Montana's bravest…and hottest

With a mysterious arsonist on the loose in Missoula, fire inspector Kevin Jensen saves more than Heather Sampson's house. The sexy single father rescues her from an abusive marriage—and discovers his own past failures don't have to rule his life. Especially when sparks between him and Heather ignite irresistible desire.

But who's the arsonist? Why target Heather? What's his shocking motive? When Heather faces off with him in a brutal attack, she needs her "white knight" as much as he needs her. Both have looked into their souls and risked their broken hearts for each other. Now Kevin will have to risk his life and his heart.

Prologue
He looked down at Heather Sampson as he pulled the matchbox from his pocket. The box dropped from his hand, spilling matches on her bedroom floor in a heap of deadly promise. Crouching down, he scooped them back into the container, careful to move quietly, afraid that at any second she would awaken and find him standing over her.
Her eyes were closed and her lips slightly parted, as if she waited for a kiss from her Prince Charming. She should have known better. There was no such thing as Prince Charming. There were only toads and a precious few men like him—men who worked to make everything just.
The sad truth was that there was no justice in marriage—at least not in any of the marriages he had witnessed. No. Marriage was one lie after another. One hurt feeling masked with a fake smile, only to have another lie strip it away. It was an endless cycle of pain.
What was the point? What was it all for?
As far as he could tell, it was for nothing more than ego and some idealistic hope that if they acted happy, if they faked it well enough, maybe they could finally believe it themselves.
He was here to make her a martyr, not that she would understand, but this was his chance to show her and the world what her marriage truly was—nothing more than smoke and ashes. A fire that had yet to burn itself out. But at last the time had come. The hour was here for him to stoke the flames and let them consume every crumb of her failing marriage.
The inferno could have it all.
He walked out of her bedroom and made his way downstairs, where the glorious scent of gasoline filled the space. Unlike the others, Heather’s house would go up in a flash. In one giant fireball the whole charade would be over—the secrets, the lies, the fake smiles and hurt feelings. It would all be gone, and all her pain could be for a higher purpose.
The night air blew into the house, diluting the gas’s perfume. He made sure to leave the door open as he stepped out and walked toward the garage. A puddle of gas sat on the sidewalk, just waiting for him.
He struck the match.
It was so much easier this way.

The fire’s smoke curled skyward, creating a trail that led to the heavens. If he had his way, life would be better and she would be free.

Snippet:
“Are you sure that it’s okay if I stay, Kevin? “I can go. I’m sure that I can stay with—” She stopped before she said Brittany. Her only other friend didn’t have a place in her life for Heather’s mess. She had her hands full dealing with the fire at her house. “I can stay at a hotel or something.” “You’re not staying at a hotel.” Kevin set her bag next to the wall, but his movements were awkward and tight. “You’re welcome to stay here as long as you need.” “Kevin, I… Thank you.” She didn’t know what to say. Thank you just didn’t seem like enough when what she really wanted to say was that he was part of the reason she had the strength to leave. He had shown her there could be more in the world. That there could be something besides heartbreak and the constant thoughts that she could be doing something more to make someone else happy, even if that meant being miserable in her own skin. Kevin had saved her life and he probably didn’t even realize it.

Excerpt One:

From Grey Manchester:

‘What do you want?’ Nadine asked. The metal handle of the knife felt hot in her hand. Why hadn’t she put it down yet? What did she intend? Which kind of payment would she give him?

They returned to their silent stare-off, and Nadine felt even more ambivalent toward this man who had been her friend since primary school. As a precocious five-year-old, his deafness had intrigued her and drawn her to him. She’d learned sign language for him, and how to lip-speak. Today, she deliberately withheld signing. Make him work for her words.

She hated that they couldn’t yell and scream at one another when they needed to blow off steam. Well, she could yell at him, but his deaf-muteness always rendered her thunder pointless and ineffectual.

Frustration … such an apt word. It described a multitude of feelings and unfulfilled want.

Noisy thoughts tore the taut silence asunder. Could she, in all fairness, continue to blame him for the attack? One punch—that’s all. Self-defence. He hadn’t heard her approach. She ought to have known better. His recent assault had left him jittery and vulnerable.

Nadine stared at his delicate hands, now clenched while his arms hung at his sides. She loved those hands. Those flexible fingers. The things they could do to her. A memory grew wings and fluttered in front of her. Their first time. His touch. The first time he’d touched her in that way. Two not-quite-sixteen-year-olds discovering each other.

SNAN 150W Car Power Inverter DC 12V to AC 110V Car Inverter With Dual USB Ports

My husband has been wanting a power inverter for his SUV or a while now. He has this thing for always being prepared no matter what, I am pretty happy with that quality. We travel a good bit so it is nice to have everything we need and ton of stuff we don't. This inverter though is very handy. We have a small air pump that runs off of electricity. If we were stuck in the middle of nowhere the air pump would be useless, but with this inverter it is not useless. I also sometimes on long car rides like to pull out my lap top and play games or write, I like to use my tablet on long rides as well. This inverter will give me more time then the battery. It also has 2 USB ports so I can charge my husband and my phones as well. This is about 3 1/4 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, and about 1 1/4 inches thick, it has a 15 1/2 inch cord on it and plugs into the cigarette lighter of the vehicle. It works great for plugging anything 110 volt electrical into and charges fast from the USB ports.

GPtek® 3.5mm AUX Car Bluetooth 4.1 Receiver A2DP Wireless Adapter

My car stereo does not have Bluetooth, and I really wanted to be able to use my music apps while in the car. I did not however want to have to use up my only cigarette lighter port for the large and bulky blue tooth receiver's I have seen in the past. This one is small and plugs into the Aux port of my radio. I am loving it. This comes with a USB to Micro USB cable that plugs into any charger. It also has a Audio connector cable so You can connect to a tight fitting radio or just have it laying down out of the way. The music playback is great. I do not get static. It does not take up room and I love it. It takes longer to get it out of the package then it does to install it. Just plug it in, turn the radio to an off station and you are good to go. It connected with my phone almost immediately.

Aikema Electronic Cord Organizer

I have used other cable wraps int he past and have been very leased with those. The ones I have have a zipper to keep the cables enclosed. The zipper was actually a little harder to get wrapped around and zipped up then the Velcro on these cable wraps. The other you were able to cut slits in the sides to let the cables out, but these are made of a neoprene type material and do not rip when the cable gets pulled taught. These have little plastic breakaway type clips on each end so you can connect them for longer cord bundles, you could not do that with my other ones. There are 4 cable sleeves in this set, Each sleeve is a little over 19 1/2 inches long. These are great and when they get dirty you can even toss these in the wash machine. Cable sleeves have made such a difference in the mess under my desk and behind our entertainment center. I really love the one behind my entertainment center. I like to move the living room furniture around once in a while and it is so much easier to move with all the cords bundled together then flopping all over the place.

Best Mom Ever Glass Coffee Mug 13 oz

Guess what my Mom is getting for Mother's Day? Yep she is getting this awesome Coffee Cup. I am making her a coffee themed basket and this coffee cup is going to be the main focal point in the basket. I am adding different flavored coffees and creamers to the basket and this beautiful cup. She will love it I am sure.

I love the glassware by Got Me Tipsy. The cup holds 13 ounces of the black gold. It is a clear cup with "best Mom Ever' printed on it.The printing is on there very well and does not flake off when I scratched at it with my finger nail. It comes in a really nice gift box, that would be great for gift giving, but I will be taking it out of the box for my gift basket. The cup is dishwasher and microwave safe. It is a heavy duty sturdy coffee mug. I am excited to give this to Mom.

AGPtEK® Hands-free Call Center Noise Cancelling Corded Monaural Headset

I have been looking for a better headset to use with the talk and type program on my computer. I have been through a few different ones from the cheap ones to the very costly ones. I have used a plain microphone and the very large heavy gaming headsets as well. This set is very light weight, very comfortable, adjustable, and really seems to work very well with the talk and type program. It is also great for hands free phone calls, works great with Skype.

I like being able to adjust the microphone to where I need and want it instead of like some with inline mics. The headset it comfortable to wear. I can hear very well out of the single padded earphone. My computer is able to pick up my voice nicely. I keep a fan running and a lot of the headsets I have used have picked the fan noise up to the point I would have to turn the fan off to be able to use them. Not this one.
