Sofa King Wrong by Madison Faye

Title: Sofa King Wrong
Author: Madison Faye
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 3, 2018

Blurb

Hard. Huge. Completely untamed.
He’s got the perfect tool to get the job done.
This off-limits brat is his duty to protect.
But forbidden fruit just tastes a whole lot sweeter

Life on the street taught me to fight to survive. Prison
taught me to endure. I spent years locked up like an animal for
protecting the ones I loved. Six damn years without the soft feel of a woman
under my rough hands.

Now I work for my buddy’s moving company, Sofa King Movers.
A job up in the Hollywood Hills seem like a piece of cake, until it turns out
I’m not there to move boxes. I’m there for her,

Alyssa Campo. Hollywood starlet, movie sensation, tabloid
drama queen. A barely legal wild-child with a reputation for being a class-A brat.
And they want me to be her fucking bodyguard.

She’s off-limits in every possible way – too tempting, too
famous, too way-too-fucking-young for me. But when the sassy-mouthed little
tease under my watch decides to flaunt my rules, she’s going to learn how firm
I can be with bad girls like her.

I know I should keep my distance, but once I’ve had a taste
of those forbidden lips and those tempting curves, there’ll be no keeping me
from her.

Alyssa’s mine to protect. And mine to claim.

She’s the forbidden fruit. But years behind bars has me hungry.

…And I’m gonna feast until the juice runs down my
chin.

My emotions had me so choked up I could barely swallow. I breathed deeply, unsure of what to say. So I acted instead. I took her in my arms and comforted her. Maybe I didn’t have the right words to speak, and maybe I couldn’t undo the past, but I had faith she would give me a chance to right my wrongs.

She had to.
She just had to.

MEET FAITH STARR

When I’m not managing my husband’s medical practice or taking care of things for one of my three kids, I love writing romance fiction.

There is absolutely nothing like getting into the minds of my characters, bringing them to life, and giving them a life of their own with all the emotions that go along with it. I am swept away, head over heels in love, with each and every alpha male I create and the confident women who steal their hearts.

Being a romantic at heart, with a bit of a dirty mind, I relish creating stories that touch upon readers’ heartstrings, provoke thought, and hopefully provide a bit of insight into some heavy topics.

Being married for over twenty-two years ─ holy cow, how time flies ─ I honestly believe in “Once Upon a Time” and “Happily Ever After” endings because I found mine. Aww, I know, so mushy. But that’s me, a softie with a big heart. A bit of a nut too.

Leather Car Seat Belt Adjuster Black, 2 Pack

I am in my car a lot and always wear a seat belt, it is the law after all. A lot of the time I feel like the seat belt is trying to choke me, and on long car rides my shoulder starts to hurt from the pressure of the seat belt. Not to mention my neck from the edge of the seat belt not only laying against my neck but also rubbing on my neck. I have bought the padded seat belt covers but they just seem to slip down the seat belt or eventually they make the choking sensation worse from the seat belt. My car does have the adjusters on the side of the car and no matter how high or low I set them it is still the same thing.

I was very excited to get to try these Leather Car Seat Belt Adjusters from HLFeng. These are not like the padded ones that go up on the seat belt. These actually go at the bottom where the seat belt goes over your lap and the shoulder belt comes upwards. You velcro this seat belt adjust there holding the 2 pieces of the belt together and move over towards the door of the car until the pressure is off of your neck. These are great for kids and adults and will work on any seat belt in the vehicle. They are made of leather and seem to be very high quality. I see these lasting for years. If they get dirty just wipe them off with a damp cloth. If the velcro gets to where it is not wanting to stick you can take a soft brush and rub off the link, hair and other accumulated debris.

I am very happy with these seat belt adjuster and wish I had of had them years ago.

Who could object to a flower festival?

Britta Johnston and her aunt Elin are delighted that their Portland floral boutique is part of the city’s Rose Festival, which draws thousands to the Pacific Northwest for dragon boat races, fireworks, and other attractions—capped off by a big parade. They’re building a float that’s sure to rock the judge’s boat . . . until a gang of angry protestors shows up. The group, who call themselves Dark Fusion, are decidedly not into flower power, and they want to take down the system . . . including the upcoming extravaganza.

Then their leader is strangled with a garland of violets—and Britta finds the body. With tensions running high and so much at stake, there are plenty of suspects, from the Grand Marshal to a longtime volunteer to a former Rose Queen. But before Britta and Elin can stem the violence, the case is going to get even more explosive . . .

Blomma’s Flower Tips:

Sensational Succulents—Succulents are a wonderful and hard-to-kill option for indoor displays and container gardens. Start with a shallow dish. Get creative. You can use everything from a traditional terra-cotta pot to a hollowed-out piece of wood, or a clear glass terrarium. Next fill three quarters of your container with potting soil. Then spread a thin layer of pea-sized gravel on the top. Blend the soil and gravel with your hands and add water. Mix thoroughly and begin arranging your plants. Position the largest plant on one side of the container. Cluster remaining plants based on size and shape. Finish by sprinkling more pea-gravel to cover any of the potting soil mix. Allow soil to dry out completely before watering again. Watering should be minimal. Elin and Britta use the guideline of watering succulents once a month in the fall and winter and once a week in the spring and summer.

Float Away—Britta got to try her hand at float decorating. Now you can take her techniques and use them to impress your guests at your next garden
party or add a fun temporary splash of color to your backyard or front porch. Here’s how. You don’t need any moving parts or something on the scale of
Blomma’s float. Simply upcycle an old piece of wood, pallet, door, or window frame. Sketch out a whimsical design with a pencil. It doesn’t have to be
perfect. In fact, free-form is best. Next, cut flowers from your garden or hit up your local farmers market for an assortment of stems. Use whatever you
have on hand—dried berries, twigs, leaves, and herbs. Challenge yourself to use only organic materials. With a paintbrush apply Elmer’s glue to sections
of your design. Then press flowers and organic material on by hand. Repeat the process until your design is filled in. Display on a deck, against a fence, or use as a backdrop for a party. Depending on outdoor temperatures and the type of flowers you use, your “float” should last a week or more.

Blomma’s Featured Wine and Flower Pairing—In honor of Rose Festival, Britta has hand-picked a lovely selection of Pacific Northwest rosés. Don’t be
fooled by their dreamy pink color. Nothing about these wines is cloyingly sweet. Oregon and Washington rosés are vibrant, dry wines with notes of nectarine, peach, strawberry, and herbs. These crisp, luscious wines make for a perfect alfresco glass. Britta recommends that you serve your rosé chilled and with a gorgeous vase of fresh-cut, single-stemmed, pale pink Aphrodite roses. The fragrant, delicate rose scent will enhance your wine-sipping experience.

Excerpt from The Christmas Ballet:

He smiled as he thought about the look on her face when he’d stroked her. Maybe she was more interested in him than she either believed or cared to be.
Then he thought of something. “One more thing, Laura,” he called out to her, and she stopped at the door and turned around.
“On the nineteenth, the law firm is hosting the annual Christmas party. It’s quite grand and lasts all evening long.”
“You want me to be sure to be available to babysit Maria,” Laura said.
“No. I want you to plan to come with me.”
“What?”
“Remember that beautiful, green, velvet dress we saw at Macy’s? I want you to get that dress, and the accessories to go with it, and attend the party with me.”
“Stefan, really. You know I don’t go to those types of events, and I don’t wear those kinds of clothes. I’m not comfortable with either of those things.”
“You need to get comfortable.” He smiled.
“This is not a part of a job for the nanny and teacher. It’s out of the range of the job description. You need to get Ginger to go with you. I’m not going.” She gave him a defiant look.
“Laura, I want to take you to this event. I’m not taking no for an answer. I will arrange for Rhonda to take you shopping to help you get what you need. You will charge all the purchases to a credit card I will give you that’s for your use only. This is the first of many social parties you will be attending.”
He watched her as she clenched her hands into fists and released them.
“Who do you think you will get to care for Maria on these…occasions?”
“Usually Lillian is available.”
“Stefan, it’s my job to care for Maria, not be your date to your parties. I don’t like being told what I will or won’t do. I don’t like social parties, and I don’t like wearing expensive clothes. It’s not me, and you’re not going to change me.”
“I don’t want to change you. I want you to attend an event by my side. It won’t hurt you to have some beautiful clothing to show your feminine side. I want the world to see the beauty I see. Be glad I want to show you off. Some men might decide they don’t want others to see what they see.”
“Flattery doesn’t work with me. You can tell me what to do as far as Maria is concerned, but my personal life is off limits to you.”
“That’s good to know. At least I know you won’t get carried away and escape my grasp by someone making flattering remarks to you. Your personal life interests me.”
“Stefan, you just don’t get it. I am not going to this party,” she said, enunciating each word slowly and carefully. “Besides, your mother would be horrified to see me walk in with you.” Her face hardened as she stared at him.
“Look at it this way—you’d be doing me a big favor.”
“How?” She raised an eyebrow.
“I’m not interested in the other women that come to this social party looking for an eligible bachelor. With you on my arm, it would send a clear message to all the others that I’m taken.”
“God, you’re impossible. Ginger is more than capable of providing you that kind of service.”
“I don’t want Ginger. You have the grace, quiet beauty, and finesse I want in a date, and I will not take no for an answer. After Maria’s recital, you and Rhonda will set a shopping date. And one more thing. When you get your hair done, I’d like you to wear it down.” He smiled at her.
“This is not going to happen.” She put her hands on her hips and glared at him.
“It will. I’ll just have Maria work on you.” He eyed her.
“What?”
Stefan grinned. “You heard me. You’d never turn down anything from Maria.”
“Grrrr.” She growled and stomped up the stairs.
He laced his hands and put them behind his head. Oh yeah, it’ll be a night she’ll never forget.
