Basic Witches: How to Summon Success, Banish Drama, and Raise Hell with Your Coven by Jaya Saxena

Ok let me start by saying I have been studying and learning witchcraft for more years then I care to say. This book is a joke to anyone who is even the least bit schooled in the real thing. On top of that if you take this as your first book and try some of the junk in this book you can and will be opening yourself to some not so fun things in your life. The book does not give any warnings on how some spells can turn on you so to speak. Also there is not enough information given in the book to make these spells plausible. When using tarot cards you really need to know what the meaning of the card is, you don't just pick the pretty one. You also need ore then 1 paragraph to understand and be able to read tea leaves. These things need full chapters if not more then a single paragraph.

As a fun book this has humor, to me it was more making fun of witchcraft then being serious. This book was not for me and honestly I doubt it is for anyone else who is serious about witchcraft in any way.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

Tangible Spirits by Becki Willis

This book did not turn out to be what I thought it was but... it was still a great story. It was more a mystery and romance then a paranormal book, even though there were some ghosts. The book moved a little slow for me especially at the start but it was still a book  didn't want to put down. I liked that the book did not need cursing or steamy sex scenes. Yes there was sex but it was just hinted at and you used your imagination to fill in the blanks. The book has a lot going for it, ghosts, mystery, intrigue, hot guys, romance, murder and more.

Gera is a reporter and has come to Jerome AZ in search of ghosts. Being a stoic non believer this will be a hard story for her to write. When she arrives she is drawn into the Twilight Zone at least to her. The whole town believes in ghosts so much so that when Abe Cunningham is murdered everyone lays the blame on Mac. Mac is the towns most popular ghost.

Gera not believing in ghosts decides to turn her ghost article into a murder mystery. Soon she feels like she is being followed. Someone knifes her car tire, she is drugged by the snake loving bartender. She falls for the hotel she is staying ats owner, the town banker falls for her and so much more. The book may be a little slow moving but it does have a lot going on it.

(Starlight Gods, #3)
Publication date: December 22nd 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
Christmas.
A time for giving and receiving. A time for celebration. A holiday I’ve only read about in a storybook – page after page of seeing a little girl celebrating the joys of Christmas.
I had envied that girl, reading her tale on the cold, library floor while she was surrounded by so much warmth. So many cycles trapped in the facility by my Owner, my only presents the old, tattered books that surrounded me, my imagination my only salvation.
So many cycles, I’d spent wishing to be like the girl in the fairy tale, wishing I was surrounded by my loved ones, opening presents and enjoying their company.
My wish had finally come true. This cycle would be different. Rescued by my star knights, I vowed to enjoy every minute of this season with them by my side.
This Christmas, I would enjoy being free.
This Christmas, I would enjoy being free.
Starlight Christmas is apart of the Holiday Series. It will be FULL-LENGTH novel and does not take place during the same timeline as the main series. It’s recommended to read DARK WISH- BOOK ONE of the Starlight Gods Series to understand/enjoy this novel.
Recommended for 18+ audience, containing mature sexual content and strong language.
EXCERPT:
Marcus turned his attention back to me – a satisfied grin formed on his smooth lips. I finally realized what he just did.
“You’re evil.”
“I’m smart.”
“How long until they realize you totally lied?”
“If I’m lucky thirty minutes, but knowing how sharp Elias is, he’ll find Kai in twenty.”
“You do realize you’ll have three angry shifters after you.”
“I’m prepared for that.” He reassured me. I was about to stand up when one arm hooked around me and his other arm hooked underneath my knees, lifting me up with ease.
I quickly hooked my hands around his neck as I gave him a confused look.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m kidnapping the princess.”
“I don’t think you’re supposed to reveal your plans.”
“There’s no one here to stop me.”
“How about if I don’t want to be kidnapped?”
He buried his face against my shoulder – kissing my flesh. I moaned, biting my lip. He rose to kiss me on my lips before pulling away.
“Trust me, my Firefly. You shall enjoy me kidnapping you. Now, we must scurry away to my evil lair, aka my bedroom.”
