“... this is a love story that will have you completely bewitched from beginning to end” ~ Amazon Review (Autumn)

She never should have come here. Twice a week, Lily Moore comes to work for me, stealing my breath with her light and beauty and sweetness. She doesn't know the dangerous path she's on. All she knows is that I am a reclusive artist living on a crumbling estate. That I am scarred, broken by life. A beast . . .

Lily ignites a hunger unlike anything I've known, one that could shatter the isolated world I live in. Even as I see the same longing for me in her oh-so-blue eyes, I know she belongs to another---one who does not deserve her. But it's just a matter of time before the tension between us breaks. For this beast will have what he desires. To hell with the consequences. This is my world . . . and I will claim my beauty.

Book Description:

In a world divided between those who are talented and those who aren’t, Vici is a city governed by an egotistical Praetor driven by his hatred for the gifted individuals—the Tallents—who he considers a plague. Tallents are forced into the shadows, for fear that they will be caught and executed.

An explosion rocks the city to its very foundation; the sole survivor a young woman with no memories of her past. Her only tie to her previous life is a silver necklace with the name Asylia inscribed. Risen from the ashes, she pieces herself together while taking control of her emerging fire talent. She must be careful; one mistake and she will end up like all the other Tallents who have faced the Praetor’s wrath.

Harbored by a mysterious group called Revival, the young woman discovers that the people of Vici are disappearing at an alarming rate. Together with her new friends, she must rally against the Praetor’s tyranny, racing to free the city in hopes that she isn’t too late to bring peace to this world in turmoil.

Excerpt:

A rustling chain
nearby; my body feels weak and heavy as the darkness surrounds me. Cold
numbness fills my body. The razor-sharp wind cascades past my face. A
shattering noise wakes me up to the icy wind whipping across my body. The
current turns me over and over as if I’m a mere plaything for the air around
me. My eyes spring open and struggle against the oncoming current. I am high in
the air above the city. Beneath me, bright lights of buildings stretch as far
as I can see. I panic as I fall faster and faster toward the ground.
“Aaaaaaahhhhhh!”
A bright light
emanates from behind me and lights up the night sky as the pulse of power fuels
an explosion above me. I twist and turn as I rocket toward the ground.
Something is attached to me and squirming to get out of my reach. Got to hold
on; got to hold on just a little longer. A black, crumpled mass tears from my
body, its claws ripping at my flesh as it disappears above me. My body rocks from
it, picking up pace as my arms flail around, helpless against the downward pull
of gravity. Beneath me, I recognize the building as the one they had shown when
Praetor Fraus delivered his announcement. It isn’t how I remembered seeing it
though. When I last saw it, it was charred and broken, but this building looks
pristine. The city fills my vision as I soar closer and closer. Brilliant
glistening buildings formed almost a perfect circle: the edge of the city
outlined by crystalline magenta walls.

A mangled voice
comes from behind me, but the wind makes it hard to make out what it is saying.
I see through the glass ceiling of the building and I try to change my path,
but I burst through the glass as fire surrounds me.

About the Author:

Angela lives in the small capital of Delaware. An avid gamer and superhero fan, she spends most of her free time playing video games. With her work, she travels for hours at a time and that’s where she discovered her love for audiobooks. Angela would get wrapped up in the story, and the fantasy that came alive all around her made the miles fly by. After being inspired by Susan Ilene’s Sensor series, she was motivated to write her first book. Angela dreamed about the events in the books for weeks before she finally started writing them down. Rebirth is Angela’s debut novel, but first of many in a series.

Interview with  A.J. Wharton

Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
For the most part I feel as though I’m in control but every now and again, the characters really come alive and almost write themselves. Especially Asylia, the combination of her naivety, thoughtfulness, and raw power make for an interesting character.

Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
Writing this book mentally I couldn’t get the idea onto paper fast enough. The plot, the characters, the world they are all so alive and captivating. I like to keep my audience guessing while they are on the edge of the seat waiting for the next reveal. The main character Asylia is unlike any you have ever seen before I guarantee it.

Have you written any other books that are not published?
Not yet, Rebirth is my very first book. I am still working on the sequel and prequel, but nothing concrete yet.

Pen or type writer or computer?
When I was younger I’d write with pen and paper. With the amount of thoughts that are scratched out, writing on a computer is much cheaper now.

Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Sure thing. I’d like to say to anyone who has ever read my Rebirth, or even thought about reading it, that I appreciate it. I love writing, the characters, the plot it’s all so dynamic and enthralling. Just thinking about having someone enjoying my work means so much to me. So, thank you everyone.

Tagline: How far will you go to be with the one you love?

Book Description:

We all have a choice in life. Sebastian and I made our choice—to be together.

The Shadow Lands became our sanctuary after everything we'd sacrificed. Our desire for one another only deepened as time passed. We'd broken Coven Laws, defied the human government, and put our families at risk to pursue our passion. The Courting Moon bonded us on that night, sealing our fate.

Nevertheless, our work is far from complete. With the Coven searching everywhere to find us it's only a matter of time before death befalls those we love. We are left with no other choice, but to finish what my father died trying to accomplish. To reestablish the Alliance Sanctuary, rebuild the Kingdom of Dragoius, and bring an end to the Coven of Vampyre's tyrannical rule.

The most powerful Vampyre in all the lands, Sebastian's father, the Count of Orias has vowed to stop at nothing until we are found, and our bond is broken. We're racing against time and it all hinges on discovering the Coven's one secret—

Why romantic love is forbidden…

Excerpt:

He stands there
looking upon her radiant beauty, unable to form words. She’s so luxurious to
him; he still can’t believe he’s found someone like her to love him
unconditionally. She exits the shower, bright pink hair soaking wet. He becomes
aroused yet fades into the background. He must fight off the temptation;
otherwise, his plans will lie in ruins. He isn’t supposed to be here—not at
this moment.
For months he
tried and failed to express the passion burning within him in the form of
words, but those words never came to fruition. Like a sly snake, he went into
their room and placed a note on the bed. Now, only now, is he able to tell her
the depths of his unending love for her.
Not just the
sexual, but the emotional and spiritual as well—something no Vampyre or human
could ever understand in a world built on emotional suppression. He exits the
room just as she approaches. Slowly, he closes the door and goes back to fixing
the steps that caused them to tumble into the bunker where they now dwell.
They’ve been trapped in the bunker for three days, and while everything they
need is provided for them, they still would like to have an exit readily
available.
The door creaks.
“Sebastian, is
that you?” she calls out.
She looks
around, but seeing no one, she wraps one towel around her head and one over her
body before closing the shower doors. As glaring as the sun beyond the Shadow
Lands, the note is there when she nears the bed.
“I can’t believe
this man,” she says with a bright smile. She tightens the towel around her body
and sits on the bed, taking the note in her hands.
The words “From
Me to You” are written across the front. She unfolds the note carefully so as
not to tear any part of it. That’s when she notices the Courting Moon’s glow as
it shimmers on her skin. A flush of emotion overcomes her heart. They are safe
from the Coven, from Daven, from the Council, from anyone looking to do them
harm. Now is the time to enjoy each other, to learn more about the emotions
they’re experiencing. She finishes unfolding the note and reads the delicate
words Sebastian has written for her.
Kyra, my love,
my everything,
Space and time
have no validity when we are together. The nights I have stayed awake wondering
how I could be blessed with such an angel are innumerable. You, Kyra, are my
heart . . . if that’s what you wish to call it. Love itself is a word that
couldn’t possibly hold bearing on what I feel for you. What we have is so much
more than that—I can’t explain it. All I do know is the connection we have will
last longer than anything in this world. As bright as the moon shines in the
night, I will love you, never fail you, always be there for you, give my life
for you, and live for you. Whatever this journey may bring, just know that I,
Sebastian of Orias, am within you every moment until my immortality gives way.
I love you, Kyra—always.
Holding her hand
to her face, she tries to keep tears from ruining the note.
“Kyra,” says
Sebastian, holding a collection of pink roses. “Did you read it?”
She removes the
towel on her head and places the note on the nightstand near their bed. “Yes,
it’s beautiful.”
Sebastian takes
a single rose from the bouquet he’s holding and places the bud of it in her
hair.
“No, Kyra,
you’re beautiful.”
She takes the
bouquet from him and breathes its scent in deeply, then sets the roses on the
nightstand near the note. She embraced him in a time-stopping kiss. With
Sebastian by her side, Kyra is left with a decision. And the fates of both
Vampyre and humankind hang in the balance. The choice is hers and hers alone.

It’s been seven months since Brie Hooker, a vegan, moved to Udderly Kidding Dairy to live with her feisty Aunt Eva, a confirmed carnivore.
But tonight there’ll be no family feud over dinner entrees.
Udderly’s hosting a campaign fundraiser for Eva’s best friend, who hopes to be South Carolina’s next governor. The candidate’s son, a pro quarterback, is flying home for the wingding. And Brie’s eager to get a close-up view of the cute tush she’s admired on TV, even though she’s reluctantly sworn off even more tempting local beefcake.
The campaign fundraiser promises to be a huge success until a pitchfork attack turns the goat farm into a crime scene—again.
To protect her friends, Brie puts her sleuthing skills to work. Will she live long enough to find out who’s behind a vicious assault, a kidnapping, blackmail, and murder?

About the Author

Linda Lovely finds writing pure fiction isn’t a huge stretch given the years she’s spent penning PR and ad copy. Linda writes a blend of mystery and humor, chuckling as she plots to “disappear” the types of characters who most annoy her. Quite satisfying, plus there’s no need to pester relatives for bail. Her newest series offers goodnatured salutes to both her vegan family doctor and her cheese-addicted kin. She’s an enthusiastic Sisters in Crime member and helps organize the popular Writers’ Police Academy. When not writing or reading, Linda takes long walks with her husband, swims, gardens, and plays tennis.

Interview with Linda Lovely:

Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
Both. Sometimes my characters seem to whisper suggestions to me as I’m typing about what should come next or how they’d really react/respond to a given situation or comment. But I do have the power to edit! If my characters, especially the ones who think they’re comics, hijack the story for too long with their dialogue or antics, I’ll revise their funny sidetrack to keep the plot moving.
Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
With the Brie Hooker Mysteries, I try to deliver novels that explore how ordinary people can triumph as they come into contact with criminals, who often believe their actions are justified by personal grievances or changes that they oppose. While the books are seasoned with humor and exclude gore and explicit sexual scenes, I try to ensure there’s plenty of danger and thrills to keep readers turning pages. I also think the topics explored are meaty enough to provoke ample book club discussion. Examples include unplanned development, environmental issues, media abuse, land scams, homegrown terrorist organizations and intolerance for opposing viewpoints.

Have you written any other books that are not published?
No. PICKED OFF is the second book in the Brie Hooker Mystery series, and I’m working on the third series title now. I’ve written and published a total of 7 books. In addition to my current humorous mystery series, I’ve published: LIES, Secrets Can Kill, a standalone historical romantic suspense set in 1938; DEAR KILLER and NO WAKE ZONE, entries in the traditional Marley Clark Mystery series, and DEAD LINE and DEAD HUNT, titles in the Smart Women, Dumb Luck romantic suspense series.
Pen or typewriter or computer?
I was a journalism major and started my career (eons ago) on a standard typewriter. I was thrilled to advance to an IBM Correcting Selectric and then move up to my first computer, a 64K wonder from Xerox that cost about $10,000. Boy, have things changed. Can’t imagine going back to pre-digital days without the ability to cut, paste, shuffle, edit on the fly, and do global search and replace. However, I do carry pen and paper with me almost everywhere I go in case I want to make notes.

Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
After spending decades writing feature articles, newsletters and ad copy for clients, I’m researching and writing what I want. What fun! It’s also quite satisfying to kill off on paper some of the more annoying idiots I’ve encountered over the years. While I’ve changed their names, appearances, ages, backgrounds, and sometimes even their genders, their personalities remain intact and I know who they are. Very therapeutic. I also enjoy knowing that justice will be served at the end of my novel. I’m an optimist and I want to give my readers—as well as myself—smiles and a sense of hope when they turn the last page.

Malevolent Sadness by Julian Coleman blitz

Malevolent Sadness
Julian Coleman
(The Prophet’s Mother, #2)
Publication date: June 24th 2017
Genres: Adult, Horror, Thriller
***Contains Graphic Violence/Adult Content***
A new paranormal suspense thriller from the WINNER of The Independent Author Network 2016 OUTSTANDING BOOK of the YEAR. Can a detective save a Prophet from a monster? Harry is an Army veteran who survived a childhood tragedy and tough years in foster care. Today, he’s a pragmatic and no-nonsense Homicide detective investigating the Victor Adamson kidnapping. As he digs for leads, Harry realizes he’s in the middle of a dark conspiracy, and his life is in jeopardy. His only option is to save Victor. But to do that, he must embrace the supernatural. He has to believe monsters are real. If he doesn’t, then both he and Victor may die.
EXCERPT:
The shadow woman floated upward. Her elegant ascent was the most beautiful thing Harry had ever seen. Outside the wind screamed like a lost soul in perpetual torment. There was an inhuman quality in the sound, which convinced Harry he’d lost any chance of reasoning with Evie.
Edgar dipped inside a pocket and pulled out a stone. It was black, larger than a half-dollar, and etched with gold symbols. Edgar grinned without a glimmer of humor as he held up the stone like a talisman.
“I hope you rot in hell!” Edgar said as he faced down the specter.
She didn’t recoil.
As she floated closer, Edgar’s bravado wavered. Outside the wind’s fierceness kicked up and the soulful moan sounded more pained.

Author Bio:
I'm a Paranormal/Supernatural Award Winning author who grew up in Richmond, Virginia. As a child I suffered from night terrors. I'm sure you've heard of sleep paralysis which leaves you with the inability to move or speak. There are those of us who not only suffer the paralysis, but we see and hear horrible creatures. Most of the time, I had the good sense to keep my eyes closed. Yes, most of the time. Tell me, who wants to have nightmares about demons?
As I grew older, I realized some demons may not be hideous. To this day, I believe true evil is seductive, even beautiful. Unfortunately there are bad things you can't outgrow. You learn to cope. I did that by writing about demons who will sip your soul while giving you a kiss.
As an adult I also discovered that love transcends nightmares. I'm a dog lover and on several fortunate occasions my dogs entered my dream realm and saved me. The author in me couldn't resist, so in addition to writing about seductive demons, I've penned a tale about a mischievous pooch. If you want a chuckle then read about my canine diva. But...you may want to take a darker path with me. You may want to meet my demons. If that's the case, then I want you to be scared with me. Is that wrong? I don't just want to scare you, though. I want you to care about my characters. Because if you care about them, then you will be afraid for them too. Who knows, you could have nightmares about beautiful demons, too.

Author Bio:

Aurelia Fray is the naughty Hyde side of a rather ordinary woman. Whenever her mistress lets her out to play, there are sure to be tales worth telling. She lives and works in London, England, enjoys all things artistic and spends most of her time buried in books or paint.

With a degree in English literature and a love of all things wordy it is no real surprise she adores penning salacious stories. She has won various short story and poetry competitions and suspects that her foray into erotic literature will be a titillating adventure for author and readers alike.

Bound by Alexandrea Weis & Lucas Astor

Bound
Alexandrea Weis & Lucas Astor
(A Magnus Blackwell Novel #2)
Published by: Vesuvian Books
Publication date: April 17th 2018
Genres: Adult, Supernatural
Magnus Blackwell’s past is about to catch up with him.
An evil force has seized New Orleans. Pestilence, suffering, and darkness cloak the city. The citizens are scared and need their mambo to guide them, but Lexie Arden can’t help anyone. A diabolical presence has taken Lexie’s power and severed her ties with the other side.
Magnus Blackwell is fighting demons of his own. Torn between his devotion to Lexie and a spirit from his past, Magnus’s loyalty is put to the test. He must revisit his sins to uncover the key to the hatred ripping the city apart. If he doesn’t, Lexie’s reign as mambo will end.
Their search for answers leads them deep into the darker realms of voodoo—until a desperate Lexie does the unthinkable, and Magnus can do nothing to spare her from her fate.
My review:
5*
Bound is the 2nd book in the Magnus Blackwell series by Alexandrea Weis with Lucas Astor. I do suggest you read book 1 before starting book 2. I did not read book one and know although I thoroughly enjoyed Bound I would of enjoyed it even more if I had of read Damned book 1 first. There are a lot of references to events in book one and at times I was sad I did not know fully know what happened.

In the book Lexie is the New Mambo of New Orleans. She is trying to prove herself when she looses her powers. Bad things are starting to happen all over New Orleans and Lexie is powerless to set things right at the moment. Magnus Blackwell is a ghost, his job is to keep Lexie safe. When Lexie lost her powers he gains them, but he cannot do everything Lexie can from the spirit world, and with no powers Lexie cannot do much either.

The book is basically a mystery as well. Lexie and Magnus must figure out who is causing the trouble, save New Orleans, and also get Lexie's powers back.

Author Bio:
Lucas Astor is from New York, has resided in Central America and the Middle East, and traveled through Europe. He lives a very private, virtually reclusive lifestyle, preferring to spend time with a close-knit group of friends than be in the spotlight.
He is an author and poet with a penchant for telling stories that delve into the dark side of the human psyche. He likes to explore the evil that exists, not just in the world, but right next door behind a smiling face.
Photography, making wine, and helping endangered species are just some of his interests. Lucas is an expert archer and enjoys jazz, blues, and classical music.
One of his favorite quotes is: “It’s better to be silent than be a fool.” ~Harper Lee (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Alexandrea Weis is an advanced practice registered nurse who was born and raised in New Orleans. Having been brought up in the motion picture industry, she learned to tell stories from a different perspective and began writing at the age of eight. Infusing the rich tapestry of her hometown into her award-winning novels, she believes that creating vivid characters makes a story memorable. A permitted/certified wildlife rehabber with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, Weis rescues orphaned and injured wildlife. She lives with her husband and pets in New Orleans.
