Kisses for Kindergarten by Livingstone Crouse

Stella Isabelle Harden is trying to decide if she wants to go to Kindergarten or not. At first she thinks no because her puppy told her so. As she rethinks her day at school she imagines all that she will do. Everything is going great until it is story time. Stella decides then she has to go so she can read her puppy Buster stories. Buster also gives the best wet kisses.

This book would be great for any child fixing to start school. It is written in rhyme. The pictures are spectacular. It is a short read but really will help a child who is afraid of starting school.

I received this book from the author or publisher on netgalley.com to read and review.

Feliz Pascua, Querido Dragon / Happy Easter, Dear Dragon by Margaret Hillert

This is a great book in so many ways. It as a cute easy and quick to read story. But it also features the story in both English and Spanish on the same page. The pictures are very nicely done throughout the book. The words are easy words for beginning readers. I like that the child can learn to read  the book in the chosen language and then when they have that mastered they can learn it in either English or Spanish.  Also at the end of the book their are teaching tips fr the parents to make this book educational for the child.  Younger children from 2 to 5 will enjoy the story itself but from 5 and up can use this book for learning as well.

The story is about a boy and his pet dragon. In the beginning they are outside enjoying all the newness Spring has to offer from brightly colored flowers to new baby ducks. Then they go inside and decorate Easter eggs, decorate an Easter tree, have a egg hunt, go to church, and enjoy Easter.

A Loud Winter's Nap Katy Hudson

This really an adorable story for the little ones. I would say ages 1 to 6. The pictures in the book are awesome. They really grab the kids attention. It is a very short story great for a bedtime story or just a few minutes of time with your child.

The story is about Tortoise. It is winter time and Tortoise just wants to nap until Spring. Every time he thinks he has found a nice comfy spot the other forest animals are close by making a lot of noise. So poor Tortoise packs his stuff and moves to another place just to be awoken again by more forest animals playing.  Tortoise finds what he thinks is a perfect spot. It just happens to be a sled at the top of a hill. By the time Tortoise's ride to the bottom of the hill is over he is no longer sleepy and decides he loves winter.

Tour for Angelbound by Christina Bauer

Angelbound
Christina Bauer
(Angelbound Origins #1)
Published by: Monster House Books
Publication date: December 30th 2016
Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Young Adult
*Now an audio book!*
Eighteen-year-old Myla Lewis is a girl who loves two things: kicking ass and kicking ass. She’s not your everyday quasi-demon, half-demon, and half-human, girl. For the past five years, Myla has lived for the days she gets to fight in Purgatory’s arena. When souls want a trial by combat for their right to enter heaven or hell, they go up against her, and she has not lost a battle yet.
But as she starts her senior year at Purgatory High, the arena fights are not enough to keep her spirits up anymore. When the demons start to act weird, even for demons, and the King of the Demons, Armageddon, shows up at Myla’s school, she knows that things are changing and it is not looking good for the quasi-demons. Myla starts to question everything, and does not like the answers she finds. What happened 17 years ago that turned the quasi-demons into slave labor? Why was her mom always so sad? And why won’t anyone tell her who her father is?
Things heat up when Myla meets Lincoln, the High Prince of the Thrax, a super sexy half-human and half-angel demon hunter. But what does a quasi-demon girl to do when she falls for a demon hunter? It’s a good thing that Myla is not afraid of breaking a few rules. With a love worth fighting for, Myla is going to shake up Purgatory.

This season, all eyes are on the Earl of Worthington’s spirited, beautiful sister, Lady Louisa Vivers. Many gentlemen are vying for her attention in and around the ton. The Rothwell estate has gone bankrupt, a scandal simmers in its wake, and he has nothing left to offer. Now, he must decide if he will let pride stand in the way of true love—or if he will risk everything, and let the lady decide for herself…

Excerpt Two:

Stanwood House, Mayfair

Measles?” Lady Louisa Vivers exclaimed. “All three of them?”

Excited to tell someone about the gentleman she’d seen in the Park, she had gone directly to the parlor she shared with her friend and new sister, Lady Charlotte Carpenter.

Just before the Season began in earnest, Matt Worthington, Louisa’s brother, had married Lady Grace Carpenter. Grace had guardianship of her seven brothers and sisters. The marriage had given Louisa a total of ten brothers and sisters, including her own three sisters, not including Grace. Sometime this coming winter, the number of children would increase to twelve with the arrival of Matt and Grace’s first child. The girls were ecstatic to be aunts. Even the boys were excited.

However, as Louisa opened her mouth to speak, Charlotte told her of the doctor’s diagnosis. Obviously, that news took precedence over Louisa’s.

Yes,” Charlotte replied. “Theo, Mary, and Philip. According to Cousin Jane and the information your mama left for Grace, the others, including Grace and Matt, have already had them.”

Will that put off Grace and Matt’s trip to Worthington?” The addition of so many family members meant that not only Worthington House but the Worthington main estate as well must undergo extensive renovations in order to accommodate everyone. In fact, the only one of her brothers and sisters not residing at present in the Carpenter town home, Stanwood House, was Charlie, Earl of Stanwood, who was at Eton. Even Louisa’s mother and her new husband, Richard, Viscount Wolverton, would stay at Stanwood House for the rest of the Season while Worthington House was being renovated. Well, after they returned from their wedding trip to Richard’s estate in Kent, of course. Fortunately, the two houses were directly across Berkeley Square from each other.

I think they must go,” Charlotte said. Sitting at the desk, she tapped the feather end of the quill against her cheek. “Renovations must be started in the schoolroom there if we are all going to reside at your family’s estate after the Season.”

Louisa and her sister were almost halfway through their first Season. This new development certainly complicated things.

Chewing her bottom lip, she began to mentally adjust her plans to account for the new development. “Hmm, I suppose we should write notes excusing ourselves from the entertainments we had planned to attend.” She glanced at the writing table. “What a bother. Why did the children have to choose now to fall ill?”

Charlotte let out a peal of laughter, lightening the mood. “That is almost exactly what Matt said.”

(Exclusive Excerpt):

Chapter One

Lucinda’s angry, discordant note on the piano brought Lissa’s head up sharply. It seemed her disgruntled charge had finally—like Lissa—had enough of the muffled and completely inappropriate giggles of Lord Beecham’s ‘special friend. For the last hour, Lissa had sat quietly sewing by the window, as well behaved as any good governess could be suffering such trials.

Meanwhile, seated on an elegant blue and silver silk-striped settee opposite the piano, Lord Beecham seemed wholly occupied with his increasingly regular guest, Lady Julia and, until now, impervious to his ward’s attempt to regain his attention.

Lissa slanted a glance at Lucinda. When Lucinda was angry she was not a pretty girl. Her peaches and cream complexion became red and mottled, her rose-bud shaped mouth flattened into a harsh, thin line and her normally luminous blue eyes seemed almost black beneath beetling brows. This was how she looked now as she hunched on the piano stool, glowering at Lady Julia—or Lady Ledger, wife of Sir Archie Ledger if she were happy to be properly identified, which, judging by the surreptitious fondling the pair were engaged in today, she would not.

Lady Julia, supposedly an earl’s daughter fallen on hard times, was supposedly Lucinda’s very young godmother. She arrived at Lord Beecham’s London townhouse at regular intervals, heavily veiled, to instruct Miss Lucinda Martindale in the musical arts though she could not—as far as Lissa could tell—play a note. At least, Lissa had never heard her play a note, though she’d heard a lot of other noise emanating from Lady Julia during her visits to his lordship’s bedroom between music lessons.

Finally, it seemed, Lucinda had got what she’d been after:  Lord Beecham’s undivided attention.

“What an infernal noise!” he exclaimed, the dewy adoration as he’d gazed at Lady Julia instantly replaced by a thunderous scowl as he jerked his head round to look at Lucinda. “I spend a fortune on your musical education! Surely I should expect better than that!”

Lucinda’s mobile face went through a gamut of emotions: devastation then outrage, however her mouth remained a thin, tight line. It was quite obvious the girl was desperately in love with her benefactor into whose care she’d been placed the previous year upon the death of her parents and younger brother during a scarlet fever outbreak in their village. But while Lucinda was obstinate and demanding of her governess, she had never, as far as Lissa knew, openly challenged Lord Beecham.

Nevertheless, there was an underlying challenge now in the girl’s demure: “Perhaps Lady Julia would care to demonstrate how Pachelbel’s Canon in D should really sound.”

Lady Julia, who had attempted to discreetly put at least several inches between her thigh and that of his Lordship’s, smiled sweetly. “My dear, I don’t want to show you up.” She patted her bright golden hair. “Please, play it again. With just a little more practice you will have mastered it, and Lord Beecham and I are quite happy for you to entertain us while I continue to outline to him my hopes on how your general carriage, demeanor and…might I add without offence…character itself, might be improved sufficiently to make your come-out without undue embarrassment to either yourself or his Lordship.”

About Beverley Oakley
Beverley was seventeen when she bundled up her first 500+ page romance and sent it to a publisher. Rejection followed swiftly. Drowning one’s heroine on the last page, she was informed, was not in line with the expectations of romance readers.

After a whirlwind romance with a handsome Norwegian bush pilot she met in Botswana, Beverley discovered her “Happy Ever After”, saved her heroine from drowning in her next manuscript and had her first Regency romance published in 2009.

Since then, she’s written more than fifteen sizzling historical romances laced with mystery, intrigue and suspense under the name Beverley Oakley.

She also writes psychological historicals, and Colonial-Africa-set romantic suspense, as Beverley Eikli.

With an inspiring view of a Gothic nineteenth-century insane asylum across the road, Beverley lives north of Melbourne with her gorgeous husband, two lovely daughters and rambunctious Rhodesian Ridgeback, Mombo, named after the Okavango Delta safari lodge where she and her husband met.
