Resistance Cockiest Red Planet Trilogy Book 1 by A.S. McGowan

Resistance
Cockiest
Red Planet Trilogy Book 1
by
A.S. McGowan

Genre:
SciFi

What
would you do if the laws allowed anyone with money to Trademark an
everyday word? Or the copyrighting of a name, so no one could ever
use that name again?

Over
a hundred years ago, Earth was dying. A few rich men and women banned
together to create a kingdom on Mars. They hand picked the people who
would join them in this new kingdom. Then they brought their arrogant
beliefs and made them laws. The Trademark Commission was established
to allow anyone who could afford it, the ability to trademark any
common word. The laws stated that once a word was trademarked no one
could speak that word again. The Naming Commission ensures that all
names are copyrighted and no one uses another person's copyrighted
name. Fines and even prison time are given to those who violate the
trademark and copyright laws.

Kathryn
5.0 was pregnant with her first child when the word 'baby' is
trademarked. Forced to refer to her baby as "little human"
she is tired of the 100 year old laws. Reaching out to friends, she
works to create a resistance. Together they fight against the
trademark and copyright laws. Battle lines are drawn and it is family
against family. Those who resist the laws are branded "Bullies"
while those who support the ancient laws wave the "Victim"
banner.

When They Came by Kody Boye

When
They Came
by
Kody Boye

Genre:
YA SciFi, Horror

I
was never afraid of monsters—at least, not until They came: the
visitors from outer space.

Now
They're in our skies, on our streets, always watching, forever
waiting.

At
seventeen, I'm just about to graduate from the Juvenile Education
System and declare my career of choice. The Midnight Guard—who
protect our community from the vicious things that lie outside our
walls—calls to me.

It’s
hard, dangerous work, with grueling hours that offer little sleep,
but it’s the one thing I know will help make a difference in our
ever-changing world.

Excerpt 2:

It happened slowly, with the sun gradually setting, the light dimming, the darkness encroaching upon the world like a creeping monster making its way from the most treacherous depths. When it finally descended upon us, I pulled in a breath—realizing it was the first time I had been outside after dark in years.
It wasn’t long before I began to see Them—appearing on the horizon like fireflies. Winking into existence from seemingly nowhere, Their countenances were almost hidden but for Their silhouettes made visible by the moon. They walked limp-wristed, Their sickly claws poised like knives and Their gazes set on the people They couldn’t see.
They knew we were there. That much I was sure of. But what They were waiting for I couldn’t be sure.
I wanted desperately to ask Xio if she knew—for a moment of clarity to be shone upon an utmost spell of darkness—but knew I couldn’t.
Instead, I watched.
And stared.
And waited.
Minutes passed by slowly, the first hour like a ticking bomb waiting to go off at any moment. I heard an owl cry out in the distance and watched as the Coyotes tilted Their heads simultaneously to acknowledge the sound, then did the same to return Their focus to the walled apartment complex.
I didn’t know much about Them, why They did what They did or what Their true purpose was beyond scouting the world for potential Harvests. Rarely had They engaged with humanity, and so far as I knew, They’d never hurt anyone. But just because They hadn’t didn’t mean They couldn’t. And judging by the size of Their claws, They could do much more than just hurt.
I reached forward and pressed a hand to Xio’s shoulder as I caught sight of one of the creatures making its way toward the walls, unsure what to do or how to respond beyond warning her with a simple touch. She nodded and lifted a finger to her lips, raising a hand to sign toward one of our companions down the line.
A gun was raised.
A bullet was fired.
The creature fell a moment later.
The others—standing sentinel in the darkness—careened Their heads to face the source of the gunshot, but did not move. Rather, They stared with unwavering eyes, as if daring the rest of the Guard to open fire.

Born
and raised in Southeastern Idaho, Kody Boye began his writing career

age of fourteen. Published nearly three-dozen times before going
independent at eighteen, Boye has authored numerous works—including
the short story collection Amorous Things, the novella The Diary of
Dakota Hammell, the zombie novel Sunrise and the epic fantasy series
The Brotherhood Saga.

Then a secret from her past comes forward and challenges their love to the max. Can love and protect Sofia in spite of what he has learned? And with Tigger looming, can Sofia and Wheelie get their happily ever after?

The Insurgents MC series are standalone romance novels. This is Wheelie’s story. This book contains violence, abuse, strong language, and steamy/graphic sexual scenes. It describes the life and actions of an outlaw motorcycle club. HEA. No cliffhangers. 18+.

“Hi, Sofia,” Wheelie said as he leaned against the wall, his eyes raking boldly over her body. “You’re looking good.”
Tingles skittered down her back. “Hi, and … uh, thanks.” She glanced down the hall.
   “Tigger’s preoccupied with Banger’s Harley.”
Sofia nervously giggled as she played with her purse strap. “He’s still talking about getting a new one.”
   “How’ve you been?”
   “Good. You?”
   “Is he treating you okay?”
She looked down at the floor. “It’s been fine, especially since Banger made the family outings mandatory. For me, that’s helped a lot.” Sofia wrapped the purse strap around her wrist.
   “Am I making you nervous?”
“No. Why?” Sofia’s heart fluttered in her throat as Wheelie’s hand reached out and pulled the strap from her grip. Goosebumps sped across her skin from his touch.
“I’ve missed you,” he said, leaning back against the wall again.
“Then why have you been avoiding me?” Sofia shook her head. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked you that. I know why.”
“Do you?” He reached out and laced his fingers through hers.
“I have to go.” Sofia pulled away. “Tigger will come looking for me.”
Wheelie tugged her to him and tilted her head back then pressed his lips gently on hers. “I really have missed you,” he said against her mouth. “More than you can fuckin’ imagine.” Then he pushed her back at arm’s length and walked down the hall.
Sofia watched him disappear into the room as she touched her lips where his kiss still lingered. This thing that was going on between them was dangerous, but at that moment, she didn’t care. Wheelie had captured her attention and she couldn’t help but gravitate toward him. He made her feel like a desirable woman again.

How can I just walk away? She ran her hand over her sweaty face. How can I not? Wheelie was the magnet pulling her to him, and she was tired of resisting. She wanted him more than anything in her life.

Chiah Wilder writes about rough, sexy men who know how to treat their women.

Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.

Her love of reading has always been center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her books. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, romances with tough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.

Who wields the power behind the Wild Court?
After months of dealing with gods and monsters in New York, Karina and Robert return to their cottage in Scotland. Chris makes the move as well to start fresh with his girlfriend, Anya—but when they arrive Anya isn’t there. He tracks her down at the pub where her mother, Beira, works, and finds out that Beria’s been holding a grudge against his family for the past few hundred years. Since Beira’s the Cailleach Bheur— the Celtic Queen of Winter—her grudges are a rather big deal.
While Chris deals with Beira, Karina and Robert learn that when Robert was freed from the Minster’s Pine Karina inadvertently left a portal to Elphame open. Now Doon Hill is covered in fairies who are organizing themselves into a new court free of Seelie rule, akin to the Wild Fae of old. What’s worse, Karina’s long-lost uncle appears to be organizing this new court.
Karina closes the door to Elphame, but that only angers the unseen powers behind the fledgling Wild Court, forcing her and Robert to forge alliances with those who’d been their enemies not so long ago. Who can Karina and her gallowglass trust, and who is only out to deceive them?

Author Bio:
Jennifer Allis Provost writes books about faeries, orcs and elves. Zombies too. She grew up in the wilds of Western Massachusetts and had read every book in the local library by age twelve. (It was a small library). An early love of mythology and folklore led to her epic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Parthalan, and her day job as a cubicle monkey helped shape her urban fantasy, Copper Girl. When she’s not writing about things that go bump in the night (and sometimes during the day) she’s working on her MFA in Creative Nonfiction.
