AuroTrends Professional Barber Razor Edge Hair Cutting Shears set

This is a really nice 6 piece set of Barber tools. The set comes with a really nice zippered case, a pair of cutting shears, a pair of thinning shears, 2 plastic hair clips and a comb. Both pairs of shears are really sharp and should hold up to even the most coarse hair. They have removable comfort grips in the handles. They simply pop out and back in. Great if you have larger fingers.

The zippered case is super nice. It has a nylon zipper It has pockets in one side that holds the shears separately from each other. There is also a snapped flap that hooks around the handle to make sure they stay in place. There is a soft flap in between sides of the case. The shears on side and a on the other there is a pocket to place the hair clips and the comb.

The 2 plastic hair clips are curved and about 3 inches long. Inside the clip there are little teeth so they stay put in the hair better.

The comb is 7 inches long. It is a plastic comb, It does have some flax to it. IT has the smaller closer bristles and the larger further apart bristles. This makes it easier when dealing with fine and thin hair as well as long and thick hair.

Great for trimming hair at home or a starter set for the professional.

Premium Quality Liquid Eyeliner Brushes

This set of 2 Liquid Eyeliner Brushes are a great addition to your make up bag. One brush is slant tipped and the other is round tipped. Great for getting the cat eye look perfect.  The wooden handles  on this brush are about 7 1/2 inches and 8 inches long, so much nicer then the short 4 inch brushes that comes with most eyeliners. To me it makes it much easier to not only hold onto the brush but to make it easier to paint the lines cleaner and neater. The bristles are synthetic fibers. They are firm but soft. They absorb just enough eyeliner to get a non stop line. The sharp edge bristles give you a clean linen. The handles have a unique shape to them and make it easier to hold the brush. These brushes are very lightweight also. I seem to have better control with these brushes then I do with some of the others I have tried.

These brushes work great with both liquid and gel eyeliner. The thicker eyeliner goes on just as easy as the thinner liquid eyeliners. These brushes should be cleaned with a gentle cleanser, like baby shampoo, after each use.

These are affordable high quality brushes. They look and feel like they will last a long time, and a lot longer then the cheaper brushes.

Memorex Alarm Clock Radio

This Alarm Clock radio is Bluetooth enabled, has mood lighting, 2 alarms, a FM radio, a USB charging port, a Auxiliary port and cable, dimmer for the digital display.

I have an old battery run alarm clock that I have used for years. It is time to replace it. My clock doesn't always go off in the mornings, and there is nothing special and useful about it other then telling me the time. So I wanted something different this time around. I came across this cool clock and decided to give it a shot. I like the fact that this clock is electric but also has a battery backup. I live in Florida in the middle of a National Forest and we get a lot of storms that takes our power out. So having the backup will let me sleep instead of worrying that the clock will not go off and the time will be wrong.

I love the fact that this has dual alarms also. I can set the time for my husband and also set the time for myself since we do not have to get up at the same times.

The LED light on the front of the clock is dimmable but I can also just put it face down on the nightstand if the light is too much. I love the rotating mood/night light. It gives off just enough light without lighting up the whole room. This would be good in a child's room as a nightlight.

There are so many things I love about this clock, and I am very happy to call it mine.

CRLight 3200K Dimmable LED Chandelier Bulb 6W 700LM Soft White

These little bulbs are super nice. They come with an  E26  base which is a regular lamp size. They have the bent tip that looks like a flame. They are LED. So this 6 watt is as bright as a 70 watt regular lightbulb but takes a whole lot less energy. These bulbs also do not get hot like regular light bulbs. They are also dimmable. They are a clear glass with the Edison looking filament inside the glass. I am putting them in my ceiling fan in the living room and they look really nice, and are just as bright if not brighter then the regular bulbs I had in there. There are 6 bulbs in this set.  Each is individually packaged in the main box. Inside the individually boxes the bulb is wrapped in a  styrofoam bag inside of a plastic form fitting case. The bulbs are about 4 1/4 inches long counting the base.

WITCH FOR HIRE book 1 by N. E. Conneely

Author: N.E. Conneely

Narrator: Jeff Hays, Soundbooth Theater

Series: A Witch's Path, Book 1

Length: 7 hours 14 minutes

Publisher: N.E. Conneely

Released: Feb. 11, 2015

Genre: Paranormal, Supernatural

Most witches don't work for police departments, but Michelle isn't your average witch. She's clanless, looking for a wizard who isn't offended by her lack of family connections, and in danger of losing her job if she can't find the escaped trolls before they start eating the local residents.
Trolls, angry police, and misbehaving spells are the least of her problems. Statues attacking homeowners might be problematic for your average witch, but to Michelle it's another day at the office. Her real concern is the wizard suddenly interested in dating her and an old elf set on pestering her. When her happy family is rocked by a long kept secret her stable life falls apart faster than she can pick up the pieces.
N.E. Conneely lives in northern Georgia with her dog and a mountain of books. They sweat through the summer and freeze through the winter, and life as they know it comes to an end when so much as a single snowflake falls out of the sky. For fun, N.E. plays with her dog, reads, knits, crochets, paints, and does tie-dyeing and origami. She makes a great pizza and is currently negotiating with her husband about raising sea monkeys and growing a vegetable garden.

And now, having produced more than 80 audio books and perfecting his craft, using the namesake of his live streaming narration show, the Soundbooth Theater shingle has been hung. Soundbooth Theater is dedicated to applying Jeff's production methods to new audio books with other budding narrator talent, and expanding his scope from audio books, to voicing and producing animation.

 My Review: 4*
I enjoyed this book. Witch for Hire is book 1 in the Witch For Hire series by N. E. Conneely.  I was actually quite surprised by all the twists and turns in this book. Michelle Oaks is a consultant to several Sheriff's departments in and around the Atlanta Georgia area. Michelle is also a witch, a Covenless witch at that. In this book the human and the magic world live and work together. Most of the police force is human so they call Michelle in on cases dealing with the magic world. The book features all the great characters from the magic and fantasy world, Witch's of course, trolls, mermaids, Demons, and more. In this book Michelle helps to save several beings from basically a Pound (kind of like a Dog Pound for other critters or beings), she also helps to save a mermaid, and more all the while looking for missing Troll's.

The book is also written in alternating chapters between Michelle's point of view and Elron's. I kind of didn't get why Elron is getting a staring roll just yet but I am sure his roll will become bigger in book 2.

I was very happy with N. E. Conneely's writing style. She did not take several chapters of the book up to introduce us to Michelle. Instead she jumped right in on the main plot and action all the while  dropping tidbits here and there to introduce us to Michelle and the other characters along the way. I also liked that there was just enough description of people, places, and things to keep the story moving without bogging me down or boring me. This is a pretty fast moving book, something was always going on, I really liked that. I also like the fact that this books was based in an area I could identify with, I was raised outside of Atlanta and know all the towns mentioned int he story, I could even picture certain buildings in my mind. That really brought this story more to life for me. There is also a dose of humor added.

The narration of the audiobook was pretty good. The voices were great. I did have a bit of a problem with the male voices. They all sounded kind of tinny like on the telephone even when they were standing in front of her.

All in all I enjoyed this book and cannot wait to get started on Book 2.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Jeff Hays. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
Q&A with Author N.E. Conneely
  • Tell us about the process of turning your book into an audiobook.
    • As an author the process is rather easy. Once Jeff was onboard with the project all I had to do were some pronunciation recordings, listen to the book, and give it the go ahead. The Jeff and Soundbooth have done all the heavy lifting.
  • Do you believe certain types of writing translate better into audiobook format?
    • I think my experiences in working with Soudbooth Theater and Jeff have been different from most author’s because of how Jeff approaches the narration. He really wants to bring the story to life and make it as immersive as possible for the reader rather than simply read it
  • Was a possible audiobook recording something you were conscious of while writing?
    • Not even a little. Witch for Hire started out as a combination of writing exercise and National Novel Writing Month project way back in 2009. It wasn’t until 2013 that I got motivated to publish the book and write the rest of the series.
  • How did you select your narrator?
    • A put a smale of the book up for audition. Jeff was the only narrator who could do a male and female voice, which was rather necessary for the story as it has multiple first person points of view, so I picked him.
  • How closely did you work with your narrator before and during the recording process? Did you give them any pronunciation tips or special insight into the characters?
    • Yes and no. Jeff read through the books before starting the narration so he had a pretty good feel for the characters. The pronunciation of some of the names and terms have been trickier. Since the books take place in north Georgia there are a lot of names that can be traced back to the Cherokee tribes who originally lived here. Ellijay, Etowah, Cohuttah, Dahlonega, and other names are a little tricky to figure out just from the spelling.
  • Were there any real life inspirations behind your writing?
    • I always heard the saying, “Write what you know.” That sounded great until I wanted to write fantasy. No one really knows magic, but I did know north Georgia. I grew up there, went to college, and worked my first job in the area so I picked that for the setting. It was what I knew.
  • Is there a particular part of this story that you feel is more resonating in the audiobook performance than in the book format?
    • It’s not really a single part, but I love how the narration brings out the snark and sarcasm that are in the books! It can be difficult to make that show through in text, but it’s so vivid the audiobook!
  • If you had the power to time travel, would you use it? If yes, when and where would you go?
    • No. I think we experience time as a linear constant to give us motivation to stay in the present and make the most of it. We only get one try at the here and now, which to me is part of what defines the human experience.
  • What do you say to those who view listening to audiobooks as “cheating” or as inferior to “real reading”?
    • No. Not everyone can physically read. Audiobooks give the deaf access to thousands of books they wouldn’t otherwise be able to experience. Even lifelong print readers can find themselves transition to audio. My grandmother loves to read, but she had tremors that make it very difficult for her to hold a book steady enough to read it or easily turn pages. Audiobooks are how she continues to read.
  • How did you celebrate after finishing each novel this series?
    • Oh, well, it depends on the book. When I finished Witch for Hire I celebrated by starting A Witch’s Path. When I finished A Witch’s Path I went out to dinner with my family and had a margarita. I think for A Witch’s Trial I had two glasses of wine and bought myself a tiny glass flying pig. Upon completing A Witch’s Concern, I went on a date with the man who became my husband. I didn’t celebrate finishing A Witch’s Rite because I was sick. For A Witch’s Demons, I went out to dinner and had a margarita.
  • What gets you out of a writing slump? What about a reading slump?
    • When I’m in a writing slump I try to read more and sometimes I switch projects until I find something that sparks my imagination. As for a reading slump, well, I tend to go in cycles of reading a lot and not reading much.
  • Have any of your characters ever appeared in your dreams?
    • Yup! Michelle first showed up in a dream. While the dream has nothing in common with the books, it did spark the idea and I’ve really loved writing Michelle’s adventures.
  • What bits of advice would you give to aspiring authors?
    • Read, write, repeat. Write new things, read news books, reread books, read your own work, and write something new. Then do it all over again. There’s no substitute for reading and writing.
  • Do you have any tips for authors going through the process of turning their books into audiobooks?
    • Enjoy it. Enjoy hearing the characters come to life and know that even if audio isn’t your favorite format, you’re making some readers very happy.
  • What’s next for you?
    • Write another book! I have a story arc for three more Michelle books as well as lots of other worlds that are begging to be explored so I have a lot of work to do!

Dark Embrace by Elle Boon

Dark Embrace
Elle Boon
(The Dark Legacy Series, #1)
Publication date: February 8th 2018
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

A DARK LEGACY where only the strong survive and those who are Goddess touched can complete the warriors who fight to protect the world from the creatures that go bump in the night.

DARK EMBRACE

Jennaveve, the Fey chosen by the Goddess to be the queen of her people for the past few millennium, is tired and wishes for a break, but hadn’t counted on being reduced to almost mortal thanks to a dark stranger. They say you should be careful what you wish for. The last time she’d taken a break, her Fey had left their realm, resulting in shifters on Earth known as the Mystic and Iron Wolves and even more she was still searching for.

Damien and Lucas Cordell knew they’d share a Hearts Love when the time came. As the twin sons of the Vampire King who’d mated a shifter, they were the first of their kind. When they’d thought their mate was finally within their reach and was a shifter like their mother only to realize she wasn’t theirs, they’d almost lost their lives to the alpha of the Iron Wolves, Kellen Styles. Instead, the error led them to the being that was…the Fey Queen Jennaveve. Only she was even more elusive than the wind.

Time and patience was something Damien and Lucas had in spades, until the female they’d already laid claim to, even if she hadn’t accepted them yet, was taken by an enemy. Saving Jenna became their one and only focus. As time and realms slip between them, their fear for her had them forgetting about patience and made claiming Jenna as their Hearts Love, hoping she accepted their Dark Embrace.

Will the Cordell Twins be able to rescue Jenna from the evil who has taken her? Will Jenna get her powers back? Who is the dark presence and how will they defeat a being who is strong enough to bring the Fey Queen down to her knees?
