A Druid Curse, A Prophesied Love, A Consuming Vengeance…

Catherine Green, along with her twin sister and older brother, travels to Ireland on a college graduation trip. Her vacation takes a permanent turn when she lands her dream job at an art and history museum on her beloved Emerald Isle. She meets a handsome stranger named Bowen, an expert of sorts on local ancient studies. Though their first meetings are turbulent at best, Catherine finds herself drawn to him.

Unaware that she is the key to breaking a hidden curse, Catherine unleashes the evil madman Conall and his druid followers, imprisoned since ancient times. Tragedy and loss ensue, sprouting within Catherine the deep seeds of rage that thrust her onto the damaging path of vengeance. Confused by the enigma that is Bowen, his mixed signals, and her own feelings, she is swept away with him on an unexpected journey surrounded by myth and long-forgotten knowledge. In order to stop the evil plans of Conall and his reunified army, Catherine must entwine her fate with peril. Her survival is trivial to her as long as Conall dies. She’ll do whatever it takes.

Q&A with J.Z.N. McCauley!

· What was your inspiration for Oak & Mistletoe?

One day, I was studying ancient Roman history, and somehow I was led to articles regarding Pliny the Elder, and Julius Caesar’s account of the ancient druids. It was fascinating. Reading the only ritual known from them, the ritual of oak and mistletoe, I suddenly imagined the basic plot of my book.

· Which character in Oak & Mistletoe do you identify with most, and why?

I suppose that would be Catherine, my main character. For many reasons, but we both love Ireland and strawberry ice cream.

· What was your favorite part about writing Oak & Mistletoe?

I loved it all, but I will say it was especially fun writing the villain scenes.

· What was the hardest part about writing Oak & Mistletoe?

Writing Conall’s character was a struggle because it was easy to make his special level of crazy go too far. Luckily my editor helped me bring it back a bit and smooth it out.

· What’s one thing you want readers to know about Oak & Mistletoe?

This is a book about many things. Different sides and levels of evil, suffering, loss. But ultimately it’s about good vs evil, love and having the courage to keep going.

· Who is your favorite rogue character from a book, TV show, or movie?

So many, but I’d have to say Killian (aka Captain Hook) from ABC’s TV show Once Upon a Time.

3.25" Nutcracker Soldier Wreath Glass Ball Christmas Ornament by BestPysanky

This is a awesome nutcracker ornament. It is hand painted on a 3 1/4 inch glass ball. The front features a Nutcracker surrounded by a wreath. The back it like a solid wreath with a lighted candle, colored balls, and beaded garland. The ball itself is white. The colors are very strong and vibrant and really do stand out against the ball. IT also has a gold hanger at the top. I love the hand painted design. The hand painting makes this ornament unique. No matter how many are made and sold of this design no 2 will be exact. This ornament will look great on any tree or hung on a ornament stand and displayed on a table or shelf. There are glittered accents all around the ball which will catch the lighting and make it stand out even more.

I received this at a discount but am not required to write a review, but  I decided I should let people know about my experience with it.

Homeme 50 LED Solar String

I love this set of lights. I love the colors mostly. The lights are Purple, Green, red, and yellow. These are the long tear drop shaped lights. There are 50 lights on the strand the strand is 23 feet long. These are solar lights. The power and mode buttons are on the back of the solar panel. There are 8 modes of lighting from steady to very fast flashing. The solar panel needs to be in direct sunlight at least 6 hours during the day to give a full charge. The lights turn themselves on at dusk and turn off either when it gets light or they run out of charge. These make outdoor decorating so much easier, you put them where you want them and enjoy them without having to remember to turn them off and on, there are not extension cords to run, and you can place them anywhere you want as long as the solar panel will get sunlight. These can also be placed indoors as long as the solar panel can be fed through a window to get the sunlight.

I received this free but am not required to write a review, but  I decided I should let people know about my experience with it.

Dr. Severin Women Body After Shave Balm

I have sensitive skin in the more sensitive areas So when I saw this balm I thought I would give it a shot. I have to admit I am not totally sold on this product though. When I see the word balm to me that means a solid, this is a liquid. I was not expecting a liquid. I took the lid off and underneath is a plastic tap you have to pull off to get to the product. While trying to get that tab off I ended up spilling about 1/4 of the stuff in my lap, on my desk, on my chair, and all over the floor. I opened this 2 days after it arrived so the balm was not in liquid form because it was hot.  I have even set the jar in front of the AC vent to try to get it to go back to solid, it did not work. I am not crazy about the smell either. It says it has a light scent, no it is pretty strong. It does work though. I put a little in a sensitive area after shaving and I did not end up with razor burn, so I cannot say the product is horrible just my experience opening it was.
