She's single and not ready to mingle.

After the end of a months-long relationship with Mr. All Wrong, Emery Bellerose isn’t looking for love. In fact, it’s the farthest thing from her mind.

With the paparazzi camped outside of her house she has no choice but to stay next door with the new neighbors. That's when Emery meets the man who makes her feel things she never knew she could.

He's alone and wants to keep it that way.

Four years ago Spanish heartthrob Rafael Cruz’s life crashed and burned in a way he's never recovered from. With his ability to trust obliterated he vowed to stay single and unattached forever.

But you know what they say about best-laid plans.

What’s supposed to be an uneventful family vacation in Malibu becomes a game changer thanks to Elvis, the meddling peacock no one realizes is playing matchmaker.

“You’ve already got one peacock, Emery—there is no need for another. What you need is a man.”

The intensity in his gaze heated my blood. I bit my lip as I cocked my head to the side. “Are you applying for the job?” I asked.

“I am,” he said. Sitting up straight, he leaned in closer and slid his hand behind my neck.

There was a rightness to the way he held me, something I’d never known could be felt between two people. His hand cupping the back of my neck gave me all of the feels— as did the sensation of his warm breath against my lips as he hovered above me. His eyes stayed locked on mine as he held still, and I realized he was waiting for me to give him the green light. I nodded once, my stomach fluttering at the relieved smile he gave before he kissed me.

Obviously I’d been kissed before, but when Rafael was the one doing it I realized I’d never been kissed well. I’d never felt more treasured than I did with one of his hands at the back of my neck while the other cupped my cheek. I raised my hands to his shoulders, sliding one around the back of his neck as he deepened the kiss. The first touch of his tongue against mine was electric, so much more than I’d ever known the act of kissing could feel like.

The heat and taste of him was so incredible that I couldn’t contain a moan as his tongue glided against mine. I shifted forward in an effort to be closer to him as my right hand trailed from his shoulder to his abdomen. The fingers on my left hand were busy running through his silky hair and still, I wanted more contact. I tried to get closer but without stopping the kiss, there was no way— and I damn sure wasn’t stopping. Either he sensed my frustration or he felt the same because the next thing I knew he’d dropped his hands to my waist. He lifted me up and into his lap like I weighed nothing, then groaned low in his throat as our upper bodies connected.

About the Author

I’m a Queensland, Australia gal and live in a small village in a rural area where the noise is that of birds and the air is clean.

For 35 years I worked as a Nurse in ER and Theater. I retired in 2011 and since then I have been able to devote my time to my first love and passion – storytelling.

Married to a Naval Officer for 44 years, we moved around the country on postings and lived overseas in Papua New Guinea for 3 ½ years. Living in a place, experiencing what the cities have to offer, their own unique beauty and way of life, gave me great ideas for stories I would later write.

Under my real name – Susan Horsnell, I write Western Historical Romance set in Texas or South Dakota (as I have travelled extensively in both) and so as not to confuse my readers, I write Steamy Contemporary, M/F, M/M, Menage and even a Shapeshifter under my pen name of A.L. Simpson.

I love exploring different genres and using life experience to weave into my stories. I love drama, twists, hard heroes with a soft center, which is sometimes hard to find and strong heroines who find themselves completed when they find their soulmate.

In our retirement, my husband and I travel a great deal although now, with an aging and ailing dog, we have confined it to exploring the beauty of Australia in our very well-appointed caravan as we are able to take her with us. I document our travels on my Facebook page for all to enjoy with me.

I hope you will take the time to pick up one of my books and I look forward to hearing from my readers either via Facebook or email.

Haven Witches: Haven Witches Mystery, Book 1 by Emma Watts

Kelly is going through divorce and with no place else to go she moves in to Haven California with her younger brother, the Youtube star. Thinking small town living would be great to get herself together and give her a fresh start. Instead she finds out she is a witch, and like her mother she is supposed to help solve crimes in the town.

For the most part I enjoyed the story. I just wish that the witch aspect was more centered on. I mean if I just fund out I was a witch I would be all over it trying to figure out what I could do with my gift. Instead Kelly was very blah say about it. This was a very short book and I am awaiting book 2 in the series to see if the witch aspect gets played on more.

Natalie Naudus narrates the story and has done a good job with it.

The Misspelled Charm by Shereen Vedam

This s a very short story but it gets its point across without the feel of being rushed. In the story Charmaine is a witch. She creates and sells her spells to the towns people. Her beloved Grandmother taught her everything she knows. Since her Grandmothers passing Charmaine's spells have been going wrong.

Kord believes that witch's are necessary. They cast spells to help with crops and other essential things, but other then that he doesn't choose to deal with them. Until one day he falls under a witch's love spell. He was set to marry a woman when he starts dreaming of another. He goes to find the woman he dreams of and ask her or demand her to break the spell.

When Kord arrives at Charmaine's house, she tries to break the spell, not knowing she is the woman in his dreams.

Shannon Condon does a very good job with the narration. She kept me involved in the story and does a great job with the voices.
