My review:
I have to be honest when I say this is not at all what most of the books I read are like. i generally go to the opposite end of the spectrum I guess you would say. I generally choose Ghosts,, witches, demons, murder, and stuff like that. So I find myself in a whole new Genre and I have fallen in love. This is actually the 3rd book I have read by Charlotte Hubbard. I have read the first book in this series and it hooked me pretty much on page one. I couldn't wait for this book to come out so I could get my hands on it. Now after reading it I am waiting again. I cannot wait for Charlotte to give me more of the people and their lives at Promise Lodge. This book left me with more mysteries then any of the actual mystery books I have read.
In this the 2nd installment of the Promise Lodge series it starts off exactly where we were left in book 1. With Noah and Deborah getting married. At their wedding the Bishop demands all unmarried men and women to get married, boy did this set a fire in some of the people living in promise lodge. Some were not happy at all. This is a new order of the old order, and being single is not a bad thing to most of the residents. Then a horrible accident happens, and the whole community comes together to help their injured friends and their families. Christmas is on the way and the love of everyone in this community is so wonderful they will all make it through and have a wonderful Christmas. I cannot tell you all of the twists and turns of this book or there will be no reason for anyone else to read it. But I will tell you if you get a chance grab this book and clear your calendar for a day or 2. Once you open page one you won't want to set it down. The end of the book will leave you begging for more, to find out who the new person is and how he will fit into the lives of the community and lets see who is next to say I do.
I love all the characters in this series new and old ones alike. I love how promise Lodge is coming along and growing with each book. Charlotte has a way of breathing life into these characters, and convincing you these are real people in a real place. I love how she does not bore you with over detailing. Every word in her book is meaningful to the story. I love how this book leaves a lot to the imagination as well. and it is not filled with sex and "bad" words. There are a few hot kisses but that's as far as it goes. This is a set of books my very religious mother will enjoy, and I will be buying these books for her as they are printed, I have already bought her the 1st book and she very much enjoyed it.
Now Miss Charlotte you must get on with book 3, I cannot wait to see how everything turns out.
