Asian Snack Box, 20 Count, Gift Package

Wow this 20 piece set of snacks gives you a great taste of Asian munchies. There are sweet, salty, and savory snacks in the package. There are 20 single serve packages in the box and each item is different. The packages are large enough to share at least a taste with the whole family. Some of the treats in the box were cookies, candies, salty snacks, jellies, noodle soups and more.

I like to think of this box as a learning experience. This box would be great if you have kids and helping them to learn about different countries. Also to give kids and adults alike tastes from different cultures. I have always heard how the American snacks are a lot different, that our sweet snacks are way more sweet then other places. Most of the sweet snacks were not as sweet as our but some were much better not being as sweet. Other's I did not care for not being sweet. I would love to try snack boxes from other countries as well now that I have tried this one.

Plus each County usually has their own types of foods that are different then other places. It was actually fun to be able to see the different types of snacks and to taste the different ones. Some we liked some not so much. Some I liked and my husband didn't and visa versa.

Gracie's Goods Chilled Condiment Server

I love this Condiment Chiller. It's great for everything from parties to taco night. I have a rather large family and everyone lives close so several times a year we all get together for barbecues, picnics, and family dinners. We also live in Florida. I have a large back porch and this is where we have our family dinners. Having this condiment chiller is going to make our dinners not only easier but safer. By safer I mean we can keep foods and condiments chilled and do not have to worry about bacteria setting in from the heat. It also makes things easier by being able to keep things separated, like taco fixins, hamburger fixins and even ice cream fixins. I love that the tray are removable and this has a hinged lid on top to keep bugs and little fingers out.

There are 5 trays that hold 2 1/2 cups. Underneath the removable trays there is room to add ice to keep things cold. You can add warm water instead of ice to keep things warm and nothing at all for things that don't really need a temperature setting. This is made from durable acrylic. It is BPA-free and non-toxic. Great for holding dips, veggies, ice cream toppings, condiments and more.

lotus earrings

Super cute earrings. There are 2 pairs in the set 1 set of gold alloy, one set of silver alloy. These earrings do not contain nickle so they shouldn't hurt most peoples ears. I love how the lotus flower is behind the ear with just a cute bar on the front of the ear.

Waterproof Roof Top Cargo Carrier for Cars, Vans and SUVs (15 Cubic Feet)

My husband and I love to travel. For the 2 of us it is no problem to just load up in the car and toss a suitcase in the back. Every once in a while though we also toss one of more of our grown kids or some of the Grand Kids in the car with us. Then we have a problem with room for luggage. I drive a small Nissan Versa and it does have a rather large truck but it is still nice to have more room. This bag is a little big for my car but we are able to get it on. My husband drives a Dodge Journey. IT has 3 row seating in it, if we have to use the 3rd row seats there is no cargo room left. with the 3rd row seats up there is no room except for tote bags or small suitcases and then only 1 or 2. This luggage bag will be perfect for our next trip with any of the kids.

The cargo bag is 15 cubic feet of space it is 34 inches wide, 44 inched long, and 17 inches tall. The sides zipper and velcro to keep everything safely inside. The bag is waterproof.  The bag zips and velcro's down each side for easy but yet safe storage. The straps are connected to the top of the bag so you don't have to worry about them coming loose or the bag flapping around. It also comes with a very nice pull string bag to keep the Cargo Carrier in when not in use. Great for storing in the trunk of the car or in a closet in the house between uses.

Cisno Pet Heating Pad

My little dog is an old man. He is 11 years old and is always cold it seems. I have blankets pretty much where ever he lays since he curls up in them to stay warm. I honestly have never though to put a heating pad in his bed to help him stay warm when he is not snuggled up to me. This Cisno Pet heating pad is perfect for my dog Mouse. I love that I can change the temperature so they he will be using it year round not just when it is cold. My bigger dog Rebel is also an old man and though he is way bigger then the pad I have found him cuddled up in the little dog bed taking advantage of the heat also.

The heating pad is Medium Sized, it is about the size of a regular human sized heating pad. It is 12 inches by 16  inches and less then 1/4 inch thick. There are several heating temperatures to choose from.. They go from 77 to 131°F.  It takes about 30 minutes for the pad to come up to its full temperature range but does start to get warm very quickly. It is waterproof and has a built in power surge protection module. The cord is quite long and chew resistant.  It comes with 2 zip off pad covers, a dark blue one and a tan one. These pad covers are machine washable.

#Lasten Rolling Tools Include Wooden Rolling Pin

I love cooking and baking. Cooking is as much a hobby for me as it is a way to sustain life. So I am always on the look out for the next great kitchen item. I think I have found a great one with this Rolling Pin from Lasten. I love how it it not huge in diameter. I can use it with one hand, which is important for me since I have carpal tunnel in my right hand and have had to surgeries to fix it but they have not worked so far, so this is a perfect kitchen item for me.

This rolling pin is 15.7 inches long,  about 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and is made of solid wood. There are no connectors from the pin to the handles, it is a single piece or wood. The wood is very smooth and there are no splinters anywhere on mine. Th rolling pin is also very light weight. Unlike the old wooden rolling pin I have had for years. This weighs about as much as ordinary plastic rolling pins. The compact hardwood roller makes it free from bacteria or fungus, and will not generate any pollution. This rolling pin should not be put in  dishwasher as it could make it warp and start to splinter. Instead it should be hand washed, but not left to soak in the water. You should dry it thoroughly with a towel, and lastly it should be oiled frequently with mineral oil. If it gets stained you can use a weak solution of bleach to clean it.

From Compton to Congress: His Grace for my Race by Walter Tucker III

Title: From Compton to Congress: His Grace for my Race
Author: Walter Tucker III
Genre: Nonfiction Memoir
From Compton to Congress reveals shocking criminal charges, based on an FBI Sting, that send Congressman Walter R. Tucker III reeling, and changes his life forever. Against the great odds of overcoming the tough streets
of Compton, young Tucker fulfills his goals of becoming valedictorian of Compton High School, graduate of USC
with honors, graduate of Georgetown Law School, passing the California State Bar, and filling his father’s vacant
seat as Mayor of Compton—all by age 33. During his meteoric rise in the political arena, at age 35 he becomes
the youngest African-American from California to be elected to a U.S. congressional seat. However, the U.S.
Attorney’s federal indictment against him shocks the nation. Tucker’s choice to fight the charges against him
thrusts him into a criminal trial that tests the condition of his human spirit and provokes us to reflect on every
man’s plight versus every man’s fight.

Excerpt:
Chapter 3
DAD

“Attorney Cochran, please!”
“Who’s calling?”
“This is Congressman Tucker and—
An aloof, “Hold please,” on the other end.
“Wait! This is an emergency—!”
Too late. The line went silent.
The reception area of my congressional office swelled with visitors’ voices from back home. Their concerns were rising and tumbling like the howling March winds outside my office windows. Most days, my constituents’ voices were like string music and violins. But now, my head was spinning with the mysteriously droning voice of a reporter from The Wall Street Journal:
“Hi, Andy Pazstor with The Wall Street Journal…I’ve been informed by a reliable source that pursuant to a three-year investigation by the FBI, you’re about to be indicted…”
The FBI! An acronym that makes even the strongest soul cringe like a child about to be spanked. I’d always thought of them as trained hounds that sniff out really subversive activity: targeting organized crime or catching terrorists. I imagined them locking away people whose crimes traversed interstate lines.
I nervously tapped my finger on the top of my desk, seething through my teeth. “Come on, Johnnie. Where are you?” Probably still hassling with Michael Jackson’s case. He might be the “King of Pop,” but my life is the king of need right now…I need you!
I pressed the phone hard to my ear like it would make Johnnie come on the line, like it was going to stop my stomach from looping, my heart from racing. Suddenly, a click. Jan, my homegirl from Compton, came on the line. “Congressman, he’s in trial. I’ll have him call you as soon as he comes up for air.”
“Jan, you gotta page him now. This is an emergency!”
“Okay, I’ll have him get back to you as soon as I can.”
As soon as I hung up the phone, I knew I needed a minute to catch my breath. I buzzed the intercom.
“Latonia, please hold all my calls for a little while.”
“Yes, sir.”
I leaned back in my executive chair and pondered.
Extortion?! Tax evasion?! Three years ago? I heard myself groan in the loneliness of my inner office, with its walls full of silent mementos and its oblong windows covered in Victorian drapes that shut out the blustery wind swaying in the trees outside.
Walter R. Tucker III. Three years ago. 1991. Serving as mayor of Compton, California. They had to be looking for someone else. Something that happened three years ago? As I sat back in my office, I realized that three years can make a world of difference.
