When true love is worth fighting for!

University student, Wiley Cayton’s world turns upside down when she meets college newcomer Cameron Wilks. With his irresistible good looks, he seems to be nothing but a party-boy and a constant distraction.

Even when Wiley finds out about Cameron’s troubled past, she’s determined to keep her distance and her previously shattered heart protected. But with him studying the same degree and falling in with her group of friends, she’s drawn to him in unexplainable, illogical ways. How can one’s heart overrule one’s mind? Inevitably she falls for his charismatic charm and her insecurities take hold. Her life spirals out of control and she struggles to find balance between partying, sex and maintaining her scholarship grades.

With her future at risk, her family battle to keep her and Cameron apart, but that only weaves their relationship tighter together. When a college prank goes horribly wrong – threads snap, and just when she needs him most, Cameron disappears. Is their tumultuous romance meant to be or is it just a temporary distraction?

excerpt

Carefully avoiding any body contact, I grabbed Cameron’s iPad and glanced over his timetable. “You’re in nearly all my classes.” My worst suspicions were confirmed as I read through his schedule.

As I handed back his iPad, his fingers crossed over mine. I gasped as a shock shot through me gain when our skin connected. Our eyes met. I nearly dropped his tablet as I slowly pulled my hand away.

What was wrong with me? I’d never experienced anything like it before. It was nothing like an electric shock; this was exhilarating and exciting. It snaked through my veins like tendrils of fire. I was mystified and intrigued…and beyond baffled.

Having missed the introduction, the lecturer brought us to attention. I blinked my eyes to adjust to the dimming of the theatre lights.

As the room darkened, I had an urge to test this extraordinarily strange body contact experience and to see if it happened again. Yes, conduct my own little science experiment. How was I going to do this subtly? Dave was going to be my control specimen. I leaned over toward him and rested my arm against his. Skin on skin.

I waited a split second or two. Daring not to breath.

But…nothing happened.

It was just Dave.

I straightened back into my chair and smiled to myself. I then casually leaned over in Cameron’s direction to see what he was typing on his iPad. My arm rested against his. He inhaled deeply and at the same time my blood started to swirl like the ocean in a wild storm and my heart pounded like a runaway racehorse. The hairs on my arm stood on end. He stared at me, his penetrating metallic-blue eyes shimmering in the dim lighting. My mouth gaped open. I couldn’t move and simply forgot how to breathe.

He closed his eyes. “Are you okay? Did you want something?”

I stuttered, but finally managed to form some words. “Um, no, I’m all good.”

Yes, I’d finally come up for air. I flopped back in my chair and could feel his eyes linger on me as I tried to understand what had just happened. This was not normal. Exhilarating, intense, but not normal. I was being stupid or out of my mind. Was I having an allergic reaction to the lotion or soap he used? Surely there had to be a logical and realistic explanation?

Whatever it was, I wanted and needed it to stop. It was way too much of a distraction.

meet the author

Jove was born and raised against a backdrop of orchards and potato fields. The youngest of four children, she was raised in a conservative, Christian home and began asking why at a very young age, much to the consternation of her mother and grandmother. At the customary age of eighteen, she fled southern Idaho in pursuit of broader minds and fewer traffic jams involving the local livestock. The road didn’t end in Portland, Oregon, but there were many confusing freeway interchanges that a girl from the sticks was ill-prepared to deal with. As a result, she has lived in the Portland metro area for over twenty years and still can’t figure out how she manages to spend so much time in traffic when there’s not a stray sheep or cow in sight.

She lives with her partner, a woman deserving of sainthood for withstanding life with Jove for so many years. Between them they share a collection of six children, one dog, one cat, nine chickens, a mortgage payment, one sedan, and a cushy SUV big enough to hold the Lesbian Brady Bunch on their family outings. One day she hopes to live in a house that doesn’t generate a never ending honey-do list.

Incidentally, she never stopped asking why, but did expand her arsenal of questions to include who, what, when, where and, most important of all, how. In those questions, a story is born.

Her books include Uncommon Romance, Love and Devotion, Indelible, Chaps, Split the Aces, and Edge of Darkness.

Excerpt Three:

Mallory Court Hotel
12:00 p.m.

“I trust you’ll find the food excellent,” he said, parking his car in front of a Lutyens-style main house, the epitome of a classic English country house.

After she had changed clothes and came to meet him in the studio, he had known she would capture the attention of all the men in Mallory Court. It was not that her dress was transparent, clingy, short, or even brand-new. Far from that. She was wearing a lilac turtleneck long-sleeve maxi dress with a large gray belt low on her hips and gray flat booties. The vintage outfit emphasized her youth and put his imagination on fire. He wanted to rip off her dress and devour her breasts.

He wasn’t quite sure what they had talked about or what had happened on the way to the hotel, as her sweet scent wrapped him in its flowery vine.

As he helped her out of the car, the warmth of his hands penetrated through her dress. She kept her hands on his shoulders when he didn’t let go of her waist immediately, striving to ignore how rigid and well formed his muscles were. Damn, Laetitia! Stop these thoughts. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Wee lasses tend to have a difficult time descending from my car in long dresses, unaided.” And man, I’ve developed an appreciation for wee lasses in long dresses.

She wanted to point out that everything would be wee when compared to him, but she just said again, “Thank you.”

He clasped his hands behind his back, lest he would pick her up in his arms and take her directly to a room. Focus on something else. “You have a lilting Gaelic accent. But you’re not Scottish, are you?”

Interview with Cristiane Serruya

Hello, Teresa. Thanks for hosting me on your lovely blog. I’m so happy to be here with you and your readers today.

As a kid did you write or make up stories?
I’ve always written. As a lawyer my job was to essentially retell my clients’ stories. In 2009, I considered writing fiction and eventually created the embryo for TRUST Series, where Tavish is also featured. When it was done, I knew I’d found a new calling.

Where does most of your character inspiration come from?
Real life is what inspires me to write. I observe and listen to my family’s and friends’ stories, my neighbors’ daily lives, read the international newspapers, and then I mix everything in my story cauldron.
Do some qualities of your characters come from real people?
Meeting interesting people—in person or on line—gives me the inspiration and ideas for my characters. Also, there’s a little bit of me in them as well—including the bad ones. *smile*

What was the inspiration for your book?
It was an emotional experience writing of the lead characters’ pains, especially Tavish, a war veteran. The impact of war on soldiers is heartbreaking and I struggled to capture some of that pain in a meaningful way. This book is my homage to those who dedicate themselves to make this world safer.

What is your favorite spot to write?
In a big armchair in my living room. It’s there I cry and laugh with my characters and write my first draft. To edit, I use my home office.

What advice would you give budding writers?
Research what you are writing about even if you are familiar with the theme. And, of course, exhaustedly review your draft and ask beta readers to read it, too, before you consider it a manuscript.

I’m available to comment or answer any questions so I want to invite everybody to leave a message here or on my website.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts here and helping me promote my work, Teresa.
I hope you are all having a great day!
Cris :)

CHMETE Top Quality Soft Cotton Cowboy Universal Adjustable Camera Strap

I was looking for a nice replacement strap for my Canon DSLR camera and I have found it with this one. I am in love with the color to start with. Its not an actual pink color but it is not purple either. It is a very pretty color. So much better then the black one that came with my camera. It has cotton webbing and is comfortable to wear around my neck. It does not cut into me neck, which is important. I like that it has an adjustable length. I don't want my camera hanging to low so that it does not get banged around as much but I do not want it to high up so it doesn't get in my way either. This is a universal camera strap so will fit more then just Canon. It comes with extra attachments for different types of cameras.

I received this product during a promotion free for my honest review and they are 100% my own opinions. I received no compensation for this review and I am not required to give a good review. I am also not associated with the seller in any way.
