He dunks my
head straight under the water again. I barely have the chance to get air into
my lungs. I’m trying to fight him, clawing at his arms to let me up. I try to
scream again, but I’m only taking in more water. My body is in agony, my chest
is exploding with fire and sizzling pain.

He lifts my
head, leans down and whispers, “We are your family. Beyond the wall is death.
Beyond the wall is evil. You will die if you leave. Only we can protect you.”

“No, you’re
not! Family doesn’t do this.”

He
chuckles, then adds, “You’re a hard one to break.” Then quickly submerges my
head again under the water. I try to fight him again. But I feel his other hand
come up to the back of my head, holding me under.

The words
are loud, and I can still hear them. But the panic inside my body is enough to
fuel me to hold strong. “We are (not) your family. Beyond the wall is (life
not) death. Beyond the wall is (good and not) evil. You will die (live) if you
leave. Only we can (won’t) protect you.”

He lifts my
head. I try to breathe in, knowing what he’s going to continue doing. I save my
words and strength, it’s no use fighting with him. Not when he’s got control
over me just by his mere size and power.

**Write something worth reading**

I'm Margaret and I'm a self-published author.

Recently I was
fortunate in obtaining New York Times best-selling status on my YA/NA book -
Ugly, and my YA book - Mistrust.

My last six books have been YA and I'm completely in love with the genre. I
love being able to communicate with people through my words and stories.

My writing genres all differ, but the one thing I keep consistent is my
heroines. All my female lead characters are strong, gutsy and not the 'perfect'
woman. While my books all have romantic elements in them, they aren't just
about the romance. They're about finding strength, acceptance and making life
long connections.

I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I have while writing them.

Right Girl Wrong Timing by Natalie Decker

Right Girl, Wrong Timing
Natalie Decker
(Offsides, #3)
Published by: Swoon Romance
Publication date: March 12th 2019
Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult

Adaline Frost’s life officially sucks. Now that her BFF has found her true love, Addy is constantly stuck being the third wheel. On top of that, she hasn’t started her junior project yet, so her advisor pairs her up with what could only be described as the “Reject Breakfast Club.” Instead of the weirdo and the troublemaker, Addy is forced to work with two stoners, a popular girl, and her crush, Austin Reed, the jock who broke her heart.

Austin Reed is sick of being labeled “dumb jock.” If he doesn’t get an A on this project, he can kiss his future goodbye. Austin thought he’d gotten lucky being partners with the very nerdy Adaline Frost, but boy was he wrong. Addy jumps down his throat about his being late and calls him names like “manwhore” on the daily. She has no idea Austin works before and after school in order to help his mom with the bills. Yeah, he’s made mistakes and has had lots of girlfriends, but he doesn’t need Adaline Frost to remind him of it every time he sees her.

Can Austin and Addy ever be a thing?

Right Girl Wrong Timing is book 3 in the Offsides series by Natalie Decker.

EXCERPT:

I’m about to go forward and talk to her, but I divert from that plan as soon as I see Greg stepping up next to her. He’s blocking her from my view with his douchiness.

She said they weren’t dating at the dance. That was weeks ago, so why the hell is he still hanging around her? Why are his fingers clasping wisps of her hair? He shouldn’t be touching her.

This feeling is not sitting right with me at all. Fact is, I’ve never been jealous. Have I been a little envious of the people who go here recently? Maybe. I mean, a few months ago I used to be just like them. New clothes, shoes, going to parties, not having a care in the world. Then my mom lost her awesome job at the hospital due to cuts, Dad left, and shit just went downhill. Now, I have to make sure my mom and I don’t get kicked out of the dump we live in or have anything shut off because of the lack of funds. I’ve never been jealous of a guy dating a girl I was interested in, though. Until Adaline, and I swear this is going to be a problem. It’s already cost me my childhood home. I can’t afford to lose any more.

My fingernails dig into my palm as my hands ball into fists at my sides while I watch Adaline tip back her head and laugh. I need to get a grip. I’m losing it. This shouldn’t bother me. In fact, I shouldn’t even give a shit that they’re hanging out. Adaline and I can’t be anything.

Fine Line by A.D. Justice

Title: Fine Line
Series: Crossing Lines #1
Author: A.D. Justice
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: March 10, 2019

Blurb

Lines are for crossing. Rules are for breaking.

I only wanted a cup of coffee. Alone.

It was a simple request, right? Just stroll into the coffee shop on the corner,
grab my usual cup of liquid nitrogen, and walk back out.

All while minding my own business.

But I had to walk in at that exact moment. Not ten minutes earlier. Not ten
minutes later. Precisely when Savannah Fields needed someone to help her. When
no one except me had the courage to stand up for her.

After the incident, she looked at me like I was her hero.

But I’m no hero.

I don’t even know who or what I am anymore.

Who is Nick Tucker? A DEA agent? A criminal? Both? Neither?

The lines I crossed while undercover blurred my staunch sense of morality.

Then the auburn-haired beauty showed up at my apartment, begging for my help. I
couldn’t turn her away.

The more I lost myself in her, the more I found myself again.

Or so I thought.

Even a broken clock gets to be right twice a day.

There's a fine line between right and wrong, love and hate, heaven and hell.

The Red
Head

Growing up in foster care, I never had a family I could call my own. I’d
finally found my place in this world. The only problem, it was in the arms of
not one, but two men. Two distinctly different men I’d never be able to choose
between.

The Doctor
Finally, I’d found the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. We
were deeply in love. There was only one catch. She loved another, too. A
surprising compromise was thrown my way. We’d share her, in a committed
relationship. But, sharing wasn’t my style. Until, that was, I started to long
for him just as much as I did her.

The Fireman
My redhead seductress had laid claim to my heart, along with the good doctor.
He denied loving me but I would catch him watching me, with the same hunger in
his eyes as he had for the woman we loved. They are both mine, he just didn’t
know it yet.

Man of Matrimony by Thea Dawson

Title: Man of Matrimony
Series: The Gentlemen, Inc. Series
Author: Thea Dawson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 2, 2019

Liam McGuire.
Annoyingly laid back. Hopelessly unambitious.
Cocky, irreverent, impossible.
My polar opposite.

My husband.

All my life, I’ve been the golden girl. Ivy League, MBA, the youngest executive at my company. The world lay at my feet.

Then the company I put my heart and soul into collapsed in scandal.
My so-called friends have deserted me.
I’m left with mounting debts and a shattered reputation, in danger of losing everything.

When a handsome stranger proposes a helping hand, I jump at the chance. I know it’s crazy, but all I have to do is stay married to him until he gets his green card, and he’ll support me until I’m back on my feet.

It’s the perfect marriage of convenience … except for the inconvenient way I’m starting to fall for him.

Brianna Winter.
Aggravatingly organized. Perpetually prim.
Stuck-up. Straitlaced.
Sex on a stick with a candy coating of complete indifference.

My wife.

I thought it would be easy. One year of marriage, and I’d be able to stay in sunny California for the rest of my life.

But one kiss changed everything.

Now, living at close quarters with the beautiful Miss B—with that toned body, that perfect skin, and that brilliant mind—I’m slowly going insane.

The memory of that kiss plays out over and over again in my mind in a kind of carnal loop of lust, but she shows no sign that she feels even the slightest bit of heat between us.

I may not survive my marriage long enough to get divorced.

MAN OF MATRIMONY is a steamy, standalone romance with heat, humor, and a sexy Irish hero! Happy reading!

Liam
The snow queen melts against me, her supple body pressed against mine, her tongue slipping across my lips. She tastes like the world’s most expensive whiskey sour, sweet and lemony and out of my league, and … yeah, this is probably a mistake, with no one to blame but myself.
To say I’m attracted to her is an understatement. Living at close quarters with her, I’ve had my fill of chances to stare at that toned, disciplined body. God knows she’s beautiful enough.
But attraction? That’s nothing. Take a cold shower, go for a run, wank off if you need to. You don’t need to follow through with every bird that catches your eye.
This, though, is sliding into something else. Up until now, I’ve thought of Bree as rather like an expensive work of art: beautiful, but you wouldn’t touch it. But when she started to cry so suddenly, so out of character, looking sad, lost, so completely not her regular high-and-mighty, on-a-pedestal self, I suddenly felt a tug toward her that wasn’t just physical.
It was a need to see her happy again.
Coaxing a little smile out of her was worth the sacrifice in single malt—which, given it wasn’t my single malt, maybe wasn’t that much of a sacrifice. Still cost me a bit of pride, though.
Oh hell, it would have been worth it even if it were my whiskey and I’d had to pour the whole bottle down the drain to wash away some of the despair in her eyes.
Now her arms have somehow slid up around my neck and I’ve pulled her as close to me as I can, seated as we are on the couch. I slide one hand across her cheek and into her hair, astounded that anyone could have such soft skin. I probe her lips with my tongue, and they part to let me in.
I mean to say something that will slow this down, but now it’s her tongue that slips between my lips, stealing my words and most of my thoughts along with them. My arm, which is no longer taking orders from my brain but from parts much further south, snakes around her firm, slim waist and pulls her into my lap.
There’s fire beneath this ice.
