by
Sixtus Z. Atabong

Sixtus’s
father had only one request of Sixtus—‘give back.’ And give
back he did.”
Edward
C. Benzel, MD, emeritus chairman of Neurosurgery, Cleveland Clinic

Born
into a poor West African family in the disease-stricken town of
Fontem, John N. Atabong embarked into the unknown in search of
hope.
He
was eleven, but he triumphed against all odds to give his children
the best care and education available. Eventually, he sacrificed his
most valuable possession, his son Sixtus, sending him to study in the
United States with nothing more than lessons learned from his days
working the farms and his father’s basic biblical teachings. Sixtus
Atabong's journey of temptations and challenges in the US gives rise
to a mission: to give back. He uses his gift to extend God’s
healing hands and unfailing love to the far corners of the earth
through sustainable health care infrastructures. Fulfilling his
father’s dream, Sixtus hopes that he too can leave the world a
better place than he found it.

Sixtus
Z. Atabong, PA-C, President and Founder of Purpose Medical Mission
(PMM) is a neurosurgery Physician Assistant. PMM is a nonprofit
organization focusing on developing sustainable healthcare
infrastructure and services in developing countries. It has helped
build clinics and hospitals in Cameroon, The Democratic Republic of
Congo, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. Sixtus believes in empowering
communities with the knowledge and tools to address the global threat
of health disparity and lack of basic education.

Sixtus
is the recipient of numerous local and national awards for his
leadership and humanitarian work, including the Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center Hall of Fame Award and the American Red Cross
Humanitarian of Year Award. In 2013, he was awarded the PA Service to
the Underserved Award by the American Academy of Physician
Assistants.
Sixtus
was born and raised in a small farming village in Muyuka
Sub-division, Cameroon, West Africa. He migrated to the United States
in 1995 where he faced many challenges, but eventually obtained a
Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and a
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. He uses his life
experiences and voice to motivate individuals on attaining their
God-given purpose. He speaks on issues such as, living a purposeful
life, realizing your American dream, financial independence, and
racial relations.
Sixtus'
goals in life have been achieved through faith and
self-determination. He enjoys traveling the world with his family and
learning about different cultures. He lives in Lubbock, Texas, with
his wife, Kyu Mee, and their two sons.

Genre:
Contemporary Romance

Aiden
is an alphahole and absolutely infuriating.

You're
going to effing love him!
A
bad boy, enemies-to-lovers, office, roommate romance.

I'm
Carly.
A
nice girl. A nice girl who has recently figured out that nice girls
get the shaft. So, I've decided to become Carly 2.0 and say buh-bye
Carly 1.0, the doormat.

There's
a problem, though. An alphahole is my new roommate and my CEO’s
son. He’s also my boss and the alphahole is gunning to ruin
me.
Alphahole:
A grade-A alpha male asshole.
The
epitome? Aiden Carmichael.

Aiden
wants to give me the shaft. In multiple ways, if you get my
drift.
Good
thing the new me has decided to fight back and if push comes to
shove, fight dirty.

I'm
Aiden. Alphahole.
Or
so the chick my father put in my corporate apartment and my
department at the office calls me. Whatever. She's got spunk. And a
great rack. She tries to come off as a badass, but I see right
through the act. If she's gonna tangle with me, she'll be the one to
get tied up in knots. It won't be me.
I
have no problem fighting and as far as I'm concerned, the dirtier the
better.

The Enigma Wraith by Breakfield and Burkey

Author: Charles V Breakfield, Roxanne E Burkey

Narrator: Derek Shoales

Series: The Enigma Series, Book 4

Publisher: Enigma Series LLC

Released: Mar. 19, 2018

Length: 10 hours 50 minutes

Genre: Science Fiction; Technothriller

The Enigma Wraith, the fourth book in the Enigma series, serves up yet another captivating techno-thriller racing with romance, humor, and possible catastrophe. When an Irish financial institution, a Brazilian hydroelectric plant, a NATO base, and a smart car traveling through the European countryside are each hacked by the same sinister force, the world is introduced to the first glimpse of the potential damage that the Ghost Code can inflict - on both a personal and an industrial level.

Created by a mysterious pair of cyber pirates known only as Mephisto and Callisto, this destructive code is nearly impossible to find and even harder to remove. And while their agenda appears to be a blackmail plot for financial gain, their true aims could be of a far more menacing and expansive nature.

In an intriguing game of digital cat and mouse, the R-Group's Jacob, Petra, and Quip find themselves pitted against their most nefarious enemies to date. Stretching their considerable talents to the max, they struggle to track down the source of the problem and craft a solution that can secure the world's technology infrastructure before it completely collapses.

What do we risk in our appetite for technology with no guardrails in place?

Breakfield is a renowned technology solutions architect with 25+ years of experience in security, hybrid data/telecom environments, and unified communications enjoys leveraging his professional skills in these contemporary TechnoThriller stories. His love of World War II history from multiple viewpoints, extensive world travel, and cultural exchanges are a part of his DNA. Charles’ love of wine tastings, cooking, and Harley riding has found ways into the nine books of The Enigma Series. Being the son of a military father allowed early exposure to various outposts, which has positively contributed to Charles contributions to many characters and the various character perspectives explored.
Burkey is a renowned customer experience professional, she is adept at initiating business solutions optimizing existing technology architecture to positively impact business outcomes. Her 25+ years in technology and business has allowed her to be a featured speaker on customer experience, subject matter expert, interviewer, instructor, and author of technology documents, as well as creator of the award winning stories within The Enigma Series. She recognized a few years ago, after several white papers and non-fictional technology books that writing fiction is a lot more fun, creative, and yet leverages relevant technology. As a child she helped to lead the other kids with exciting new adventures built on make believe characters which she brings to the stories in a grown up manner. Rox enjoys family, listening to people, any kind of travel, sewing, gourmet cooking, and imagining the possibilities.
Breakfield & Burkey – Combining their professional expertise, knowledge of the world from both business and personal travels, many characters whom have crossed their paths and are now a foundation for the 150+ characters which are a part of their series. They find it interesting to use aspects of today’s technology that people are actually incorporate into their daily lives. They will openly claim this experience and knowledge of people is a perfect way to create these adult good guy/bad guy stories. Relevant technology is combined with travel, romance, intrigue, mystery, and humor design for each book to be enjoyed alone or in sequence. Reviewers have positively compared Breakfield and Burkey to the works of Tom Clancy and Clive Custer which are some of their influencers.
The nine books currently in the series include The Enigma Factor, Rising, Ignite, Wraith, Stolen, Always, Gamers, Broker, and Dragon have received awards individually as a series, and audio books. They have also created some award winning short stories including one for The Enigma Chronicles focused on how one of the founding family was fractured due to the greed for information superiority.

Q& A WITH AUTHORS BREAKFIELD & BURKEY- PART ONE
  • What's your favorite:
    • Food-We each have different favorite foods, though we both like Chinese, salads, and sweet potato fries. And of course, wine.
    • Song-There are so many great songs. We both enjoy rock ‘n’ roll so Queen, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd are always high runners.
    • Book-War and Peace comes to mind as well as “Green Eggs and Ham”
    • Television show-Burkey doesn’t like TV shows. Breakfield is real fond of Game of Thrones
    • Movie-Burkey’s would be Live and Let Die. Breakfield’s would be The Wind and the Lion.
    • Band-Okay now we are back to Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Steve Miller Blues Band
    • Sports team-Neither of us are really into sports, but agree the competition at the Olympics is great.
    • City-Burkey likes New York City. Breakfield likes Istanbul.
  • Are any of those things referenced in appearance in your work?
    • Our books have scenes or events which take place all over the world. We have each traveled extensively so the various cities like Istanbul, São Paulo, Barcelona, and New York City do appear. Wine and good food are also highlighted especially if there is a local food to highlight.
  • What bits of advice would you give to aspiring authors?
    • Write if you wish and enjoy what you write. It is always easier to write about things you know. You will not get it right the first time, but you need to keep at it. Don’t let your friends read it as they will only tell you what you want to hear. It is always better to try and fail, than to fail to try. Everyone has a story.
  • Do you have any tips for authors going through the process of turning their books into audiobooks?
    • Research is important. Take a look at various groups which take about the pros and cons of audiobooks. Invest wisely as it is an expensive endeavor. Many folks like to tell their own story which is great if you have a recording studio available and have a voice actor inside of you. Listen to a few books to help understand the voice you want to tell our story. ACX has some great tools. AudioBookReviewer.com is one avenue to look at. Richard Rieman (AudioBook Revolution) and Jocqueline M Protho (The Audio Flow Podcast). Another tip might be to read Richard’s book, The Authors Guide to Audio Book Creation.
  • What’s next for you?
    • We want to have the rest of the series, Books 6-10, in audio book format, and we are just starting to form the plans for Book 11.

Monster Mash Countdown Blitz Day 3 - Fiona Ingram

I am a children’s author, but up until a few years ago, I was a journalist and editor. Something rather unexpected sparked my new career as an author—a family trip to Egypt with my mother and two young nephews. We had a great time and I thought I’d write them a short story as a different kind of souvenir…. Well, one book and a planned book series later, I had changed careers. I have now published Book 3 (The Temple of the Crystal Timekeeper) in my MG adventure series Chronicles of the Stone, with many awards for the first book, The Secret of the Sacred Scarab, and a few for Book 2, The Search for the Stone of Excalibur, and one already for Book 3! I also teach online novel writing for aspiring authors and I find that very satisfying. Relaxation time finds me enjoying something creative or artistic, music, books, theatre or ballet. I love doing research for my book series. I love animals and have written two animal rescue stories. I have two adorable (naughty) little dogs called Chloe and Pumpkin, and a beautiful black cat called Bertie.

A modern day adventure as our protagonists search for Excalibur and the treasures it holds! This is a must-read for Middle Graders keen on action, adventure, and Arthurian stories!

Continuing the adventure that began in Egypt a few months prior in The Secret of the Sacred Scarab, cousins Adam and Justin Sinclair are hot on the trail of the second Stone of Power, one of seven ancient stones lost centuries ago. This stone might be embedded in the hilt of a newly discovered sword that archeologists believe belonged to King Arthur: Excalibur.

However, their long-standing enemy, Dr. Khalid, is following them as they travel to Scotland to investigate an old castle. Little do they know there is another deadly force, the Eaters of Poison, who have their own mission to complete. Time is running out as the confluence of the planets draws closer.

Can Justin and Adam find the second Stone of Power and survive? And why did Aunt Isabel send a girl with them? Join Justin and Adam as they search not only for the second Stone of Power, but also for the Scroll of the Ancients, a mysterious document that holds important clues to the Seven Stones of Power.

As their adventure unfolds, they learn many things and face dangers that make even their perils in Egypt look tame. And how annoying for them that their tag-along companion, Kim, seems to have such good ideas when they are stumped.

Book extras include some historical background on King Arthur, the Dark Ages, warfare and weaponry during Arthur's time, and details on Excalibur. A fascinating peek into the life and times of the real King Arthur, perfect for young time travelers and budding archaeologists. For coloring-in enthusiasts, ten original black and white illustrations including 2 maps make for more enjoyment!

Top Ten List:

My Top Ten (in no particular order):
1.     Travel – I have been fortunate enough to visit many countries but there are still more on my list.

2.     Animals – I love animals and wish I had tons of money to donate to many of the causes I read about. One day, I will!

3.     Movies – I LOVE movies. Detective, thrillers, animal feel goods, historical series, adventure, action, marvel character movies, I love it!

4.     Books – I LOVE books, of course, and still have many of my old childhood favourites inherited from my parents and grandparents.

5.     Music – listening to music, mainly classical and movie themes, is very relaxing.

6.     Theatre and ballet – would you believe it I started out studying drama at university, went to drama school in London and mime school in Paris, came back home and ended up in writing and publishing.

7.     Writing – not just writing middle grade adventures though. I have an alter ego named Arabella Sheraton who writes Regency romances and has actually written more books than I have. Arabella is the proud author of eight books so far. Do I have a problem wearing two hats? Not at all. I love jumping into a historical fiction romance and having fun.

8.     Antiques and collectibles – I have inherited so many beautiful antiques (furniture and collectibles) but that hasn’t stopped me browsing flea markets and antique shops to enjoy the beautiful items of yesteryear and sometimes buy.

9.     Friends/family – getting together with good friends is something that can’t be beaten. I love having friends/family over and making a great dinner for us to enjoy.

10.Giving talks on child literacy – I didn’t start off as an expert on child literacy, but after I fostered and later adopted my daughter Mabel (a disadvantaged young African girl) I had to learn pretty quickly because she came to me just about illiterate at age eleven. From my experiences in teaching Mabel to read, I then was asked to address many institutions and groups on the topic. I enjoy helping parents and teachers to get kids to love reading.

Book One of The BreakThrough
Sci-Fi / Fantasy
Date Published: July 29, 2018

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

The time of the uniborg was foretold on a distant planet.

So, what does it have to do Max Dedge, loose wheel and occasional detective?

This is just the start of the galactic event known as The BreakThrough, an event that could erase human existence, an event that could spell doom for planet Earth and possibly for history itself. It’s also an event that Max Dedge is blissfully unaware of at the moment.

And that’s a good thing. Because Max Dedge is about to find himself shot at on an alien world, fried by magic in Mexico, investigating corporate underhandedness in New Jersey, following leads on a vanished Rabbi in France, and being chased by certain death from one world to another and in between. At his side, the wizard Jracilla who has trained all her life for this day, thief and nemesis Arturo Delgado who is forever up to no good, and Sylvester… a very special phone.

Max Dedge in The Time of The Uniborg combines a unique fantasy experience with a mystery that binds two worlds and beyond, setting the stage for the epic adventure of The BreakThrough. The BreakThrough is set against a dynamically changing universe filled with characters who will helm their own titles.

Max Dedge in The Time of The Uniborg is just the first step into a universe of magic and time travel, rogues and wizards, space jalopies and portals to other worlds, taking you to the precipice of what you thought science fiction and fantasy could be and then throwing you over the side.

Excerpt
Later, Max lay in the dark, in the most comfortable bed in the shittiest little motel that still had two rooms in Las Cruces. The motel sat on a lot with an abandoned Carl’s Jr. and a burned-out gas station, but none of that had mattered. Max had been falling asleep at the wheel and knew he’d never make it as far as El Paso. After a large dinner of chili verde, beans, rice, and enough chips and salsa to choke a mariachi band, Max had wanted nothing more than to stop and sleep. Thanks to Sylvester, he did.

Max rested peacefully, digesting his huge dinner, waking only when the alarm on his Velocity 3200 rang loudly. He turned it off, wishing for a snooze button (but he had disabled that feature after hitting it about a hundred too many times). He looked around the darkened room and asked, “What the hell time is it?”

Sylvester replied, “My apologies, sir. The time is 4:17am.”

Max thought for a moment. “I didn’t set the alarm for 4:17am, Sylvester.”

“No, sir,” Sylvester replied. “You did, however, ask me to notify you should I find any connection between Chambéry and your current case.”

Max knew that Sylvester would have been working on that problem around the clock. With Sylvester’s processing speed, that was like putting an army of college interns onto a case of beer. Telling Sylvester to let him know when he found something, without specifying when that was appropriate, was Max’s fault.

Max sank back into the soft, sinking mattress and sighed. “Okay, Sylvester. What did you find?”

“There is some historical evidence, sir, that the Tretonians may be distantly related to the people of Chambéry,” Sylvester told him.

And Max’s eyes opened in the dark. He’d been hoping for a connection to the bombs in San Francisco, to the gun in Leodinym, to the clock in Pentress, but…“Sylvester? What the hell are you talking about?”

Sylvester replied with an understanding, “The story is rather complicated, sir. If you would prefer, I can tell you in the morning.”

Max wouldn’t hear of it. “You’re not going to tell me you found Tretonians in France and not explain it,” he growled.

Sylvester hesitated. “That isn’t exactly what I was reporting, sir.”

Max practically jumped from the bed. “Just tell me the story!”
