Blurb

Laney was a woman on
the run. Her ex-husband, who just happened to be a cop, had a penchant for
violence and, after Laney took their daughter and ran, he had a promise for
revenge. She'd made a new life with a new name and had plans to stay hidden
forever, but even the best laid plans go wrong… Forced to rush her daughter to
the hospital Laney's location is revealed.

Laney had vowed to never seek help from a man again, until Riser’s 200 pounds
of packed muscle made her his own personal mission. He vowed to protect her and
her daughter from her ex, but could she trust him with their lives when she'd
been burned so badly in the past?

Riser Malone was an
admitted adrenaline junkie whose distraction on a crucial mission last year had
resulted in complete failure of his objective: protect the girl. Unable to face
his failure, Riser accepted every mission put before him, but a lull in the
terrorist tempo left him with too much time on his hands back home. He needed a
distraction, and he needed it badly.

And that distraction showed up in the form of Laney and her daughter.

With an abusive ex bearing down on her, Riser saw his second chance at
redemption. And after one night with her, Riser knew his bachelorhood was over,
but if he ever had any hope for a relationship with Laney in the future, he'd
have to make sure her abusive ex-husband would never harm her again.

Title: Build: A Bad Boy Snowed In Romance

Series: Burns Brothers #1
Author: Gillian Archer
Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 29, 2019

Blurb

Welcome to
Bad@ss Builds where the motorcycles are as sexy as the brothers building them.

Austin Burns:

I thought she
wasn’t real the first time I saw her. To be fair I was a hungover mess when I
woke up and looked into her gorgeous eyes. After getting the second worst news
of my life—that my father would be paroled soon—I’d escaped to my buddy’s posh
cabin near Lake Tahoe. Now the maid with the gorgeous eyes is snowed in with
me, and I wonder if she might be a better distraction than the mountain of
booze I’d planned on drinking. She’s curvy in all the right places, and the
snow is falling faster.

Rachel
Tannenbaum:

As a single mom, I
don’t have time for men, especially irresponsible tattooed bad boys like my ex.
But Austin is hot. And sexy. And stuck here in the cabin with me. I can’t say
no to a fling with this bad boy, especially since Austin is so gorgeous and
awkwardly sweet.

One night becomes
two, and I don’t know if I can risk my heart—and my little boy’s—if Austin
wants it to become more when we get through the snow and back to reality.

Excerpt

I’d just straightened
up the pile of mats when a scraping sound caught my attention. Raising the
blinds, I looked out the window and saw Rachel standing in the middle of the
road, shovel in hand, pushing the snow into big piles. She’d got about ten feet
of road cleared in addition to her car.
Did she
really think she could plow the fucking road between here and the highway? It
was miles of road!
“Son of a
bitch.” I ran out of the room. Three steps later, I almost tripped over Blue in
the hallway. He’d taken up a post between me and the doorway, almost like he
couldn’t decide who he should be guarding. “Hey, boy. You okay?”
Blue sat up
with a whine and swung his head toward the front door.
“Yeah, I
think we gotta talk some sense in her. She can’t plow the fucking road all by
herself. Come on.” I grabbed my coat next to the door and pulled it on over my
naked chest. My shirt was balled up somewhere in Cole’s home gym. I shoved my
bare feet into my boots next to the door and half-assedly laced them up. Blue
whined next to me, urging me to hurry. I ripped open the door, and Blue bounded
out, with me close on his heels.
“What the
hell are you doing, woman!” I shouted before I met up with Rachel.
She glanced
at me then bent down to pet Blue. “What does it look like?”
“It looks
like you’re fucking insane. You do know there’s like five miles of road between
us and the highway, right? Are you planning on plowing the whole fucking thing
by hand?”
“I have to
do something!” Rachel waved an agitated hand as she stood back up to face me.
“I can’t just sit here and wait for someone to call or show up. I have people
waiting on me—my family is counting on me.”
“You think
I don’t know that? You think the same fucking thing isn’t happening to me right
now? I was supposed to be at work today too. Our scariest fucking client is
expecting a bike delivery today, and
I’m not gonna be there to stand between him and my brother. That’s my job!
That’s what I’ve done my whole life, and today I’m not gonna be there. I won’t
be there to protect him.”
Rachel
stared back at me with wide eyes, and her mouth opened and closed like a fish.
I sighed as
some of my anger melted away at Rachel’s bewilderment.
I hadn’t
meant to reveal so much. My shit was my shit. No one else needed to know what
was really going on in my life—least of all a piece of ass I’d hooked up with
for a night. I just had so much anger pent up. Booze hadn’t helped. Exercise
hadn’t helped. Really the only thing that’d worked was when I had her naked and
under me, but that’d never happen again.
I needed to
get my shit under control.
“Look, I’m
sorry, okay?” I reached over and gently took the snow shovel out of her hands.
“We all have shit—that’s all I’m saying. Well, that, and there’s no way either
of us is going to be able to dig our way out of this mess. There’s too much
road between us and the highway. It’s dangerous. We’re better off waiting until
the plow comes. I don’t know where the hell Cole’s business manager is, but he
still hasn’t called me back. If you’d like, I can call around and see if I can
find another service.”
Rachel bit
her lip and looked down the long, snow-covered road, her brow wrinkled.
“I’ll even
pay.”
Rachel’s
eyes shot to mine. “It’s not the money that’s bothering me. Well, it is, ‘cause
I can’t afford it, but I’m worried about the weather. There’s supposed to be
another system moving in this afternoon. If we can’t get out of here by noon, I
doubt you’ll find another outfit willing to come out in the middle of another
storm. We could be trapped here overnight again.”
I nodded
slowly. “I’ll get on the horn and see if we can get you home to your little boy
sooner than later.”
“Thank
you.”

(Vessel of Lost Souls, #1)
Publication date: January 28th 2019
Genres: Thriller, Urban Fantasy, Young Adult

TOO LATE TO SAVE HIS LIFE. NOT TOO LATE TO BRING HIM BACK.

Everyone thinks Marley tried to take her own life, that is, except Marley. After her mother sends her to a youth center for troubled teens, she starts hearing the voice of a boy who claims he was murdered and begins questioning her own sanity. The voice is Gavin, a seventeen-year-old boy who promises Marley he can help her find the truth about what happened the day she supposedly tried to kill herself—if she completes a resurrection spell in the next four days.

Upon discovering Gavin’s death in the newspaper, Marley realizes she’s not hallucinating, and that she has a chance to save Gavin’s soul and clear her name. The task seems simple: complete the spell, then she and Gavin are free, right? But a powerful, unseen force is determined to stop her, and soon Marley finds herself following clues from the universe to find ingredients for the ritual to save herself and her newfound friend, and most of all, to find the truth about what really happened that day.

Piggybacker is the first in Mikki Noble’s spell-binding Vessel of Lost Souls trilogy, and promises a thrilling mystery with powerful enemies, broken relationships, captivating magic, and two souls both caught up in a plot beyond any they could ever imagine.

SNEAK PEEKS:

“I didn’t mean to shoot you,” Taylor says, pointing toward the arm he’s holding. That’s when I see the gun is still in her hand. “Besides, it’s only a graze. Don’t be such a baby.” Taylor demands, “Just let her go and we can forget this all happened.”

That’s when the second man jumps in the driver’s seat and the engine turns over. “It’s too late for that. You two are coming with us now.”

“What do I have to do?”

Follow the signs, he tells me. I see his lips move in the mirror, though I still hear his voice echo in my head.

Gavin’s reflection disappears and somehow, I know he’s gone. This magic thing is extremely annoying.

Abruptly, I plummet through the air. Panic sets in and my already racing heart begins pumping like a steam engine about to explode as I slash through heavy fog and closer to the ground. Dead people can’t die, I remind myself. The fall cannot kill me.

Knowing this, I still flinch as the ground closes in. I shudder to think about what’s going to happen and close my eyes tight.

Splat.

EXCERPT:

Caitlyn

The driveway leading up to the Scottish Pack’s massive headquarters stretched almost half a mile. I rested my chin on my arms and stared out of the Alpha’s window on the second story, overlooking the circular section of the drive. The Pack’s castle came complete with its very own dungeon, but at least they weren’t keeping me in there anymore. The memory of Alistair’s craggy face haunted my dreams each time I closed my eyes. His brutal fists hammered away against my face, ribs, and stomach, until I could no longer sleep.

Tension radiated through my shoulders, and I balled my hands into fists. No, Alistair—Colin’s father—was dead. Dougal had protected me, and my brother, from that monster when I didn’t have the strength to fight back.

Not that it mattered.

Two days had passed since my brother’s sudden departure. Now Colin was on his own with no one to watch his back. How could he leave without saying anything to me? I flexed my fists again, welcoming the anger as it bubbled up in my chest and replaced my sadness.

The heavy weight of a man’s hand descended on my back. I twisted around, my knuckles connecting with a solid jaw lined with dark, coarse stubble. A familiar jaw. Shite.

Dougal stumbled back half a step, but then he planted his feet like a tree with strong roots, not budging any further. Sharp power flared outward from him before he squelched it, stretching the muscles in his jaw. A frown tugged at his lips, and the corners of his eyes creased, either in pain or displeasure.

“Dougal! I’m so sorry.” The sudden movement of punching him had shot a searing ache through my battered ribs again. The pain stole my breath away, but I tried to force it down. How could I have been so careless? If he’d been anyone else in the Pack, I would’ve caused World War III.

“Dinnae fash. The punch bloody well hurt, though. I didn’t realize you were so strong.” Dougal’s frown melted away as he pulled me closer and pressed a kiss to my forehead. “Seems like you’re recovering your strength.” His gaze drifted past me to the long gravel driveway of the estate. “How are you doing, love?”

The emotions I’d been stomping down now bubbled to the surface again. “I cannae believe Colin left me. He left before I even regained consciousness. How could he?” With anyone else, I wouldn’t show weakness, but I rested my forehead against Dougal’s chest, needing his touch and savoring his warmth. “I barely had time to talk with him, and when I did, it wasn’t a good time to ask how he was doing after the months he’d spent in that bloody research facility—or even to ask where he would go to heal…”

Tears welled in my eyes, but I held them back, refusing to cry. “I gave up so much—my job, my flat, my life—while trying to track him and bring him home. What if my sacrifices were all for naught?”

“Nae, they weren’t for naught, love.” Dougal kissed the top of my head. “I know you’re hurting. You have plenty of reasons to be, but the man who came back wasn’t the same one who left for the United States.” He lifted my chin, forcing me to see the sincerity in his clear blue eyes. “Whatever those scientists did affected him in ways neither of us will probably ever know. Waiting at the window won’t make him return any sooner.” He wrapped his arms around me and gently pulled me against his chest again. “Let me draw you a bath. Remember, I’m here if you need to talk.”

He was right, even if I didn’t want to admit it. Waiting for Colin’s return wouldn’t help, but what else could I do? “I know, but that doesn’t make this any easier for me. He’s my younger brother. I feel helpless that I cannae be there for him…again.” A heavy ache settled on my heart, and I pulled away hating the awkward emotions crushing me. “Sorry.”

Dougal turned away from me and stared out of the window again. His jaw clenched and unclenched, as if he were trying hard to hold in his words. A lot was going on in his life too, and yet he was making a strong effort to support me through my problems. Things had become increasingly strained between him and his Pack since my arrival and Duncan and Alistair’s subsequent deaths. He didn’t talk about what he faced, and I didn’t want to pressure him.

After a few moments of silence, he released a sigh and turned back toward me. “You’ve done what you could for him, lass.” The ghost of a grin spread across his lips. “Do you still want the bath?”

Excerpt

Suddenly,
something touches my shoulder, and I freak out.
I shriek,
but my voice is blocked by a hand covering my mouth.
Adrenaline
fills my veins, panic bubbling to the surface. I try to spin on my chair, but
can’t, because someone’s holding me down firmly. Strong arms with a scent that
reminds me of … soot.
“It’s me,
don’t scream,” he whispers.
It’s
Brandon.
He leans
back and I immediately stand up and turn to face him. “Brandon! Jesus.”
“Sorry.
Didn’t wanna scare you,” he says, a little too loud.
I close my
eyes and let out a sigh. “God, could you’ve been anymore creepy?”
“I could …
If I wanted to,” he says, raising one brow, mocking me.
I narrow my
eyes, but my body remains rigid. Tense. It’s like my brain has already decided
for me that I can’t trust him. At least, not after what happened at the
bonfire. “What are you doing here?” I whisper, still upset that he jumped on me
like that. And even though he says I shouldn’t be scared, my skin still
prickles where he touched me.
“I just
wanted to see you, that’s all,” he says with a way too cocky voice.
“Shh …” I
say. “Quiet. We’re close to the farmhouse.”
He shrugs.
“So?”
“I don’t
want my dad to hear us. He’s in there with my brothers.”
“Ahh …” He
takes a step towards me. “You’re afraid he’ll find us here … together?”
“Duh. You
shouldn’t be here,” I say, leaning back, as if I instinctively know not to let
him get close. I don’t know why, but … it feels different. Like I’m playing
with fire and I don’t wanna get burned.
When he
tries to caress my cheek, I turn my face slightly. He pauses. “Are you … afraid
of me?”
Maybe. I
don’t know the answer. I feel like I should. What he did was wrong. Horrible.
But I know
why he did it.
After all
those years of Derek tormenting Brandon, he was bound to explode. But I never
expected it to be this uncontrollable, this explosive. This … dangerous.
“Should I
be?” I ask, licking my lips.
The
half-smile that forms on his face has my heart skipping a beat. Fuck. I
shouldn’t. I really shouldn’t. Not when he’s like this … so volatile and
aggressive … and sexy.
“I can’t
answer that for you,” he says after a while. He places his hands on the
workbench, trapping me inside. “I don’t want you to be, though.”
“That’s
easy for you to say …” I whisper, looking down at my feet. Jesus. Why am I such
a pussy when it comes to him? I should speak up, for fuck’s sake. Stop being a
fucking whimpering virgin who can’t handle a little touchy feely.
“Hey …” He
tips up my chin with one finger. “I’m not going to hurt you, I promise.”
I nod
softly, as if he just asked me whether or not I believe him. I’m not even sure
I do. I just know I want to, for my sake … and for his.
“But … what
happened at the bonfire …” I mutter.
I don’t
know how to begin my sentence or how to end it. Just like I don’t know where we
began and where we should end.
Maybe now.
Maybe
never.
Shit.
Why do I
feel this way around him?
Why is it
that when a guy loses control, I want him even more?
Am I that
obsessed with bad boys? Jesus, help me.
