I can’t get her out of my head.

I tried to forget about her. I tried to move on. But the longer we’re apart the more I realize forgetting Evelyn is just not an option for me.

What we shared—the passion, the connection—it still burns inside my soul, and no amount of time or distance can extinguish that. I want her back. I want her by my side, and I don’t give a shit about the risks or consequences.

I’m going to find her, and I’m going to make her realize that there’s just one place in this entire goddamn world she needs to be…and that’s with me.

L.B. Reyes, lover of all things romance and professional procrastinator, was born and raised somewhere in the large state of Texas. She spends most of her time listening to music that bring her characters to life, or dancing to it when she needs to destress. When she's not writing, she's thinking about how to torture her characters or give them the happy ending they deserve. A mother, student and now author, L.B. Reyes is always busy, but makes sure to make time for her family. She is a firm believer that all obstacles may be overcome and so she spends her days encouraging others to follow their dreams, no matter how far away they seem.

No Cowboys No Angels The Mystery Angel Romances Book 1 by Petie McCarty

No
Cowboys No Angels
The
Mystery Angel Romances Book 1
by
Petie McCarty
Genre:
Romantic Suspense

Kellen
Brand's inheritance turns out to be a whopper—one dilapidated farm
in West Virginia and one guardian angel!

Since
Kellen is convinced no sane woman would choose to live in Riverside,
she vows to sell her farm and quick. Her handsome neighbor Luke
Kenyon must block the farm sale or risk exposure of his family's
secrets. While Kellen has located one potential buyer, she faces a
town full of objectors. Someone is trying to frighten her off, and
Luke is forced to step in and rescue her more than
once.

Unfortunately,
Kellen can't seem to stay out of trouble. She stumbles onto a
clandestine hazardous-waste-dumping operation next to her farm, and
she prays Luke has one more rescue up his sleeve. It's her only hope
of staying alive.

Unless
her mother really did leave her a guardian angel . .

Petie
spent a large part of her career working at Walt Disney World -- "The
Most Magical Place on Earth" -- where she enjoyed working in the
land of fairy tales by day and creating her own romantic fairy tales
by night, including her new series, The Cinderella Romances. She
eventually said good-bye to her "day" job to write her
stories full-time. These days Petie spends her time writing sequels
to her regency time travel series, Lords in Time, and her
cozy-mystery-with-a-dash-of-romantic-suspense series, the Mystery
Angel Romances.

Petie
shares her home on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee with her
horticulturist husband, a spoiled-rotten English Springer spaniel
addicted to pimento-stuffed green olives, and a noisy Nanday conure
named Sassy who made a cameo appearance in Angel to the Rescue.

Publisher: Holly Ryan⎮2018

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Series: The Slayer's Reverse Harem, Book 1

"Marry the devil...or die." That's the ultimatum Belle Harrison, vampire slayer, just received from a demon. Belle has only one response: To hell with him.

Turns out it's not that easy, though - apparently the devil doesn't know the meaning of the word no. Lucky for Belle, three pantie-melting vampires come to her aid. Three hot vampires she can't resist. Hey, we all have our vices. Hers just happen to have fangs.

She's going to need these three to help her thwart the devil's marriage proposal and defeat the terrifying dark force that wants her dead.

Holly Ryan is a pen name for a USA Today bestselling author who one day said, “Screw it. I’m gonna write books with some serious sizzle.” She’s fueled by wine, which is where the idea probably came from.

Narrator Bio

Melissa Schwairy is a full-time narrator vocal age 20-30 living in Denver, Colorado. She has focused her acting career on narrating literature, completing titles in YA, Urban Fantasy, Murder Mysteries, and Romance. She has a BS in Counseling and Mental Health, and she is licensed in Healthcare Administration and Nursing. She loves to sing and dance in the car, and spend time with her family at home in beautiful Colorado.

  • Tell us about the process of turning your book into an audiobook.
    • It was surprisingly easy! Belle, my vampire slayer, is snarky, witty, but also has a huge heart, so I knew I needed a narrator who could pull all of that off at once. Melissa Schwairy, whom I believe was my very first audition for this project, completely nailed it. When I listened to her, I sat on the edge of my seat at the tense moments, even though I knew what was going to happen, and I laughed at her stellar comedic timing. She basically IS Belle!
  • Were there any real life inspirations behind your writing?
    • When I was in high school, some friends and I snuck into a graveyard on a foggy night. Nothing scary happened (darn it!), but I do remember the silence, the creepiness, especially when I saw a few tilted headstones. I wish I could remember where exactly, but I’d read that tilted headstones were a sign that a vampire had risen. It was definitely an experience that helped inspire this series.
  • Are you an audiobook listener? What about the audiobook format appeals to you?
    • I can only listen to audiobooks on long car trips, and I do better with them when I’m not driving. Other than that, I don’t listen to them, mostly because of my brain’s preference. I’m more visual than auditory, but if I had time, I bet I could train my brain to want to listen more. HA! My husband would probably appreciate that! ;)
  • If you had the power to time travel, would you use it? If yes, when and where would you go?
    • I would definitely time travel! I would probably go back to Victorian times just so I could wear those fancy dresses. I’m such a girl! I’d probably only last about five minutes in a corset though. I would love to chat with Franklin D. Roosevelt, Frederick Douglass, and Napoleon Bonaparte, and also find out what exactly happened to Amelia Earhart.
  • What do you say to those who view listening to audiobooks as “cheating” or as inferior to “real reading”?
    • I would tell them to go play in the street. Just kidding. Sort of. Closed-mindedness and an unwillingness to put yourself in other people’s shoes really sets my teeth on edge. We all have different lives, different ways of doing things, different preferences, and none of them are wrong.
  • How did you celebrate after finishing this novel?
    • I immediately started the next one! Oh, and wine. ;)
  • What gets you out of a writing slump? What about a reading slump?
    • As both an author and an editor, I can’t afford to let slumps happen. I try to power through them the best I can, usually with the help of cat snuggles, wine, and chocolate.
  • What's your favorite:
    1. Food - chocolate. I always order anything called Death by Chocolate in restaurants, and oddly, I’m still alive, but that would be the ultimate way to go.
    2. Song - the one that stops me in my tracks every time, no matter what, is “Ave Maria” by Franz Schubert.
    3. Book - Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon. I cried when I finished it and then immediately went back to page 1 to reread it.
    4. Television show - Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Shocking, I know!
    5. Movie - The Princess Bride. It’s perfection.
    6. Band - Foo Fighters. Oh, and Lunachicks! I saw them both in concert, and I fan-girled so hard.
    7. Sports team - Rock chalk, go KU!
    8. City - Denver. There are some nice people there.
  • What’s next for you?
    • A sexy dragon shifter reverse harem series, which will also be on audio! And after that, maybe a science fiction romance with aliens? And tentacles? Or wolf shifters? All of the above? I dunno.

Christmas in Prague by Rick Pryll

Psychological Romance
Date Published: November 24, 2018
Publisher: Foolishness Press

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

Christmas in Prague is the story of Joseph, a divorced American twenty-something living as an expat in Prague. He's obsessed with Karina, a Czech waitress-turned-supermodel. She's freshly back from a trip to Italy with her English teacher, and she's ready to give Joseph the attention for which he's been longing. Will his Christmas wish come true?

Excerpt

After soup, we have Buck’s vánočka, sweet bread with apricots and raisins that have been soaked in hot brandy for days. I am not a huge fan, but I have a taste to prove that I am game. Next comes the fried carp with bramborovy salat. As the dishes are being served, Avi tells a story, an earlier expat Christmas at Beth’s apartment, the one that Kamil took after she left.

“I walk in and there she is, Beth, on her knees. Dressed in a white plastic apron, dishwashing gloves and lab goggles. The dish washing gloves were purple. On the floor were a rubber mallet, various rusting knives with wooden handles, and a pair of yellow gardening shears laid out on newspaper. There was blood all over. She was digging out guts, clipping off fins and the tail. Bits of guts and fish and blood were everywhere. Splattered all over the white tile. It looks like a massacre. She stuffed the offal in a plastic bag. It said Kotva on it. She stood up - bag in one hand, carp head in the other. She slipped in the blood on the floor and caught herself. The head kept mouthing, looking down. Beth looked at me, my mouth hanging open. She said, ‘What?’ I told her I would help her clean up. It was hilarious.” The potato salad is very tasty, but the carp is pungent. It is cooked to perfection, there’s nothing that could have been done better, but it is just a dark and smelly fish. No getting around it. I eat a couple of bites, wash it down with beer and move on. Whew.

Brad speaks up. “Barbora, can you ask your babička why carp for Christmas? I know it is a tradition, but why?” Barbora smiles and leans toward her grandmother, translating.

Barbora answers, “She says it is for good luck. You know in Slovakia and Poland they have the same tradition. Buy a carp at the Christmas Market, and it becomes a family pet for a few days, living in the bathtub. Some people ask the fish monger to cut the filets right there on Old Town Square, but the real way to do it is to bring it home and butcher it yourself.”
