True love is said to defy time, but can it survive space, aliens, and being abducted? Angus MacNamara and Erin O’Shea are about to find out.

The big blue planet that most call  Earth desperately needs matchmakers. There is only one small—okay, BIG—problem. No one wants the alien dating service job. No one. The original matchmakers are dead, and much worse, their DNA is no longer viable for cloning.

Solution? Go back in time to some of Earth’s other—thankfully slower spinning—versions, and retrieve the alternates of the one couple in any universe who seems able to do the job.

Far easier said than done though, especially when the alternates are anything but a loving couple, and both are none too pleased to be thrown into the future.

What does oil and water create? Salad dressing or a real mess of aliens, humans, and matchmaking fun!

Excerpt

Over four weeks in that box and Angus was a changed man… at least physically. She put a hand on his arm. It was warm to her touch, thank the Goddess. She had feared they might turn him into one of the cold ones. Some of the aliens had much lower body temperatures. Their clothing kept them at a chilled level that would have had her building a peat fire in the hearth of her little cottage back home. How she missed that little house now, even the broken cook stove and the misbehaving flue. But Doctor Nate had warned her not to dwell on the past since there was no going back to it. He said it was scientifically impossible. She would have said that applied to nearly everything she saw here.

“Angus,” she said. “Are ya alright? Speak to me, for feck’s sake. I’ve been waiting weeks for ya to come around. I don’t like being the only one scared shitless here.”

Eyes blinked open and a turquoise gaze met hers finally. She wanted to lay her head on his chest and weep with relief that he lived.

“What the feck happened to me?” Angus asked, moving to sit up. Erin O’Shea’s surprising strong hand pushed him back down.

“No, don’t raise up. Ya have been very ill,” Erin said. “Take it slow for a bit. No one means ya harm that I can tell.”

“That fellow I drew my gun on did,” Angus said, irritated at the tiredness he felt.

Erin shook her head. “Yar talking about Agent Black and he’s the least of our concerns in this place, Angus.”

His grip on her arm was urgent. “Did they hurt ya?” Angus asked roughly.

Again, Erin shook her head as she peered into his tired gaze. Men could defile ya when they took a notion, but they’d take a knife to anyone else that tried. All men she knew were just as strange to her as any alien she’d met so far.

“No one’s hurt me. They’ve all been completely kind. When yar well enough, I will explain what I know about things. It’s very confusing here, but once ya adjust, they let ya move around with just one guard.”

“Guard? Is this… is this a prison, then?” Angus asked, his throat parched for a drink.

Erin could tell Angus was fighting sleep and losing. “No. I don’t think so. It’s just very different from Lisdoonvarna. Sleep now, Angus. We’ll talk in a bit when yar more alert. They let me come visit ya whenever I want.”

“Good. Come back soon then,” Angus said.

She felt him pull her hand to his chest. Even covered with a sheet she could feel the hard muscles beneath her palm. Angus felt under her fingers like Toorg looked. He definitely hadn’t felt like that before the box.

His action of hanging on to her had her remembering the one and only time she’d found herself under him. Even with no muscles, Angus had shown her a slice of heaven she’d never seen before. It had been wonderful right up to the part where he’d called her Mary just before finding his own relief.

That passionate madness was water under a bridge neither of them would ever see again. She’d be no man’s whore substitute, not even for the grieving widower who vexed her heart.

Nine years Angus had mourned his wife and nine years Erin had waited for him to stop. As far as she knew, there had been no woman under him but her. Apparently, Angus preferred the pleasure of his own hand, especially if there was an oversized glass of ale in it most of the time.

Erin snorted as she stared at the man on the table. “I can’t believe they’d think I’d ever love a wreck of a man like ya, Angus MacNamara. Obviously, the Universe 1 version of me was completely daft. Unless yer version here was made better than yar ever going to be.”

She stopped talking and saw Angus was completely unconscious again.

Running her hand down his chest, she let her fingers bump over all the ridges. Why hadn’t they bothered to do this to her body? She was soft around the middle. Plus, it would have been nice to have a tighter butt and a little better lift to her breasts.

Thirty-eight wasn’t old by any definition she had of aging, but it wasn’t like she was twenty-five either. Angus felt twenty-five… or at least thirty-five. They’d sent her through some fecking beeping machine and not touched her again afterward. That decision, given what they’d done to Angus, was just one more thing she didn’t understand.

Angus jerked in response to stroking fingertips and woke under her touch. Her hand had drifted lower than she realized. She snatched her hand away, mostly because it wanted to keep exploring.

“We’ve been kidnapped,” Angus declared roughly, then rolled his head to the side and slept once more.

Erin nodded, though Angus could no longer see her response. “Close enough,” she said and patted his chest one final time.

Excerpt:

Evie was more
beautiful than he remembered. They sat crouched together on the ground. A
smudge of dirt was streaked across her jawline and chin. Light from a torch far
above their heads shone down. Her eyelashes cast shadows on her high
cheekbones. Her black horns hadn’t diminished her looks. Partly because he
loved her and nothing could interfere with that, and also he knew they were
actually once golden wings. Even in the dimly lit cavern, he saw her blush. She
was a fierce Warrior class angel in combat, but somewhat demure. His mate
concealed the protrusions with her hands.
He tried his
best to smile. “Do not worry about those.”
“Ohhhh,” the
Damned soul garbled. Virgil helped Evie up and shielded her with his big body.
The soul inched his way toward the cavern’s entrance on his stomach with his
head facing up, leaving a bloody trail in his wake.
“Let’s get out
of here,” Virgil said, taking her hand. The cool metal cuff reminded him they
wouldn’t be getting far. Pools of molten rock lay on either side of the path
leading to the Void cavern. Leaving her side, he searched around for something
to chip the stone wall surrounding the anchors to free her chains.
On the far wall,
near the people chained for punishment, Virgil spotted a pointed iron rod.
Trying to break Aba’s chains was useless, but the walls weren’t under the
Ruler’s control. Virgil focused on the metal staff as he approached. The
chained Damned didn’t look as disgusting at a distance, although up close…oh
Deus. Intestines spilled out onto the floor, eyeballs hung from sockets, and
one was missing its lower jaw. Strike that. Not missing. On the ground in a
pool of bodily fluids...
Virgil covered
his mouth until he realized his own hand was coated in feces and coughed in
disgust. “Yuk.” He dreamed of a hot shower. Many hot showers. He grabbed the
rod and ran back to Evie and started chipping away at the wall.
“What are you
doing?” she questioned.
“Getting
us…out…of here,” he said between jabs. Stone chunks flew.
“But I don’t
want to go anywhere.”
His heart
constricted and died a little bit, except he didn’t stop chipping away. He
switched to the other side of the anchor. Pebbles and dust landed on the
ground.
“Stop…please,”
she begged.
“No. You’re
coming with me.”
“But I told you
I don’t want to.”
The last bit of wall gave way and the anchor
clanked to the ground. They stared at each other for a moment. “You wanted me
to tell you how I knew your name, did you not?”
“Yeah, but—”
“That is the
deal.”
Evie narrowed
her eyes. “That wasn’t our deal.”
He splayed his
hands and shrugged. “It is now.”
“You can’t
change the rules.”
“Are you going
to come willingly or do I have to carry you out of here? Your choice, but I’m
warning you, I’m not leaving without you.”

About the Author:

A.J. Norris is a romantic suspense and dark paranormal romance author. She enjoys being able to get inside someone else's head, even a fictional one, and see what they see. Watching how her characters deal with difficult situations or squirm with the uncomfortable ones makes the hard work of writing all worth it. However, writing and reading weren’t always in her foremost thoughts. In fact, her love affair with writing came as a shock to everyone she knows, including herself. At a young age, she rarely opened a book, unless forced to read something for school. But that’s all behind her now. She wrote her first book several years ago, which turned out to be a surprisingly cathartic process, and she hasn’t been able to stop writing since.

A.J. loves going to the movies, watching her son play baseball, and communing with other writers. She’s a member of two writer’s groups and RWA. She lives in southeastern Michigan with her family, who are extremely tolerant (at least most of the time) of all her late nights behind the computer.

Along with contributing to Magical Pages Book Blog & Reviews, she’s currently working on book two of her Tattoo Crimes Series.

Her romantic suspense novel, Tattoo Killer (Book 1 of the Tattoo Crimes series), was published by Limitless, LLC in October 2016. Her Black Wings, book one of The Dark Amulet Series, a paranormal romance, released in July 2016 and book two, Her Black Heart released August 23, 2016. The third book in her Dark Amulet series, Her Black Soul, comes out April 11, 2017.

Freckle Stars by Jackie Leduc

Very cute book. Clementine is covered in freckles, and she hates them. One day she decides to do something about them. She tries several things an nothing works. Her mother tells her that freckles are really stars and when you go to sleep they shine n the night sky. Clementine is smarter then that. She asks if they are stars how come she can see them before she goes to sleep. mother explains that just means other kids with freckles are already asleep. Now Clementine is happy about her special freckles.

This book teaches a good lesson about being happy about yourself the way you are and it also teaches kids how people feel when you pick on them.

Deadly Spirits (A Mac McClellan Mystery Book 4) by E.Michael Helms

This is my first Mac McClellen book. I had no problems following the story without reading the first 3 of the series.  I have to say Mac is kind of a pig though he has a very serious roaming eye.  No female is safe even women over the age of 60.  That was kind of a turn off to me with this book where I had to keep reading what he thought about every woman he runs into in the book. Other then that at times there was bit to much rattling on for me about things that had nothing to do with the story. But the story itself was pretty good.

I love the paranormal, I love Ghost Hunting, and I love Haunted houses.  In this book Mac's Girlfriend has talked him into joining the the Palmetto Paranormal Society, which she is a member of. he is a true skeptic but joined anyway to keep his lady happy. On a investigation to a haunted motel, the group president who is also a professor at a local collage, supposedly falls down the stairs and breaks his neck. None of the other investigators hear anything, which makes Mac suspicious.  On their next investigation Stella another member of their group and also the girlfriend of the man who died, tumbles 12 stories over the side of a lighthouse to her death.  There was no way she fell the rail would of been about chest high to the woman.

Mac is really suspicious now and starts and all out investigation. Is it the group members someone is killing or is someone after whatever the professor was doing?

Quantum Roots II Blitz

Fiction, Satire
Date Published:  February 2017

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

In this sequel to Quantum Roots, the meekish Olan Chapman faces danger as vigilante Samuel Leroy McCoy, a US deputy marshal who upheld law and order in 1876, Dodge City.

The metamorphous holds an eerie transformation, cloaked with rolling sagebrush and horse whinnies from yesteryear, which causes DPA Director, Alexis Grumman to rethink the validity of worm holes.

"Creation is a worm hole," replies Dr Norman Daly, "Atoms require hadrons to form a nucleus, and each hadron comes through it's own worm hole. Two quarks form the bi-dimensional plane needed to support the hole. The remaining quark squeezes through this hole, after which the first two quarks follow to shape the hadron to a given genetic, configuration. The hole then closes to divide time from timeless."

The gunfighter is wanted for multiple killings, a consequence that keeps the slender computer wizard on the run from authorities - and domineering wife, Ivy Chapman.

As in Quantum Roots, aka The Vigilante Sightings, Quantum Roots II is based on mounting evidence that people form from recycled energy.
Other Books in the Quantum Roots Series:

Federal agents, Alexis Grumman and Jeremy Wade track down a current day vigilante, whose fingerprints match those of a Korean War veteran. Author Kyle Keyes uses characters from two previous novels, to promote a theory that particle energy formats with a quantum root system, that can bypass time and space. Keyes believes that such fiction could turn to fact as we move into the age of quantum mechanics. Adventure fans everywhere should delight in this fast paced action story, that brings yesterday's gun play back to settle cyber-age injustice. Synopsis: Jesse Joe Jacks was born sometime during the snow blizzard of 1923. The Lower Elk County, game warden died from a lightning strike on July 23, 1959, while wearing a sheriff's star. Olan Chapman came to life in August of 1974 and found a computer career with a center city, electronics firm. Chapman drinks heavy and is haunted by flashbacks of an older sister, lost to an unsolved case of gang rape and murder. Jacks loved nature and lived to protect wildlife. He stood tall and fought to uphold justice. Jacks was also a crack shot with a firearm - any firearm. Chapman attends the theatre, plays piano and at one time led a march against the National Rifle Association. Both men have the same fingerprints, much to the chagrin of Lt General Alexis Grumman who heads the federal department for para-normal activities. Working with special agent, Jeremy Wade, Grumman breaks open the case when Chapman's fingerprints also match those of the vigilante.

About the Author

Born To Write:

Older Americans often come from whistle stop towns painted by Norman Rockwell. Kyle Keyes grew up in Clayton, a South Jersey borough first founded as Fislerville.  Clayton had a small urban district with street lights, but no indoor plumbing. Farmland and outhouses were a sign of the times.

Clayton was so small, that Keye's aunt doubled as his Sixth Grade school teacher, who once said that Kyle lived with his nose between the bookends. She must have known something.

Keyes went to Temple Tech for concrete and steel design in 1956 and 1957. He never became an engineer, but still has a red, tinker toy motor and his World War II, Erector Set.

The early Sixties found Kyle in the U.S. Army where his top sergeant would daily bark, "You just say morning, trooper. I'll decide if it's good or not!"

Keyes wholesaled bakery products to food chains for thirty years, and wrote odd items for local newspapers. He is widowed and currently lives in Florida. He has two children, Kathleen and Daniel. Grand children are now grown and too old for tales about railroads and yesterday's America. This leaves Keyes no option but to write books.

Se la ve.
